Used to love playing Eye of the Beholder on the SNES but it scared me since I was really young so I could only play in short bursts before I became too scared.
>corporate shills be like damn how u enjoy these actually good games with actually visually pleasing art? the graphics so bad no cap >please pay 70$+50 for our remake/remaster
Isn't that pretty much proto-Heretic? Never actually played it myself. Will change that now, thanks.
Based.
It's more of an action game than a traditional blobber. Still pretty cool though.
>Vaporum
It's even on sale right now. Will check it out, thanks.

Oh yeah, Stonekeep. Never played it. Gonna check that one out, too. Thanks.
Stonekeep came with this rad book I read to my little sister as a bed time story. The game itself was quite annoying at times, and sometimes outright unfair. But it, like all those older fmv-based games, oozes soul.
what was the name of the game that was like this, but in a dungeon? starts in some hallways where you look at portraits on the walls to choose your heros
Dungeonmaster was great. I had chaos strikes back on my ste when I was like 6 or something. I used to draw naked women as the portraits.
Dad found out and used them as his party, then told mom that he drew them so I wouldn't get in trouble.
My brother and I also played bloodwych co-op which was fricking cool. But there was never enough food for a two player game.
In recent time, the three biggest franchises were Legend of Grimrock (1/2), Vaporum/Vaporum Lockdown, and Operencia.
Grimrock is fantastic, both of them. Vaporum (1/Lockdown) is meh, hugely crippled by the fact that you only control single character. Lockdown is a lot more refined and generally better, but I still feel like these games did not really understand the potential of these dungeon crawlers.
Operencia is interesting, but I only played a bit ot it. Apparently, it has some ballance issues in later game.
In classic lineup, you definitely want to try Dungeon Master 1/2, which were the direct inspirations to Grimrock.
Westwood games had some of the best art.
Music too. Klepacki was an absolute master.
I miss eob and lands of lore (2 was the best in both series, despite their flaws) those games were made with soul in mind.

Played through it recently
Still holds up
Problem is with 2 I couldn't find a better weapon that what the end game of 1 gave me so it was a weird equipment gap between 1 and 3
I guess you're supposed to create a new party but the continue the adventure option is there for a reason
>corpo entity mad we won't buy their shitty AAA game, and instead continue playing based vintage games we already paid for
my backlog may be shrinking, but my cash isn't b***h
I just want a Dungeon Master remake with good graphics. Don't tell me to use any mod for an existing game they use shitty JRPG levelling systems in todays games I want the real fricking deal.
Ok anons, recommend me both new and old crawlies, ive played Grimrock 1 and liked it. The etrian series, Kings field/shadow tower series and Smt strange journey. What can you recommend?
Lunacid is still in EA, but it has about 6-7 hours of content already. Pretty good homage to King's Field. Just got and update as well.
Dungeon Hack, Lands of Lore 1&2, Eye of the Beholder, etc. for traditional blobbers. Also

For blobbers that aren't grid based, Menzoberranzan and Stone Prophet are pretty accessible once you learn to switch between movement and menuing using spacebar.
SOUL
>how dare those people enjoy their games
Ganker in a nutshell
Used to love playing Eye of the Beholder on the SNES but it scared me since I was really young so I could only play in short bursts before I became too scared.
uhh yeah
Zoomer game
Damn straight. Eob2 is awesome!
Why is the backline holding shields?
i dont know i setup the party just seconds ago that how it came equipped
Ohh ok. Well have fun, EotB 2 is one of the best dungeon crawlers ever made.
>used to.
Black person, I played realms of arkania 2 yesterday.

Are there any more 'single character blobbers' like Dungeon Hack and LoL2? Aside from LoL3 and UO 1&2 that is.
Vaporum

Oh yeah, Stonekeep. Never played it. Gonna check that one out, too. Thanks.
Stonekeep? Or do you recruit people in that? I forget.
Make sure you have a cleric and a mage. Multiclass is often viable too
Shadowcaster too
Isn't that pretty much proto-Heretic? Never actually played it myself. Will change that now, thanks.
not that guy but installing that in PCem right now

Looking forward to hibernaculum.
How do you play Dungeon Master? Just CSBwin? But isn't that just for Chaos Strikes Back?
please respond
http://www.ragingmole.com/RTC/
This?
How is this better than csbwin?
>inb4 why don't you just try them
Because they're the kind of games you sink hours into before you realize that you're playing an inferior version
there used to be a great version based on the snes version for windows. wonder if its still going.
>But isn't that just for Chaos Strikes Back?
No. This is what you want to download:

And yet they probably had more fun than zoomers playing shitty new games. Graphics don't make games fun.

Isn't that Ganker's official motto?
I just want a Dungeon Master remake with good graphics. Don't tell me to use any mod for an existing game they use shitty JRPG levelling systems in todays games I want the real fricking deal.

>boomers played this the whole day and deep into the night
And this, because I we need our roads!

looks more like return to routes to me.
this shit was hypnotic when i first played i on amiga
God damn I'm gonna play some settlers 2 now
