So it will be a tunnel filled with gay people. I just have zero faith in nu-Bioware, I'm sorry. They just don't make games anymore, but political manifests.
I still remember the agonizing pit in my stomach when I saw Kai Leng for the first time and realized where the writers were going with it. The only redeeming thing about that character was finding out he thought stealing people's cereal made him a master assassin.
I fucking loved Kai Leng. It was like some rejected MGS boss got confused and landed in a completely different game. Entertainingly bad is still entertaining.
That's because EA bought them while ME1 and DA1 were already in production, so they're the last true Bioware games.
Anything after those is "EA-Bioware" which is an abomination
ME peaked with 1, but I doubt nuBioware understands how to make explorable but limited planets and the mission design of 1 without it feeling like MMO bullshit again as with Inquisition
Basically nothing other than that one teaser with Liara that some people interpret as her being aged up implying a lengthy time skip. But who knows. The main thing is ME5 isn't happening until after Dreadwolf and won't happen at all if Dreadwolf is a flop.

Even less people played the female version of the greek asscreed protagonist and she was still made the "canon" version by ubisoft.

If we’re not playing as Shepard they’ll probably let us choose their gender at the beginning, like in the comics at the start of 2 and 3 if you don’t import a save.

>Shepard is going to do a mind jump from ME3's ending to the start of Mass Effect 1 when he artifact touches on Eden Prime and you'll be forced into alternate choices that change how the OG trilogy goes forward.
That would actually be pretty fun so it's not going to happen.
I wish someone else would get hold of the ME franchise, it's interesting filled with cool ideas and aliens but it's being developed by talentless retards with no joy or passion for what they're making.
That would be beyond kino. Holy shit what a perfect way to reboot the game, newfags can experience it fresh and experienced players can use their knowledge to push interesting outcomes.
I’m guessing that a geth faction somehow survived the destroy ending and want revenge on Shepard/the galaxy for choosing to destroy them. That seems like the most likely premise for a story.
Yeah but it also made a point that the Geth became Reaper tech to survive. The Crucible kills any and all Reaper tech. Basically the “Destroy” ending was the antithesis to your own statement.

maybe by the half way point
you probably meet with some kind of andromeda expeditionary crew send out back to milky way requesting help against the same big bad guys who once wiped out jaardan heleus cluster
it's at his point they will probably revive shepard

