      >the cars control less like ahit
That's good to hear. Of I all the issues with the released game this was probably my biggest. I couldn't believe that a game released in current gen could have driving that was so bad. It was made worse by the fact that npcs are always trying to sell you cars and the game marketing really pushed the aesthetic experience of driving around Nightcity.

Not much, it still didn't delivered what it promised and the art style is still GTA V California2077 DLC.

But hey a chinese cartoon changed everything or something like that.

It sounds insane to me, that just one popular anime can change everyones perception of this game so much wtf. Have people really just called it shit because everyone else did and now call it good because again everyone else says so?

It's not everyone. The people shilling the anime now are the same devasted cyberpunk shills from launch that are desperate to make their "favorite brand" cool again.

almost as insane as everyone hating on the game at launch without having played it. People can't think for themselves and would rather say what someone else said on twitter or youtube rather than try a game and form their own opinion.

People started hating on the game before launch because CDPR was doing shady shit like forbidding early reviewers from using their own footage or shifting the marketing from the gameplay and the RPG aspects to Keanu Reeves and E-celebs.

I think with this, it was a situation of people knowing about the awful launch and not caring to try the game 2 years later.

The anime re-sparked interest for a lot of people.
And now that it's not a buggy fricking mess people like it.

but before the anime everyone had a bad taste in their mouths over it's launch. (which is fair lol wtf was that launch)

it's also just easy to see why the average console gamer was fuming at launch. If you tried playing this on an Xbox One it was like 540p lowest settings 15fps. Now 2 years later if you grab a cheap Series S from the store its 1080p60fps at high settings or whatever

This is something so many people seem to forget.
It's a game based in a Tabletop RPG series where you have full freedom in Night City. In 2077 you are dragged along in a story you may not even have any interest in playing or being a part of. They gave you zero options for how you wanted to play the game.
        >No real factions
        >No real "jobs"
        >No corporate opportunities
Say I wanted to play the game and side with Arasaka in the very beginning, you can't
Say I wanted to join Maelstrom, you can't
Say I wanted to join the NCPD and deal with criminals / investigations by the book, you can't
Say I wanted to be a cog in the corporate wheel and be a repo man for cybernetic parts people missed payments on, you can't

That's basically what it is. It went from a PROPER RPG to just an action game

you're not wrong, but the reason Cyberpunk will never be a failure and will get it's second chance for average gamers is this type of stuff doesn't exist in any game. Maybe New Vegas if you're looking at something modern and fully 3D, but that's basically it. These kind of options don't exist in any broad meaningful sense in any popular rpg from the last 10 years

Agreed. Which is just a damn shame because they should have included things like what I listed. Imagine if you got to play as an NCPD investigator who gets called in after the Konpeki Plaza heist goes wrong, or if you were still a corpo in Arasaka and had to deal with the leadership shift after Saburo is murdered

I still love how the game tries so hard to PRETEND it's an RPG by giving you 3 intro missions with different backgrounds as if it will come up at all outside of the scant dialogue choice here and there

Yeah, those intro missions are hot garbage. they all lead to the exact same story with barely any real input and it's so obvious once you do more than one intro.

I'm not sure if they lied about this stuff all being in during the marketing or whatever, but just looking at their studio's experience it seems crazy to expect it. Going from Witcher 3 to Cyberpunk is honestly a huge improvement to role playing even if Cyberpunk is still a shitty rpg. They'd never done a game before with custom characters and different builds, with different intros or different endings. Different ways to complete combat encounters. But they'd never come anywhere close in Witcher 3 to having things like factions or jobs. It's basically a bioware game

Still the biggest disappointment. And yes I'm still pissed off about it. v can go frick themselves. CDPR was maybe the worst company to get handed the reigns. I like them as a developer, and their literal world building is god tier but holy shit let me roleplay you dumb shits.

Wish some other dev picked up the resulting fumble and made a similar game but with the actual role play features.

This. The worldbuilding and lore in Cyberpunk is fantastic, but CDPR fumbled the ball so badly when it came to trying to make a compelling RPG.

Not exactly like Elder Scrolls, but it should have definitely been more like TES than the game that we got.
Say we were able to join the NCPD faction early in the game, and we have a genuine reason to NOT kill enemies, we could have way more dialog options, open up more locations with our badge / rank, we could work with criminals in a more strong-arm type of way to gather information and get what we need done quicker, etc.
Or join Maelstrom and it opens up missions to go and rob Militech or Arasaka convoys and steal military level cyberware and rise the ranks of the gang.
Or being an actual Corpo agent and strong-arming the NCPD into doing things we want / looking the other way, gaining access to a more luxurious lifestyle, dealing with Militech more as an antagonist than street level criminals.
Everything could have easily been done since the game had started pre-production around 2012 / 2013. If they had put more time and effort into making a massively branching storyline, rather than focusing so heavily on Johnny Silverhand and Keanue Reeves, then they could have made it work. Silverhand's story is better suited as a DLC, which could have been done in very interesting ways.
            >Street Criminal: Silverhand biochip is heisted by V and Jackie like in the base game
            >NCPD: Silverhave biochip is put into evidence / an Arasaka team is breaking into the police headquarters and you have to try and stop them / hide the chip which leads to it being instered
            >Maelstrom: You heist it yourselves brute force from Arasaka and you slot it in without thinking
            >Arasaka: You're an agent protecting Konpeki plaza while Jackie breaks in to steal the chip, you slot it in thinking you're protecting it from the thieves
            >Militech: You hire Evelyn Parker as a liaison to get to Dex and the chip, Yorinobu still murders his father, but the chip is stolen without a hitch and you gain access to it

