Yeah, because they did a time-exclusive on EGS. It's where games go to die.

Maybe so, but BL3 was the first game to ever break the EGS curse.

This is right? Doesn't sound that appealing tbh. Embracer probably wants 1 billion for it.

Gearbox have all the same problems Volition did, they are full of crappy feminists and diversity hires now.

I don't think anyone will buy them, not even tencent are that stupid.

No, MS is just as retarded. I don't see the point of buying companies if you aren't going to do fuck all with them.

MS will keep failing, but as they have their windows monopoly money they will continue with the shitification of the gaming industry via gamepass. Gamepass is nothing but the netflix business model applied to the video-game industry.

Going from Borderlands 1 to 2 is so jarring it feels like I was in a car crash and my head is screwed on sideways. The writing in 1 wasn't good, sure, but it was tame compared to 2. I know coomers who used to play Lilith just for her screams on shield breaks and deaths, and they won't touch her after what they did with her in 2. It takes serious talent to make a coomer back up off a character like that. I don't even want to touch 3 based on what I've heard.

Won't happen, they'll get bought because Borderlands is too juicy of an IP.
Volition only had a quirky GTA clone and mediocre FPS turned TPS, neither of which are household names. Almost anyone who is a bit familiar with games knows of Borderlands. Note that it's not indicative of the games' quality but still.

Yes, it's just borderlands. BL2 was a huge success and I guess that every borderlands game afterwards sold enough.

Borderlands 1 was the first note worthy translation of a translation of the arpg looters genre to fps, coining the term looter shooter. Borderlands 2 was a much more polished version of the formula with almost 0 competition in a relatively dry market that released at the absolute peak of diablo 3 hype (lol) right before ps4 and xbone dropped (easy goty edition ports).
It was the perfect idea (a translation of diablo's most cancerous mechanics) at the perfect time and it sold like hotcakes.
The studio is worthless now. They're never gonna strike fire twice
