    >just make the game for us lmao
It's really fucking frustrating honestly, I had fun with what was there but they could have made it so much better so easily and instead they decided to be lazy with it and make everything revolve around trying to get people to make content for the game. I can only hope for their sake and for mine that people do decide to latch on and make mods regardless of what the base game was like, or this will have all been a complete waste.

How the fuck did they look at the moon and pillar climb level and thought "Yeah, this looks good" ?

It's like they just completely stopped giving a shit with some of these levels, like they were confident that people were just going to jump into modding the game so they thought it didn't matter what the actual overall quality of the vanilla campaign was, people would just make their own better levels anyways. People really hate pillar climb but I think the Moon is way worse honestly. They couldn't even be assed to come up with an actual level, nothing to do with the small cat-man they're making you play as, they just plop you in a sandbox, tell you exactly where to go to move to the next level, and you walk there with absolutely nothing else happening.

They fell for the VR meme

Its a really fun game and the physics are awesome, but the visuals are really dull and these just not enough for a full hame without multiplayer. Feels like a good proof of concept. If they jazzed up the visuals and actually made a game, it would be a hit.

Meta gave stress level gays massive piles of money to gimp their game to work on a mobile device

Why the fuck is it ten bucks more expensive than Boneworks then? We're literally paying more for less content, incomplete modding tools, and arguably mostly the same game. What the fu k were they doing these couple of years if this is the shit they came up with? Trying to make it work on the Quest?

Did we pay 40 dollars to subsidize the port?

    >Release game that is entirely reliant on Modding
    >Don't release the Mod tools at launch
What I don't understand is why the surprise dropped it when no one was even anticipating it dropping so soon. They must be strapped for cash, only win is for Quest 2 owners who don't have a PC.

Besides the fact they released VR Gmod with none of the tools yet, what really pisses me off is how they have no sense for when it's appropriate to have thinks secret and hidden away.
    >Unlockable sandbox weapons and props around corners and easily missed paths
    This is great
    >3/4ths of the campaign hidden behind a crane game with no instructions or indication where the crane itself is hidden atop a staircase behind 5 different game modes
This is literally just bad design. I don't want to fiddle around in unfinished game modes that are still waiting on the tools necessary to flesh them out before I unlock core mechanics like body swapping and new weapons.

SLZ literally only knew how to make semi-fun jank VR physics. Beyond that they are proven incapable of fleshed out world building, actual enemy AI, level design, or anything really. They are just one of the better VR Whacky Gun range sword whaggling sandbox makers trying to act like they're more.

Overhyped like Boneworks. This shit just felt like another proof of concept tech demo like the first, it genuinely isn't much better, basically a DLC. Like fuck, with the bowling alley they could've at least put up a score board or something, or had more fun secrets in areas that weren't just duck down in vent and find a cardboard box item unlock, it's all so lazy. Glad I played it for free, maybe I'll give it a couple months to a year before I get it and hope it has a modding scene like blade and sorcery at least by then

It should have been a non linear game about making your way through Bone city to the Time tower to fuck and/or fight Ford after he uses some void power bullshit to take over the simulation.

I genuinely gave the devs the benefit of the doubt because they needed to build the engine and mechanics first so they didn't have the time to fully dedicate it to the campaign in Boneworks.

But after playing Bonelab I am convinced that they are actually just fucking complete retards when it comes to actual game design. The physics and IK body tech? Neat. Great. Impressive even. Everything else? Made by absolute mouthbreathers.
