Try playing the game before you disrespect it.
Not an argument
Yes it is you stale crusty turd.
There is more to the writing than le nature of le man.
The whole setting, the side characters and companions all bring their interesting little stories.
Not an argument
You said this yesterday you fucking homosexual
the absolute state
this vn doesn't even qualify as a game
Yeah, it's an interactive piece of media where the goal is to win after each encounter by choosing the right spells/attacks/actions...
Fuck off back to plebbit and have a nice day, retarded newfag
>planeshitters can't make a single argument to defend their game
Bruh
it's got lots of big words ok?
>nooo you HAVE to debate with me about this on an anime website
I'm just here to laugh
My favorite eceleb said it's the best game ever, I don't have to defend it, duh.
It's been highly regarded and loved for over 20 years. People still discuss it despite forgetting games from 2 weeks ago. It still has one of the most charming characters, humor, engaging dialogue and interesting settings in vidya.
>planecucks can only repeat "everyone likes it so it must be good"
Prove you care about being proven wrong.
Yes, this isn't science, it's art. It's quality is measured in how and why it's stull valued after such a long time. It's not like peope realizing the earth is round. There's no objective revalation that will suddenly make people who value it suddenly think it's shit.
It's true that human nature can change. Natural selection and artificial selection do these things, all the time. Ever since the Industry Revolution, we've started to select less and less along our basic survival lines. All the people who would normally be carrying bad genetics, would have died or not had many kids, to allow those bad genes to continue.
There's some truth to what the people who are saying that humans are devolving. It's crude language, and a bad way to describe evolution, but the point is still true.
At best, an individual can break a few habits, but most of the important factors are genetic. Fortunately, the people with a lot of the bad genes are the people who believe in abortion and not having kids, so it's a self-correcting problem, even when we have modern medicine and agriculture.
>to allow those bad genes to continue.
>*and wouldn't allow those bad genes to continue.
Should have read it, before posting.
>the people who would normally be carrying bad genetics, would have died or not had many kids, to allow those bad genes to continue.
This is a silly argument since bad genes have been allowed to exist since pre-history due to our group based nature, the problem is that this issue isn't that straight forward.
>since bad genes have been allowed to exist since pre-history
This is still hard to believe.
Why? We even have examples of Neanderthals nurturing their sick and disabled.
the question isn't about human nature, it's about the nature of a man, a single grown person going against what they are
>the question isn't about human nature, it's about the nature of a man
same thing
belief literally shapes reality in the planescape setting
Of all the games that more and more people on Ganker are starting to hate on, it's pathetic to see them hating on Planescape.
It's not that good, anon. It's put on a pedestal because it's one of the first games that prioritised writing over gameplay, written by someone who went on to become the default Good Writer in the videogaming world.
It relies heavily on the not-too-alien nature of Planescape as a setting, and the deliberate inversion and subversions of common fantasy tropes, to cover up how shallow the writing can be at times. I mean, one of the big revelations in the game is that people only follow your character because he's got a magic rune that literally compels unhappy people to tag along with him. That was Avellone's big idea to explain why everyone but Dakkon and Ignus follow you around like lovesick puppies on a quest that means nothing to them. Magic did it.
nope, it's great
the pasta is decent but you should work on it a bit more. magic does a lot of things in planescape after all
it's just contrarianism for its own sake, many people here give the appearance they don't even know anything about the game since they believe the focus is on some deep philosophical experience
When I downloaded this game it came with a 60 page PDF of the “optimal” story. I tried playing and every conversation took 20 minutes, it genuinely made me sleepy.
Name a more fun game from the same year.
the fact westoids still wank slop that old and not something newer is really telling
oh wait, the only thing that's new they have shilled is tranny's gate 3, maybe they are better off wanking old slop
Quake? UT?
Gameplay aged like shit. No story, characters and boring setting.
BAHAHAHAHHAA
I'm still on the first area
its so slooooooow
>journal updated
I get blade runner vibes from it for some reason
What is he looking at
you guys recommended it to me and i fucking love it.
i barely went out of the morgue, talked to some people and entered a bar with a burning dude and i didnt notice that 6 horus have passed, the game sucked me in super hard.
same thing happened with disco elysium, im sucked into the world so hard i dont notice the passage of time.
are there any other games like planescape torment and disco elysium?
arcanum is usually put on par but not sure how well it runs on anything modern. probably mods to fix it
i will check these out, thanks lads!
its a breath of fresh air after playing so many cringe slops lately, BG3 almost made me quit DND altogether.
can confirm it runs well with the troika patch and the unofficial fan patch; can add a widescreen mod too.
I fucking love Arcanum so much, we'll never get another low INT game this well done ever again
hopefully its not too complicated, im kind of a retard when it comes to fiddling with these things.
i still cant turn on Max Payne 1, im too stupid.
It's fairly straightforward, just check out the guides on Steam on what to download and how to set it up
>these awesome dialogues
they just dont make games like these anymore....
Yeah they do, have you played Baldur's Gate 3
You won't find many as well written but you might enjoy Sanitarium and Pathologic.
If you like the post-apocalyptic setting then try your hand at Fallout 2, it was my first CRPG and I loved it. I don't think it gets better than Planescape though, still give the others a try like Arcanum, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, and honestly even KOTOR
>KOTOR
does it work fine on modern machines?
its a good game
and i have no idea, anon, but
you should go back right now
how buck broken can OP get
How did TNO regrow his arm?
How did the asshole TNO know about that after the next few incarnations he wouldn't lose his memories?