I wasn’t a fan of Andromeda’s Ubisoft tier open worlds. 2 has much better pacing and moment-to-moment gameplay without wasting time driving across mostly empty maps to do filler side content.
And let’s be real, no one ever played this series for the exploration. They played it for the interesting setting and characters.
>I have a good feeling about this game
There isn't anyone left in the world with the kind of life experience required to make good games. It's all fucking millennials now who never grew up and don't know their head from their ass.
Larian has mogged Bioware for the last decade, and they will continue to mog them until EA finally takes Bioware out back and puts them out of their misery.
>Acting as if their studio won't be shutdown after Dreadwolf launches a bug-ridden unpolished mess and labelled a disappointment after their very own audience have higher standards in the wake of BG3
It's fucking over for them. They didn't even have the nerve to dare suggest that maybe the director should be someone that has a successful history of leading and instead remained quiet while their jobs are in the hands of someone who has only worked on The Sims.
Didn't they just fire 50 employees who were mostly veterans at the company, I'm thinking they'd be lucky if the a game from bioware comes out at all in the next 2 years.
DA:I played perfectly at release. So did 2.
And they keep being successful.
So basically the reason you think it will fail, against all odds, is because it seems a chud is working on the game while you're flipping burgers?
> And they keep being successful.
NTA but are they? DA2 was cut to bits to sell a shitload of DLC shit, the game was such a backwards step that DA:I (the original DA2) took fucking forever to come out (and with a shit online tacked on) and THAT did so well that it put DA on life support.
>I have a good feeling about this game
Why? The people who made Bioware are all gone. It's literally a different company using their name at this point.
don't care, didn't even grow up with the series, played the Legendary Edition and found the first game's writing to be total garbage, didn't even try 2 or 3.
I'm guessing people were just that thirsty back in 2007?
I liked all the mass effect games. Brilliant stuff. I don;t think you played them. Is all this want to belong whine posting trying to sneer games down just bots'? In most cases it does not seem like the posters have even played the games with the rare exception
[...]
I hope they do it exactly as in Mass Effect 1. It was fun as fuck to explore those little set pieces, I wish the whole game was built like that.
>I hope they do it exactly as in Mass Effect 1. It was fun as fuck to explore those little set pieces, I wish the whole game was built like that.
And you all sound fucking cloned of same sort of banned from reddit 2016 nasal whining must belong effort posting. I'd say most of you were in diapers when mass effect released
I don't think (You) played them if you thing ME3 was a satisfying or quality sequel. It was quite literally rushed out the door, having a fraction of the development time of ME1 or 2 and it shows quite blatantly. ME3 sucked ass because the writing was retarded, most of the side missions were lazy filler fetch quest bullshit, and the enemy variety was embarrassingly small.
Really? Despite the fact that they didn’t know how to develop anything in it? They needed to have a Frost engine advisor get them through the development because of how fucked they were.
ME1 they CHOSE the engine to work with. By the time EA picked thrm up, EA decided to have the nice, crisp Frostbite visuals to grace Mass Effect despite the fact that it was not supposed to be used for RPG’s either.
>Ex-BioWare boss Aaryn Flynn has clarified that EA did not force the developer to use the Frostbite engine which caused many of Mass Effect: Andromeda’s development issues. >“It was our decision. We had been wrapping up Mass Effect 3 and we just shipped Dragon Age II and we knew that our Eclipse engine, that we shipped DAII on, wasn’t going to cut it for the future iterations of Dragon Age,” Flynn clarified. “It couldn’t do open world, the renderer wasn’t strong enough, those were the two big ones. We thought about multiplayer as well, as Eclipse was single-player only. >“We talked internally about three options. We could have burned down Eclipse and started something new internally, we could have gone with Unreal Engine, or we could have picked Frostbite which had shown some really promising results on the rendering side of things and it was multiplayer enabled.”
Cut the crap, it was solely a Bioware decision because they wanted to capitalize on multiplayer and frostbite was much better for this task than unreal back then.

Imagine thinking that multiplayer on BW games weren’t forced mandates. Fucking ME3 online has a gacha system and so does Inquisition online ffs.

