How is it that sweeney complains about valves
marketplace but their own marketplace sold directly to developers is even more uncurated and open to theft and scams?
Both china and Tim have chosen not to believe in the concept of hypocrisy.
>not my problem
Never trust a man with a head that is 90% neck
How do you make a Dark Souls/Elden Ring clone and not notice that the animations you grabbed are 1:1?
If you're buying animations then chances are you aren't paying too much attention to animations, anon
I will never understand this argument, you can't expect someone to remember what every animation looks like, I play these games (a lot) and I don't remember every single animation.
You stupid chud shill. You absolute waste of oxygen. They stole the most iconic animations from Souls games.
Malenia's waterfowl, the whole Abyss Watchers set including the infamous Farron breakdance, Lady Maria's, etc.
Anyone who played these games even once remembers these. These aren't some random enemy's death animation (although they also stole these lmfao).
>Anyone who played these games even once remembers these
I don't
Dumb adhd retard
Still better than being a basement dwelling nerd
Lol nerd, nobody that's even remotely normal and sane gives enough of a shit about that to remember.
You don't understand anon, if you have played these games there is absolutely no way you may not remember every single animation because when you see them they will be burned into your memory until you die
>gay anon expects everyone to remember every animation from every game because he watches all of them on repeat with an autostic focus
Lol kys nerd
Anon, the Bleak Faith character that they applied the Abyss Watcher animations to even visually looks like a cheap version of the Abyss Watchers. That's not a coincidence, they 100%, objectively knew what these animations were when they slapped them in their game.
>be fan of series
>MAKE YOUR OWN CLONE
>pretend you havent seen the animations before
doesnt add up. anyone who is a fan enough ti make a clone knows what theyre doing. you got caught stealing and your game is going to tank because of it, such is life.
They noticed, they just hoped customers wouldn't.
It's bought animations. The problem lies in who owns the copyright. They have no knowledge if Fromsoftware made the animations from scratch (to which they'd be the owners) or if the place they bought it from did (which would make the store the copyright owners). That's why the apology letter in OP's pic makes a point to say "they state they cannot verify the copyright of the animation". It's plausible, though ridiculously improbable, that all of Fromsoftware's animations for Elden Ring were bought from a third party rather than made in house, but rather than dick around to see if that's the case they'd just rather sidestep it by doing their own shit instead.
>They have no knowledge if Fromsoftware made the animations from scratch (to which they'd be the owners) or if the place they bought it from did (which would make the store the copyright owners).
Gee, I wonder if FromSoft bought animations from a pack that was only published after their game was released.
I don't think it matters what your TOS is. they're responsible for selling copyright material and can get taken to court over it.
>They have no knowledge if Fromsoftware made the animations from scratch
dog it copied shit like the move set of the abyss watchers. ofc From made their own animations for a boss fight.
If they can make new animations to replace the stolen ones in just a few days like they claim they will, why didn't they just make them in the first place?
They're just buying a different animation pack.
I don't even know what that means. Did ER purchase their animations on the epic store? Or did some gay rip them and sold them there?
The latter, and the devs are now pretending that they didn't know they were stolen from DaS3/ER.
Closer to the latter. But I don't think they bought those animations from the Epic Marketplace. I doubt there is a Dark Souls or Elden Ring or whatever animation pack for sale there. They just used ripped animations they downloaded somewhere for free. And now that they got caught, they're trying to shift the blame to Epic.
Nobody believe you Tim.
>some guys rips animations from Elden Ring and puts them up for sale on Epic store
>Dev making a souls-like buys them because they look like a good fit for their game
>FROMDRONES autistically sperg about stolen assets and how the dev is FUCKED
>In reality they will just replace the animations with different ones
You're all caught up.
Wait the devs are replacing the animations? Why would they kneel to Ganker? Fucking cuck devs, I thought they had a backbone.
What does it have to do with Ganker? If the animations are from Elden Ring, you either replace them or risk lawsuit.
Ganker caused this whole mess, even the game journalists used clips that were made here. The devs getting forced to replace their animations that they referenced is unfair.
Wasn't aware of that first bit. Doesn't change anything though, there's nothing unfair about needing to replace stolen assets. Whether they knew or not doesn't really matter, since they certainly know now.
What about the evangelion copyright infringement
That looks good.
What about the Evangelion and Code Vein plagiarism?
Plagiarism doesn't mean shit. As long as the assets aren't direct rips of work that someone else did, no one cares.
Ya know it's so incredibly easy to tell which of you tards work in fast food or some other low iq or otherwise shifty worthless job.
>As long as the assets aren't direct rips of work that someone else did, no one cares.
That's literally what plagiarism you retard.
>As long as the assets aren't direct rips of work that someone else did
they are though
I could give a fuck about the animations. What I care about is having it run normal with a controller.
>game releases in shitty state
>the devs are patching it daily guys! it's all good
I fucking despise that this is what the gaming industry at large has become.
