Better story mode & card pool & difficulty (duel challenges) than any Tag Force. Not predatory gacha shit like MD. This is the best card game.

Physical only on Switch
Not on ps4
Nobody buys physical PS4 games. You've seen the Famitsu threads every week.
Isn't this the one with uneditable decks for the AI? I know in the previous games on GBA or DS the later ones has it so you could give them their own deck to play against
Yeah
You stuck with what the game gives you against the AI
Shame the game is slow as molasses and and the ui is absolute dogshit. It could have been a good game, but they missed the mark so badly by putting zero fricking effort into it.
it's ok. feels more like a puzzle game though with the story mode gimmick decks.
Yeah, but there's no dating sim element unlike Tag Force or CaC unlike WC games.
Master duel is one of the most free to play friendly games to ever exist, it's duel links and especially cross duel that are total cancer
This game is complete shit, imagine unironically PAYING for this garbage when MD is free.
It's an actual insult to the players how they give away this trash as price support lmao.
Why do they remove Yusei's mark on the box?
They did it for the three Tag Force game too.
The fact that someone - ANYONE - is defending this poorly balanced, soulless and boring garbage heap of an audiovisual experience that was made with the budget of a ham sandwich makes me think Ganker is far beyond saving.
This game was incredibly hard when it released because it was back when they tried to implement master rule 4, so the gx and 5d's campaigns were very difficult. I never even finished 5d's. I've been meaning to go back and play it with the regular rules.
Anyone play this game?
I played the story mode and it was really bad. I've heard that the arcade mode is better and requires more strategy, but I can't be assed to get back into it. It doesn't play like a TCG. You just make a team of 7 characters and choose to attack or defend each turn with each of them while the CPU does whatever the frick it wants with no regards to the rules.
MD is better even with the gacha shit. And it also has a community-made offline version if you just want to play single-player with no gacha.
>single player offline version without gatcha shit
A link? A name? A screenshot. Anything, I need a proper YGO offline game. I am playing LOTD but I will drop that shit in a heartbeat if an alternative exists.
https://github.com/pixeltris/YgoMaster
Really at this point through you may as well just download EDOPro or something and give the AI decks to play with.
MD has a nicer interface and the solo duels with the card lore. The unofficial sims are mostly the best option for actual competitive pvp, but for a single-player experience, YgoMaster is pretty good.
MD isn't a good offline game because it doesn't have a really story mode or anything. The single player is mostly to teach the player about how the summoning and archetypes themselves work. You'd be able to finish it in like 4 hours and the tutorials are piss easy vs any competent deck
Now you can still play the game mind you, it just won't provide a very fun experience cause MD isn't about the offline play, it's primarily a pvp game
YGO is a pvp game
You can give the CPU custom decks to use in the offline version. It's not as up to date as the unofficial sims, but it has a good interface. I mainly use it as a sort of companion to MD to test decks before spending gems, but I could see someone having fun with it if all they want to do is mess around with modern cards. For someone wanting a more involved story mode, there's definitely no beating the Tag Force series, of course. But you can't play modern archetypes on those.
>Pay 60$ once and have fun with any card syou want
>Become a slave for months/years to a mobile game unable to even get all the cards you want
Man
It's actually 40 new iirc. Apparently same as 2350 Gems in Master Duel (lol).
$40 for an outdated sim with a terrible UI? What a deal!
yeah bro better buy gems with that money to get 1/10th of a deck
I play for free because I'm not moronic.
and never really get all the cards you really want while slaving away? good for you sister
No because, again, I'm not moronic. I play pvp and events on the official server and when I want to play single-player with any deck I want I use the offline version. I haven't spent a cent on this.
If you completed the latest event last week + missions you'd have around 5+6k gems, they're also adding additional missions next week for the event, so that's another 1k gems for free.
And if you do all the daily missions for the month you'll have 2k more gems for pulls.
You dismantle cards you don't need and craft new ones. Easy.
