Try playing a racing game on keyboard with the assists turned off

Name a good racing game made in the past 15 years.

If the game has a decent amount of settings it's doable. Sims like Assetto Corsa have options like making you gradually turn when you press a key instead of turning 100% instantly and you can even tweak how quickly you turn 100%

        right here

What the frick is so hilarious about this, it's common sense. No shit you can easily play old digital input only games on keyboard easily, and plenty of people have, but that's not "any console game".

KB+M is easy mode. If you used it, you didn't beat the game. It takes skill to play games with a controller, and not everyone is capable of doing it. Have you tried playing a first person shooter on a controller? You'd realize how insanely difficult it is. Even people who are exceptional at the genre would struggle due to its high difficulty. You can keep playing on easy mode if it makes you feel better though. Games are meant to be fun after all.

i'm so close to buying one of these
i have a keychron q1 so i kinda want the q0 to match it, but 100$ for a numpad is a little crazy. I mean i did spend way more on the keyboard but I actually use that.
i only need the numpad for modded games which all seem to default to using numpad for keybinds (fricking nerds)

I have a separate numpad to accommodate my TKL, and honestly, I wish I had either just gotten a full-sized keyboard or gotten one of those meme keyboards where the numpad mechanically attaches to one side of the board (such as the Mountain Everest or the ROG Claymore). It's not bad but I move my keyboard around a lot on my desk and more often than not the keypad ends up who knows where on my desk.
I do think Southpaw (lefthand-side) keypad positioning has some interesting benefits that haven't been explored due to it always being on the righthand side of a traditional keyboard layout, and that's why I bought a TKL+numpad, to try that layout for myself.

            Anonymous

i think mine is technically 1 size down from a tkl
like a 75% or something. the keys it's missing from a tkl are basically useless to me, and any time i've needed them i just use a digital board.
UEVR modded games though frequently use numpad keybinds for menus and stuff, so what I've been doing is slaving 1 of the 3 bindings on my foot pedal to 'alt+numpad7' or whatever i need for the game.
footpedal is GOATed and are slept on. especially for VR. i need to mute my discord, boom step on pedal. I need to start screensharing, boom step on pedal.
it's also good for push to talk if you use that (or push to mute if you don't ptt)

Why doesn't Keychron have backlit keyboards?

It's the only thing missing to their otherwise near perfect keyboards.

I'm not really interested in the scary hand or a gaudy razor piece of shit with LEDs but I feel like something with decent build quality could be fun for mmos and be a poor man's hitbox for fighting games

Playing SNES games on Keyboard is hilarious.

You can map the D-Pad to WASD, L & R to Q & E and use numbad for face buttons.

Once you get used to this I bet you could play just about any console game without needing a gamepad.
