That seems surprisingly low, I know it's a Switch exclusive and all but I figured 1.5 - 2 mil at least.

      If you want excuses:
      >long wait time killed the hype, especially since they announced it early after already a long time of silence and still took a while to release it
      >meh story. They literally just shoehorned in a Multiverse plot since the first two games alone make up a complete story.
      >bad word of mouth after the controversial ending and new characters which didn’t resonate as hard as the main cast
      >it’s also essentially a soft reboot.
I bet the new Cereza game has a better reputation on passion alone.

it's only been out for like 3 months
a million copies is pretty good
surely people will gush about it and lead to more sales
      it deserves success

      >110+ Million consoles sold
      >Only sells 1 million

      lol

most nintendo fans are under 18 and can't play bayonetta

      that's surprisingly low
Sonic Frontiers hit like 3 million copies in a month despite being derided by journos and randoms.
Bayo 3 had a presence at the Game Awards too as a contender for GOTY iirc too

      >sonic
you expect bayonetta to be as popular as sonic?

        >surely people will gush about it and lead to more sales it deserves success
No, 3 is the new black sheep of the franchise, most people who have bothered to finish it hate the way the story was treated. Beyond that, most diehards will just go back to replaying Bayo 1 instead of 3 due to the inconsistent package of gameplay (over-emphasis on using demon slaves to do any damage to bosses, crap ton of level gimmicks compared to 1 etc).

Sadly that's the closest thing to a commercial success the series ever had.

For Bayonetta, that's actually pretty good. The last Bayo game to sell 1 million was the original Bayonetta but that was ONLY if you added up both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. For Platinum and for a niche series, this is a huge success.

Yes. More like 1.3-1.4 Million between Switch and Wii U, but we do know that the Switch version sold 1 Million. 3 is, however, the fastest this series has had a million seller, and it's not even close.

When playing this I thought I would be more annoyed by the voice actor change, but after seeing like 30 million people die at the beginning of the game and Bayonetta seemingly not really giving a frick I stopped liking the character anyway. The Enzo bullying stuff was fun in Bayonetta 1 and 2 but when he's crying in corner because his children are dead and the bullying still continues that was when I checked out fully.

That's fair but Vigrid isn't a real place and it's entirely possible all of those sky scrapers are empty. I know it's daft but when it's literally New York, a population I can google and know with 100% certainty all of those skyscrapers are populated to the brim with people, then it's different.

Also Vigrid people were dehumanized by them all being angel worshipping scum and they are usually saved from harm by the fighting happening on a different plane of existence as opposed to Bayonetta 3 where they are all just fricked.

Likely an attempt to paint the series as progressive so playing it wouldn't go against their far left politics where "sexy lady = evil", but "sexy lesbians = virtuous". It's her saving Jeanne in the second game that made all the yurigays go wild, even though B1 makes it pretty apparent Luka is the love interest.

The fact that the timing is drastically different to Bayo's usual Witch Time mechanic made it so that her levels didn't really click when jumping from one to the next. I've heard there's been a patch that changes the timing issue, though. May go back to try her levels again and Pure Platinum them if the fix actually made the awkwardness go away.

Not sure what the tail on this will be, but maybe it's reasonable to hope for about 1.3-1.5mill? Xenoblade 3 at 1.8mill, so that'll probably finish around 2mill and get similar numbers to 2.

Neither game was perfect, but both were ambitious and both were a lot of fun for me, so I'm happy to see my niche franchises doing well. I've heard similar things for SMT5 and Metroid:Dread, so really, it's happy days all around.

Yeah I kinda feel like a battered wife after playing Hi-Fi Rush.

Hi-Fi Rush has that peak 2000s Clover style but it also feels like a real refinement of character action pacing. Bayonetta 3 feels really clumsy and unwieldy in how it handles the mix of combat/exploration.
Hi-Fi Rush actually has a proper postgame too.

Just started playing the first one on the Steam Deck. Still trying to get used to the combat, but it's fun.

1 million would be great if this was an indie game developed in a year and released on pc, it deserved flopping after going against yuri fans.

1's worth finishing if you've got the patience to go through it with a guide. Fun game, but some of the shit they expect you to do to get all the collectibles and find all the Verses is outright moronic.

when and why did Bayonetta become a nintendo franchise? weren't the first 2 games on xbox and PS3¿

Just the first 1. And when it came time to funding a sequel, Sega had a lot of their money tied up in Randy Pissford's abortion of a game Aliens: Colonial Marines, so it was shopped around to outsider companies for funding, and Nintendo was the one who said yes.

Bayonetta 1,2,3 are the same boring game, nintendogays keep coping about the Sales but the game sucks

That's okay I guess, but I was hoping for 1.5.
I doubt it will reach 2 millions at this rate, and the spinoff is coming really too soon.

That's really higher than expected in such a short time frame, honestly. I remember Bayo 2 only sold half a million copies.

In 9 weeks, Bayo 2 sold around 700 thousand copies. (400k and 300k from Wii U and Switch)
The fact that bayo 3 get 1 million on a single platform is impressive compare its predecessor

Highly unlikely, Nintendo owns that shit. Not completely impossible after W101, but don't hold your breath on it.

1 million digitally? I find it hard to believe that it's only 1 million total when the game was getting to 3 spots on Amazon in several countries.

Only thing I remember from this game is the "controversy" where a bunch of twitter trannies got mad that the main character wasn't a dyke.

Can't stop listening to the Sinatra cover they did for 3. Debated it in my head for a while, but I think might even be better than Fly Me To The Moon or Moon River.

    >a million copies
Oof, it's a niche game and her whole thing is being sexy. Not many people liked the new re-design and it looks like people didn't like her daughter either. I'm not surprised because it was a game held up by coomers. The only good Bayo game is 1.

But this is the fastest a Bayonetta title has ever sold a million copies.