I've been F2P since the start, the hardest part is not to FOMO I'll give you that, but once you craft all the staples, it's way easier to build any new deck.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>buy gems
Of course it was the add tards con poor impulse control the one hating md, how many Hero decks you dusted and rebuild?
or you could use one of the many free sims for everything you need
thats all yugioh games
No, this one is REALLY bad
Easily one of the worst games in the franchise
Duels are PAINFULLY slow, some cards take absolutely forever to resolve due to slow ass animations (pot of duality and fusions come to mind) and oh my god WHAT WERE THEY THINKING WITH PACK OPENINGS
You have to buy and slowly open one pack at a fricking time. Meanwhile, literally any other Yu-Gi-Oh game lets you buy multiple packs AND open them all instantly at the same time
Shovelware tier game
The yugioh game I played as a kid didn't even have packs I think, you just earny your cards directly for beating people, it was a battle city one on the GBA, not sure I ever actually finished it.
Probably The Sacred Cards. Yeah, you get cards by beating opponents or by buying them from the shop. It's pretty grindy and the rules are simplified. It's definitely not among the better Yugioh games, but I'd still say that there's at least some reason to play that one if you want to play a story mode that's basically "Battle City fanfic starring (You) ". LoD has nothing going for it.
agreed I also recommend shadowverse
You can only buy booster packs 1 at a time which is dumb.
The game is good if you like grinding for hours apon hours for the cards you want.
?
People don't actually play the games they shit on.
>works on my machine 😉
Still luck based and can take forever. Took me 200k just to pull the last five cards in Gong Strong pack and others.
>works on my machine 😉
It literally does 🙂
I'm really craving a new single player Yugioh game but Master Slop is getting in the way of it happening. Frick that game.
My only complaint is that the card shop doesn't follow the progression of the card game so interacting with it at all means you have xyz shit going against GX decks.
is /md/ dead
>He doesn't max out on his copies of Ecclesia in his master duel deck
You don't love her.
I don't play her at all, no.
Duel Links is more soulful if you want anime
Do you use set decks for the single-player game? I heard that this game is actually super predatory when it comes to trying to get cards to build a deck.
Yeah once the character level up gem well dries up it becomes a pain in the ass to buy new cards. Single Player is easy enough because Konami can't alienate morons that complain about any slightly difficult duel.
single player is built to be beaten by vanilla beaters and equips. you get less than 4.5k on average every month. I even took out all the staples from this deck and it is still an average of 25k
Just play Rush Duels if you want alternative format.
The new game is free, but the story mode is kind of lacking and it's Jap-only. Plus, people in Yugioh threads here get mad enough at the mention of links. Forget talking about something new. They'll drown in salt. We're killing people right now.
Isn't there also a paid version that isn't freemium?
There's a physical version that comes with the DLC included. But aside from that, I think it's all the same game. The standard (free) game comes with everything except I think it limits the number of ranked duels you can do in one day. Aside from that, the DLC is just cosmetics (some card sleeves and mats) and also gives you cards of some set which you can normally get from packs or crafting anyway. There's no premium currency. You get packs by winning duels, even in single-player, so it's the same as any other Yugioh game in that sense. Anyone wanting to play single-player would have no need for any of the DLC.
>Duel Links is more soulful
Offline mod when. Also the auto ai battling kind of fricked up multiplayer as many people don't know how to play the fricking game by that point
Am I supposed to know who these gay looking characters are
At the end of the day Master Duel is still the best one because it's updated regularly.
The presentation is god awful, it feels like a flash game compared to Master Duel.
How do you find decks that you'll like?
is it worth the $30 for some nostalgia?
not sure i can get back into it as a 30yo boomer
Yeah. The story mode does a good job of stepping you through the card game and you can get 20-30 hours out of it without even touching modern yugioh.
Is it easy to make your custom decks? Can you just use a code like this gba game?
Do you have to use the deck they give you for the single player game? Can't you just customize?
Too slow it's unplayable without speed hack
Why doesn't Konami make a stand alone roguelike card game outside of PvP like Slay the Spire, but yugioh themed? It doesn't even have to be that good, the success of their other games proves yugioh is somehow a powerful brand people will support. Throw in anime references for every season and you have something that appeals to boomers and zoomers alike.