Bonus points, ME3 online had mobile app capabilities to fully whore out multi media ME bullshit that EA was pumping out. To think that BW wanted ANYTHING to do with online, or multiplayer enabled shit is beyond me.
>passion, energy, incredible
at this point i'm positve that every corporate dick sucking post on the internet is written by bots. they are all exactly the same, and use the exact same words, to say absolutely nothing
The only thing giving me some shred of hope is that the lead writer wrote Deus Ex Human Revolution/Mankind Divided and the Guardians of the Galaxy game
BioWare has been dead for TWELVE YEARS now. I remember when people used to cope that "the Dragon Age II guys are a different team, these are the good developers". It's time to let it go.
They’d require at least half the old crew and a lot of years and less publisher meddling. Which is what caused every game to get shittier as the years went on. ME2 and DA2 were examples of just publisher killing their IP’s with mandates and shit.
bioware allowing the Legendary Edition to be released in the state it was tells you everyting you need to know about how the new mass effect game will be. When it realeses in 8 years.
Aaaaah yes, the piss yellow tint filter. Kino
Honestly that planet and few other places is where the game actually has decent color tone to everything in the entire fucking game.
>it's worse because it has indirect lighting and that's bad somehow >I don't actually know how lighting works so I think a single light source and high contrast is good
Filtered retards.
Reminder that it's been 6 years since the last game, 3 years since the teaser and mass effect is still in preproduction. If Dreadwolf fails bioware is done and their franchises along with it because EA is cringe
Wasn't Dreadwolf Canceled? Honestly everything about Cisquisition was Andromeda tier, idk why people were so suprised when the latter came out and was complete and utter fucking dog shit. The whole Tevinter game could have been interested, if the gameplayed stayed like in Origins, not like it is now. And the whole le ebin ancient wolf god what ever the fuck is shit, I can't believe they are so creatively bankrupt they would double down on such shit concept. Anders Breivik in D2 was more interesting
Origins is the closest we got to a modern infinity engine game until Pillars of Eternity, which itself lead to an influx of CRPGs despite only being decent.
>You're better off selling to IP to Eidos-Montreal
EA would never do that. If/when BioWare dies they’re just going to hand the ip to either Respawn or Motive, and I’d rather have Respawn.
>Respawn
Lol Back in the Titanfall days that probably mattered. Nobody cares about the Apex devs or why the fuck would anyone want an RPG license to go to Shooter devs?
You act like making a TPS is a hard thing they have plenty of experience making FPS games so it would be easy for them
They have a similar formula with visiting multiple planets and a cast of misfits you gather together, all they need to do is sprinkle in some RPG elements with character customization and choices and I think they can make a decent ME game
It all depends on the writers more than anything else of course
So it will be a tunnel filled with gay people. I just have zero faith in nu-Bioware, I'm sorry. They just don't make games anymore, but political manifests.
>Implying Bioware won't be getting the Visceral treatment before then
Motherfuckers are getting downsized while they're still working on the next Dragon Age.
It's not the same Bioware, i'd rather this project die and let the good games sit comfy in the memories of my youth. Whatever product these people with release will amount to a soulless husk of Mass Effect IP.
They took one good look at Starflop and Andromeda and realized that open world space games can’t really work with a limited budget. You either make it laughably unbelievable or make it feel empty. Sticking to curated hub worlds is your best bet.
What ultimately killed Bioware from a money perspective was a series of abandoned internal projects that went nowhere but cost the developer money, then Andromeda's being a flop, then Anthem being an even bigger flop. For all the criticism they had taken from fans, they were doing fine from DA:I and earlier.
Andromeda and Anthem’s development wasted years trying to figure out what to do too. Like for Andromeda they wanted procedurally generated planets only to scrap everything they had late in development and rushing to release anything at all.
Based. Return to Mass Effect 2 quality please. No big barren wastelands you have to explore for side quests like ME1, and no tiny uninteresting hub areas like in ME3. Give me large and interesting hub areas with lots of content like ME1 Citadel, or like ME2 Omega (but bigger). Give me plenty of side quests with small pre-made instances that take like 10 minutes to complete before going to the next one like ME2 side missions. We are so back ME sisters.
ME 4 should take place a few years after end of ME3
technically either control or destroy could be canon
since synthesis is just mass rape on a galatic scale right down to your DNA
in case of control ending they could say
shepards personality fought hard but couldn't resist reaper influence for long so shepard used last of his consciousness to order all repears to dark space
so now liara and probably cerebrus too has maybe some kind of memories of Shepard that they upload to a new cloneof Shepard
effectively bringing back alive with memories before the final battle
In destroy ending Shepard wakes from coma after being found alive in now repiard citadel
(Even by the end of ME3 destroy ending if you had high EMS they show citadel being operational again)
>Not "Mas5 Effect"
Hope it flops
Jk, it will never come out. DA4 bombing will kill BW because there is no more Swtor to at least gain some more money for daddy EA. BW is just one big minus now.
DA4 like Starfield will be too big to fail no matter how shit it is. Starfield was utter trash but it made bank, so will DA4, just like Inquisition was their best selling game to date, it's all about the marketing strategy and getting legacy fans to come back. If it's got Solas in it, which it does, then that ensures all of the Inquisition fanbase buys it because they want to finish that part of their story.
Not so sure. All DA fans are boomers now because it has been so long. I am one of the few ones left and am turned of by their politics shit so I'll pirate it at best anyway. No zoomer has any idea what the fuck a Dragon Age is and if they see the "4" they check the first one, see old ass graphics and run away
>DA4 will be too big to fail no matter how shit it is
I'm sure people thought the same about Mass Effect before Andromeda happened.
Even if you ignore the likely terrible writing, Dreadwolf will probably be a technical disaster with how badly its development is going.
I really doubt that, the game has been restarted too many times and is probably going to be an absolute dumpsterfire by the time it comes out (if it ever does, rumor is the entire project may be canned altogether), and there's just not any real good will left for Bioware games, all the old fans are jaded, old, and cynical about their products, and no younger people even know or care about these franchises.
Even if DA4 flops
EA won't kill bioware because there is more money to be made
after all the legendary edition "remaster" proved it
they will keep them around until they can bleed the ME franchise dry
Dragon Age as a franchise has been dead for a while
ME still has a large and active fanbase
Odd enough that they won't release DA:O and 2 remasters before DA4 but I wonder how they wanna handle Oghren. ME was made rainbow friendly just by shifting a few camera angles but Oghren is an impossible fucking character now lmao
I'm not so sure, if they assess that Bioware can't deliver a finished product anymore, they may just kill the studio and find someone else to develop the ME franchise.
>I have a good feeling a - ACK
>Nobody has posted Andromeda webms yet.
Fpbp
Also this.
Mass effect ere great games. Your sad retarded 4chan an chud shit obsessions is really fucking stale anon