Yes, but shit is suppose to be happening at night. It’s part of the aesthetic. It’s like having a western movie take place in the jungle or the North Pole. Yes those places exists in western movies, but you shouldn’t focus on that

The biggest changes since day 1:
    >AI overhaul
at launch npcs were 100% braindead. If you held them up at gun point in their car they'd just hold their hands up in fear. Now they might do that, or get out to run, get out to fight you with fists or guns, try to run you over with their car, try to reverse and flee with their car. Stuff that you'd expect to be there, but it is a big improvement
    >Gigs
These are like the fetch quests of the game. There's probably like 100 and at launch any time you'd get near one on the map you'd get a call from the quest giver telling you about it. You couldn't deny the call and these things were coming in every few seconds because of how many were on the map. Now each quest giver only gives you 1 at a time, with texts afterwards telling you you've moved up to the next one. And you can also deny the calls to receive what they were going to say in text form. Now you also get a weapon or car as a reward for finished every quest that each person has to give.
    >Knives overhaul
They rebalanced a whole playstyle of the game which was stealth/throwing knives so that thrown knives return to you instead of you having to pick each one up or craft new ones, which pretty much added a whole new way to play the game
    >Appearance change
At launch you couldn't change what you looked like after creation. Now you can change small things like hair and make up in your home mirror (or any mirror) and large things like your eye shape or nose or whatever at any doctor
    >Transmog
Transmog to change your outfits is in the game now
    >Little stuff
Extra texts at the end of romance quests where your lover will text you cute shit for a few hours after their last quest. Better driving all around. Crafting fixes so things aren't as broken. It's closer to a "normal" game now

there's already a couple of decent mods. Anybody playing without the flying car mod and the metro train mod are missing out. Those should be officially patched in

pretty much no shilling ITT just people saying there have been some trite face lift patches and other people sperging about it

every time there was a patch there would be people on Ganker saying THEY FIXED THE GAME IT'S GOOD NOW even though to this day it's the exact same shit as before, just marginally less buggy

dunno why the game has so many cultists but there you go, the anime just gave them another excuse to make more threads

because its basically an ubisoft game but with better graphics/atmosphere/music/writing. And people slurp those shitty ubisoft games the frick up to begin with already

If they were smart they'd introduce expansion pack story modes that drop you back in as other factions. Still a single character but one player custom made and based on things like Detective murder stories, malestrom kidnappings, tyger claw turf wars, trauma team emergencies. You get the idea.

Same world, new perspectives. All purchasable by story type.

this, they've finally got most of the games issues under control and gotten a new fanbase. Instead of moving on to some Unreal 5 Witcher 4 mess they should hunker down and drop a few old school pc stand alone expansions using everything they have but fixing the role playing shit

Agreed. Them scurrying away to hide behind The Witcher is just pathetic. They should be adding to and expanding this game for the next 10 years. Keeping it alive while they slowly work on other titles before switching the main focus from Cyberpunk to the next game, and having Cyberpunk be updated periodically on the backburner

I'd enjoy this if CDPR actually tried to get it worked out.
Basically expansions passes for different storylines that merge and interweave with the main V storyline.
Or hell, just add expansions where we can skip V entirely. We don't even need to have our protagonist voiced, just let us have the dialog options and give us freedom

    fixed car controls
made cops spawning at you less obvious (they spawn further now)
crowd AI and car AI got improved, they react to you properly now
    performance improvements
added some new weapons and outfits

I just wish the game had less stealth. It kind of breaks the whole "Build your own character" concept when two thirds of the content demands stealth. Christ, getting a Sandevistan or Berserk makes the game fricking hell outside combat because you can't even hack devices anymore then, which makes stealth even harder.

last playthrough I just did a shotgun only character with 0 stealth. Frick it. The fixes yell at you some, who cares? Shotgun go buuuurrrrr

Yeahz that's the thing though. Why shove it in so much? Never mind that it's completely immersion breaking to not use stealth on some story missions. Likez going in guns blazing would make zero fricking sense when you plant the virus on the float. If someone saw you, why would they not immediately assume you sabitaged shit?

No idea. Played through it twice on release and have been waiting for DLC or getting an RTX capable GPU that has more VRAM than my 1080ti before I do a third playthrough.

    biggest things:
    skill trees overhauled, suck less
    knife throwing is viable
    slightly less game destroying bugs
    change skins of equipped clothing
    various balancing

game is still the same at its core, not really an RPG and replay value is pretty slight given that you do pretty much exactly the same things each time and most missions are just pass/fail, not branching

genuine question: why would anyone want to replay this open world movie game multiple times? I'm a couple hours in and I'm not getting replayability vibes at all. The whole "first-person vocal MC" is grating since the player-character is an unlikable douche bag, the character builder system just feels like a bunch of % increases, and the gameplay is pretty boring and mechanically time consuming. A one-time playthrough of the movie-storyline seems like it'd be sufficient. Do the decisions you make in dialogue have a massive impact on the direction the game goes, or are the people replaying it just ketamine'd, bpd tattoo enthusiasts who wanna live in a neon coom-world where their genitals are constantly being gratified?

Agreed. V's personality is just awful and I don't ever feel like him / her when I play as them. They should have gone with a silent protagonist and given us way more options in the dialog tree. I just feel like V's character is shitty overall, even when we're being "nice" they're still a shitbag person

Basically the later, but I will say people downplay the variety in the endings. Nothing crazy, but each one gets a couple of hours of unique content vs the press a button get slideshow endings you get in modern deus ex or fallout

The issue with the skill trees is it's so padded. There are good things in there that actually change how you can play and what you can do. But they needed to cut the 90% fat so you really see your choices laid out instead of all the %+