Single-player games are probably not where the money's at anymore with this franchise. If there was money to be made, Konami would be doing it.
Problem is if you prioritize PvP games there's diminishing returns. People playing one of your PvP games aren't going to split their time grinding in your other ones. With single player games you can't expect the crazy longevity from theoretical infinite PvP matches + card pool updates, but you can expect people to play them as side games, with no FOMO rush of trying to play them before the playerbase dies out making it unplayable like a new PvP game.
Aside from Cross Duel being dead on arrival (which I'm sure surprised no one), I don't think there's diminishing returns. The games they have out right now seem to be doing fine. I'm sure Konami has done market research, and this is the conclusion that they got to. If there was money to be made by slapping together a single-player game, they would do it.
>Aside from Cross Duel being dead on arrival (which I'm sure surprised no one)
You would think so, but I've seen a bizarrely large number of anons under the deluded impression that Cross Duel would have been a massive success if only it pandered harder to muh nostalgiagays or what have you.
I have fun with Cross Duel on a casual level myself, but even putting aside a lot of the fundamental issues, it's pretty clearly confused about what kind of game it wants to be and what sort of audience it's actually trying to aim towards.
Cross duel can be fun, but it's way too expensive and the F2P experience is too restrictive.
IIRC, StS has a yugioh mod if you're into it.

neat
I wish they would just release a complete video game already. Like they've added every element that would be good, except they never put them together in the same game. WC2011 and Zexal Carnival did sleeves and boards right, WC2005 did 200 deck saves and extra formats right, Legacy did the anime characters right, Online 3 did character customization right. Why can't they just put them all in one game ffs
Wrong. It doesn't allow me to play Meklord Emperor WISEL and it's other cards like Wisel Attack, Wisel Top, ect
>Shit banlist
>Lets AI opponent have 3x every broken card
>They release the same game but with new cards a year later making you spend 120 USD if you bought it new
>Master Duel
>Play for Free
>Gives you free gems to make 1 deck of your choice
>Gives yo u 3k worth of free gems every month
MD was a way better release than Legacy Of The Scammer
>inb4 deleted and banned for talking about video games on a video game board
>banlist
>In a single player game
Did it have some unlimite mode?
No I own both copies and you are forced to adhere to a stupid banlist that got rolled out with their only single update that banned alot of cards, but left all the AI opponents decks untouched so they are running shit like PoG and Graceful while you are lucky to have one Upstart
The early game is massively stacked against you in the story mode and you find yourself losing a lot to just purely broken decks. Basically the banlist online PVP is the same for story mode for some reason. I have owned both copies and played MD and MD was really the best of the 3, it only filters morons who want their dopamine hits NOW NOW NOW or else they say its shit.
You can play unlimited anon, it's in the options menu
you free gems to make 1 deck of your choice
omg one whole deck!!
>"I DEMAND EVERY SINGLE DECK KNOWN TO MAN FOREVER AND EVER AT NO COST BECAUSE...JUST BECAUSE OK!!!!!"
Christ I hate you entitled delusional homosexuals the most at least the pirate chads just say they do it cause they can.
Mongoloid moron detected you can actually get more than that even from the beginning if you're smart and get staples fricking cope and have a nice day MD is generous as hell and I have made 15 decks since launch
Don't reply to Master Duel tards, they're just here to shit up a good YGO thread since they got kicked out of their general
Unless you're just really desperate for an official YGO console game with VRAINS characters in it, there are zero compelling reasons to play Legacy of the Duelist over virtually any other game in the franchise, be it online PvP or single-player PvE. It looks, runs, and plays like complete ass.
I see what that anon means. the thread is much worse now
Samegay
you're one of the homosexuals above fighting for your life to defend the game aren't you?
No but it's silly to get assmad at people talking about a yugioh game in a yugioh thread
all I said is that the thread got worse which it did but okay.
Why aren's Sprights and Therions part of the same archetype? Aren't they technically the same shit?
/md/ what do u think of verre?