>not "Bioware is b-ACK"
I read that as "we're making it like da2"
but the first games were open world
Only 1 did and it was entirely optional
I hope they do it exactly as in Mass Effect 1. It was fun as fuck to explore those little set pieces, I wish the whole game was built like that.
Hub worlds are not open world. Learn the difference.
They’re talking about the uncharted worlds. Retard.
Still not open world, retard.
back to its roots! oh my god! that's like... so real and genuine, 10/10
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
YEEEEEEEEES
You mean back to the quality of Dragon Age 2 and Mass effect 3? I sure can't wait.
Bioware's last decent games were Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 1, everything afterward is dogshit
Their last truly good game is Jade Empire
Used to love 2 but in retrospect so much of the writing’s on the wall for how they took all the wrong lessons from 1 and the EA deal
Jade Empire was ok at best and mid by the final act. Even KOTOR was better and its slower paced.
ME 1 isn't as good as the sequels simply because it's a bigger pain in the ass to actually play
that means you need to go back
The truth is that their last good game was KotOR. They literally haven't made a good game in over 20 years.
ME peaked with 1, but I doubt nuBioware understands how to make explorable but limited planets and the mission design of 1 without it feeling like MMO bullshit again as with Inquisition
Mind-broken, goy-slop addicted, zoomer retard.
>He's unironically excited about a fucking bioware release
You gays never learn
Dumb article, 1 was more open world than 3.
What do we know about me5 so far?

Yeah but it also made a point that the Geth became Reaper tech to survive. The Crucible kills any and all Reaper tech. Basically the “Destroy” ending was the antithesis to your own statement.

Not by much. It had terrible legs compared to Origins.

Overt space racism? I'll believe it when I see it.

Andromeda had open world planets but that was a dogshit idea.
>I have a good feeling about this game
Why? The people who made Bioware are all gone. It's literally a different company using their name at this point.
didn't bioware just have a round of layoffs?
Yeah. Now they have maybe one good writer left
Correct and if we are to believe the tweets no one of the old guard works there now.
i thought mac walters was the last of the big mass effect people, and he quit ages ago
Anon might mean of all staff not even just the big names, as in even testers and QA staff, that this is a ship of theseus now, nothing is left.
Yeah like 50 people including one of the last original writers from Dragon Age Origins. Now that gay Patrick Weekes is the only one they have left.
I have not found a single developer yet working on this that wasn't some kind of far leftoid or token LGBT rep
considering andromeda and starfield next mass effect is going to be an utter trash

