The Lenovo Legion 5 rules. I went from a 3570k GTX 770 desktop to this and I've never owned anything so powerful. The best part is it's only like $950.

You're just posting stale memes from a decade ago - that isn't an issue for modern gaming laptops. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a 3050ti + Ryzen 7 5800H and it never exceeds 75c for most games. I can play all newer titles on high/max settings at 1080p 60 fps+ (e.g. Elden Ring). The noise factor is a non issue when wearing headphones.

      Cope...

How much time have you owned those? I have a msi from 2013 and after about 3 years of used it had malfunctioned in a bunch of different ways making it a chose to play : too loud, so hot that it somehow makes the electricity plug loose, pads doesn't work unless doing some dark wizard bullshit that I had to figure out by myself.

      Did laptops really got better?

Cooling pads are a meme lol. 2 degree difference at most.

Laptops got a lot better. They put actual graphic cards in them now. Not some Indian fricking 850M garbage they used to put in them back in 2014 that had like 60% of the power of the real graphic cards

To be fair only for a few months. But if you are having issues with thermals then you'll need to reapply thermal past to the cpu and gpu. But yeah I think the cooling systems for gaming laptops have gotten significantly better since 2013. Not only the cooling system but of course the CPU/GPU architectures are more efficient all around.

Laptops have changed a lot in the last few years for a couple of reasons:
            >desktop pricing drove laptop demand so manufacturers finally have a cause to refine them
            >ryzen laptops with lower power draw and thermals for better performance than Intel's equivalent
            >overall hardware gains allow laptops to run heavier software without hitting thermal limits

depends on the country but the price for a ryzen and rtx combo seems decent to me, I'd rather b***h and moan over the fact that in some cases many if not all the parts can not be changed because they are forged to the motherboard because the majority of people is composed out of people that do not understand the consequences of different decisions and choices

In this case it does, pc garage are the type of Black folk that make a price high and then give you a cupon for a "cheaper product" so the price with a cupon is the original price (it will get rolled back after the sale).
Just because you barely leave your house or don't need a laptop doesn't mean nobody else does.
Also good luck getting a middle tower pc in your backpack. I never denied the fact that pc parts can be stronger and cheaper( if it wasn't obvious enough) but the price you actually pay for a pc is lack of high distance movement at short intervals. Depending on your case and it's geometry short interval long roads can damage it, especially on long and broken roads, in a car.

Matter of fact It also did happen to a friend of mine equally moronic to you that didn't listen to me. the guy had an rtx 2070 and 3000 something ryzen processor. After a month of doing that his gpu and motherboard started to fail him until the lower part of his motherboard cracked as an individual piece.

I have an Alienware 15 R3, iirc. Bought it in 2015 or so?

Keyboard feels great. The 1080 maxq in it runs things nearly as well as the 1080 in my desktop, and the fans are quiet enough that I don't notice them over e.g. talking to my wife or watching TV.

I use a laptop because the only time I have to play games is while the kids are asleep after 8pm and my wife and I are relaxing in bed. So being able to lay next to her on my laptop is a lot more conducive to chatting than sitting at a desk buried in a monitor.

Similarly, if the kids are napping and we're on the couch, just being able to bring my laptop down and play on the couch is convenient.

My desktop is basically just a Vive machine at this point.

I don't really get why these threads are so common. Is it so hard to conceive that the portability is really valuable?

Ironically turning on my turbo fans on my shitty MSI laptop was the only way to play MHW on it without the game literally freezing for 10 seconds at a time.

    >have $400 laptop
    >have great internet
    >play AAA games at 1440p 120 fps for $30 a month
    >save way more than that on the electricity bill alone
    >get to play on my bed or on my toilet or even in my bathtub anytime I want

Feels good to be a genius

You could have streamed games to a $50 tablet and have a more convenient device to play games on for $350 less.

Samsung tablets literally offer a desktop mode and every tablet with an Android version released in the past 5 years can use a mouse and keyboard switch easily. Still a much better choice plus even OLED tablets can be bought for cheap nowadays.

The only reason you're able to do this without getting third degree burns is because it's a piece of shit laptop worse than modern tablets and not a true gaming one. I'd even bet you have a blanket on so the heat doesn't directly blow against you.

Laptops are a fricking ripoff. Them being sometimes cheaper or "convenient" becuase muh portability (no one even fricking travels with them) doesn't change that. You're better off going all in with a desktop. Laptops are more expensive in the long run and only midwits buy them because MUH HECKIN LIMINAL PORTABILITY

All of the things specified above happen because normalgays like you accept this practices and gouge their eyes out if their laptop is 1 mm thicker or 0.1 kg heayier than It should be, not only that but if you know that you'll travel often, especially with not much room for lugage gl having any kind of pc that is above mini towers.
Laptops are a ripoff because people allow and choose that and 80% of people travel with them.

Get a bulky gaming laptop. Those actually have functioning fans. Idk why laptop companies are still stuck with the same slimming logic of the 2000s.
Laptops are more than thin enough already. We're not dealing with laptops are big as picrel anymore. There is no need to compromise efficiency for slimming down the size. You just can't.

I wish I could buy a Windows Laptop with Apple-like build quality, trackpad and speakers + a graphics card. Instead all you get is these trash tier designs with Jamaican coloured keyboard lights, plasticy keyboards, bad hinges, trash sound and heat problems.

    call hp
    >we know this problem since 2020, it really is a realtek audio driver issue. remove your driver and install it again

still crackling noise and audio gets super quite until it gets loud again. brand new omen laptop. I fricking hate PCs so much like I just got it out of uhr box and it's shit like that.

it is throttling, but your specs are beefy enough to not notice it. same with my laptop. the performance is literally 50% better when it's not throttling but I don't notice except for the newest games

Laptop components usually have a higher thermal limit, usually around 110-115. That's where you'd typically see Bluescreen territory.

Is the MacBook Air M1 good for light gaming? Stuff like Osu! and Genshin. I have an S21 so I'm going to miss out on the "ecosystem", but it looks more efficient and better in build (keyboard, display, cooling) than most Windows laptops
