happy birthday Dreamcast, and happy birthday best tamagotchi ever
Did you guys loose the cap on yours?
Were you able to convince your parents to buy more batteries?
Were you even able to find one at the launch of the system? Because I couldn’t, it wasn’t until months later that I finally got one
>Yes
>Yes
>I didn't look until months later since I only had a few games at first
More annoying was the fact that VMU games took up 128 blocks. You want to play shenmue AND walk a chao? Fuck YOU guy, you can't!
Tech Romancer was the only game I had with more than one VMU game, it had THREE. One of which was a barebones spaceship shmup and I loved that shit.
Honestly though the fucking heeping was a nightmare, having to disconnect them from the controller every time you switched off was dumb as fuck.
>Were you even able to find one at the launch of the system?
Dunno. Didn't look. Already had enough.
>Because I couldn’t
Probably because you were in your dads balls at the time.
>more batteries
After the Game Gear this wasn't an issue
But it was released on November 27.
My bad, though I got my DC that Christmas and I still didn’t find one till like march
I bought new batteries for mine once and they were dead again in like a week. Never again.
>loose the cap
>loose
That's a nice hampster you have there. It'd be a shame if somebody took the p's out of it.
did that new VMU that's supposed to have like a billion blocks and rechargeable battery ever come out?

Also when the fuck is this shit coming out? Its been almost 4 years!

This one? Supposedly they already started shipping, though the storage stays the same as the original so it doesn't have compatibility issues.
Has USB-C so data swapping shouldn't be an issue.
It’s got an SD card slot so that you can swap virtual memory cards on the fly.
It’s just that the individual virtual memory cards can only be 128k I think
I want to get a couple of these then sell off all the DC memory units I've amassed.
For some reason the moment I opened this thread I thought of a modern community alternative to the original VMU.
It's nice to know that something like that already exist.
I wonder if there's a way to automatically give each game its own full virtual memory card.
That’d be a nice feature, if not they’re updatable and the dude is really cool about that sorta thing. He added USB video out because a YouTube comment suggested it
Even with 16 GB you will NEVER run out of space.
I can remember realising how annoying the beep was and then pulling it apart to disconnect the speaker.