Yeah okay but ME3 was still good and it's even better with mods now
ME3 was a half-assed game with a ton of story threads that ended very unsatisfyingly
I liked all the mass effect games. Brilliant stuff. I don;t think you played them. Is all this want to belong whine posting trying to sneer games down just bots'? In most cases it does not seem like the posters have even played the games with the rare exception
What roots? Andromeda was as Mass Effect as you can get. That was not the problem with the game at all.
>back
bioware was never good. mass effect was never good.
What happened to Mass Effect 4?
Daily reminder that Andromeda was dumbed down on purpose for no apparent reason.
I think this happens because they had to change their engine mid development. No idea why they made the new version look so colorfully ugly, though.
That's an old legend. Bioware were the ones to decide using frostbite before starting development.
Really? Despite the fact that they didn’t know how to develop anything in it? They needed to have a Frost engine advisor get them through the development because of how fucked they were.
It was a new team and chances are they didn't know how to use unreal engine either, since it wasn't regarded as the default game engine back then.
ME1 they CHOSE the engine to work with. By the time EA picked thrm up, EA decided to have the nice, crisp Frostbite visuals to grace Mass Effect despite the fact that it was not supposed to be used for RPG’s either.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/bioware-ea-frostbite-engine
Don’t worry guys Mass Effect is in good hands.
>passion, energy, incredible
at this point i'm positve that every corporate dick sucking post on the internet is written by bots. they are all exactly the same, and use the exact same words, to say absolutely nothing
The only thing giving me some shred of hope is that the lead writer wrote Deus Ex Human Revolution/Mankind Divided and the Guardians of the Galaxy game
Don't get too excited, she was the "Narrative lead" Mankind Divided and the Guardians of the Galaxy game ie, an idea person.
I’ll take what I can get. Those games had good ideas.
> 2023 Bioware
> Hope.
Why are you doing this to yourself anon?
How can you have any faith in any of these companies?
BioWare has been dead for TWELVE YEARS now. I remember when people used to cope that "the Dragon Age II guys are a different team, these are the good developers". It's time to let it go.
>for TWELVE YEARS
The last good game they released was 16 years ago.
>tfw no Tali gf
The only way to save the sequel is to bring back Drew Karpyshyn
He’s busy working on another vaporware Sci-Fi RPG
They’d require at least half the old crew and a lot of years and less publisher meddling. Which is what caused every game to get shittier as the years went on. ME2 and DA2 were examples of just publisher killing their IP’s with mandates and shit.
It will be shit anyway. Only chance they have is to reboot the series from 2 and do it properly this time.
Closed world GODS we won... but at what cost
maybe they fired hamburger helper, thats not a huge loss for them
bioware allowing the Legendary Edition to be released in the state it was tells you everyting you need to know about how the new mass effect game will be. When it realeses in 8 years.
What about ingame screenshots?
>ingame
even worse
>no red sky
What a bunch of fags, it was so cool the first time you played and saw the Sovereign.
Hellscape created by a eldritch machine god entity VS morning jog vibes
right is objectively better
yeah if the person judging is objectively a tasteless gay
Aaaaah yes, the piss yellow tint filter. Kino
Honestly that planet and few other places is where the game actually has decent color tone to everything in the entire fucking game.
ME2 was very kino, legendary edition of course ruined all of it.
Looks better on my legendary edition
>ME2 was very kino,
ME2 is shit without story.
Disgusting.
Fixed
>that arm clipping
you really goon to this?
Based
legendary edition was a crime against humanity
>it's worse because it has indirect lighting and that's bad somehow
>I don't actually know how lighting works so I think a single light source and high contrast is good
Filtered retards.
Since this is a Bioware thread, is it worth playing through DA:I?
I will be buying for my waifu Liara T'soni! I want blue kids!
Probably end up being very shitty, but still better than Starfield
Let's face it even nuEABioware on a bad day can write better stories than Bethesda.
Reminder that it's been 6 years since the last game, 3 years since the teaser and mass effect is still in preproduction. If Dreadwolf fails bioware is done and their franchises along with it because EA is cringe
Mass Effect franchise is still big despite MEA. Dragon Age franchise is barely alive at this point.
>and their franchises along with it
Nothing will stop EA whoring out ME to EA Motive or something to figure out what to do with it.
>whoring out ME to EA Motive
God I hope not. Reminder that EA Motive is comprised of remnants from Bioware Montreal
Anders Breivik in D2 was more interesting
>the gameplayed stayed like in Origins,
*puke*
Origins is the closest we got to a modern infinity engine game until Pillars of Eternity, which itself lead to an influx of CRPGs despite only being decent.
>Wasn't Dreadwolf Canceled?
all but in name yeah, they won't outright say it was because that kills any chance they get with other IPs getting sales
The best thing that can happen to Mass Effect is BioWare dying and the ip being given to Respawn
Why do people want the Mass Effect IP to be given to Respawn. You're better off selling to IP to Eidos-Montreal
Their Star Wars games are alright they can do a fun space adventure
I wouldn’t mind a Mass Effect FPS either
>You're better off selling to IP to Eidos-Montreal
EA would never do that. If/when BioWare dies they’re just going to hand the ip to either Respawn or Motive, and I’d rather have Respawn.
>Respawn
Lol Back in the Titanfall days that probably mattered. Nobody cares about the Apex devs or why the fuck would anyone want an RPG license to go to Shooter devs?
They aren’t just one team they also made Star Wars Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor
>Soul wars
Neither one has ANYTHING to do with ME gameplay or anything resembling even any of its role playing elements.
They just don't make games anymore, but political manifests.
> tunnel filled with gay people
>BioWare expects to be alive after DA4
>if that ever even gets out the door in the first place
There's literally 0% chance of it being even remotely good.
Their old writers may bring up something not bad.
The old writers are all gone
old writers left before or during ME2's development.
That's like saying "Bringing back these old war veterans, will surely win us this losing war"
>losing war
Let's wait for gameplay videos first. I know there's not much hope though.
The tempered with the mass effect remaster and removed the asscam. I have no hope left for bioware.
Good.
Exciting, creative set pieces have ALWAYS been better than open world.
they really need to stop making these shit games
I'm about to take a shit and I'm going to call it mass effect 6, are you hyped?
https://vocaroo.com/1EwXk1yxZNlL
They took one good look at Starflop and Andromeda and realized that open world space games can’t really work with a limited budget. You either make it laughably unbelievable or make it feel empty. Sticking to curated hub worlds is your best bet.
>bioware is back
check who's in charge of dragon age 4 a literal chud
Really? well there goes my hopes for the series.
The american video game industry is terminally infected.
It need one big crash to wipe out all the chud woke mind virus.
Gaming has never been better. You're the infection. You're virus.
Copy pasted hallway simulator? A triumph! Bioware is back bros!
I have no real snarky comment so I'll just post this.
I'm fine with that.
You know you're going to be whining about woke shit and get upset at the reddit writing, why are you getting your hopes up for this game?
They should create a story with no connection to the first games. No memberberries
Given how poorly received Andromeda was and how long it has been since the original trilogy, only memberberries can revive the series now.
Who’s making this game? The original 2007 devs surely don’t work there anymore and the Andromeda team got axed right?
>Is back
they still have trannies tho.
I don't, in fact i think this will be another trainwreck of diversity and MCU tier quips.
It's gonna be a baldur's gate 3 clone with the map design 100%.
we all know it's gonna be chuded out to hell
>Your sad retarded 4chan an chud shit obsessions is really fucking stale anon
Same fagging yourself. Fucking sad anon. Consider the rope.
weird how this only ever gets said to me, a nobody anon, and not any of these slop producing companies
Back from what? The grave? Bioware's been dead for a long time and I don't think anyone wants to see that corpse.
>putting her in full clothing
>giving her orange spray tan
what the fuck are you retards doing to my beautiful reverse corruption tradwife Jacqueline?
>DA:0 ,2 remasters
not happening
something to do with source code or the engine
they can't just use AI and upscle it like they did with ME
I'm not so sure, if they assess that Bioware can't deliver a finished product anymore, they may just kill the studio and find someone else to develop the ME franchise.
