Most people I knew growing up online from France, Germany, and the Netherlands imported their games from the UK because lol @ PAL releases but to be fair, Germany releases of many games were fucked to begin with
Doesn't help me since I wasn't born until the early 2000s and I didn't start buying retro games until I was 13 in 2016, had help from getting hand-me-downs from my dad and uncle but when it came to imports I couldn't buy them very often due to a very limited budget.
Fixed. Idk Murrica, but here in Europe, you can follow a lot of particular sellers of ntsc-j stuff and it's great getting notifications "10 euros cheaper" every two weeks because they are starting to caught on the fact nobody will pay more than 20 euros for a Japanese game.
Nobody fucking wants the Japanese version of games, even the ones that are region free. It's purely a market fabricated by idiots who don't even play video games thinking with a Tulip/Tea market mindset.

It's even more fucking hilarious when you get into things like the Japanese versions of Yugioh and Pokemon cards... the only people these scammers end up selling to are naive parents who also think from a tulip/tea market mindset because they're ignorant boomers who think Edison was a witch. Tales of Symphonia's PAL version on the GC also ran 16.66% slower. It was so fucking sluggish. I was eager to play the game so I had imported the NTSC-U version, and when I showed it to my friends who had the PAL version they were blown away.

The timing will still be slightly off unless your system has a NTSC clock capacitor hardmodded in. The best option for PAL region is to softmod a compatible PS2 with mechapwn, will run any PS1 games at the correct speed (including burned discs).
I've bought a PS1, PSOne, a PS2 fat, a PS2 slim, a GC, and a Dreamcast from Japan, plus 3 Vitas, 3 PSPs, and 1 new 3DS LL plus a TON of games for each for fairly cheap. Dreamcast and PSOne haven't arrived yet, but everything else has and I've been playing them all a lot
It's kind of outrageous how expensive old games are in the US. In Japan you can pay like 1000-1500 yen for multiple boxes full of old games, meanwhile in the US garden gnomes try to charge you like 20-50 bucks for a single game
shit's unreal

if i was a rich sociopath I would setup a system of employees who would buy millions of these until I possess everything then I would pretend to destroy all of them except 100 to increase their price to like 5000 dollars, then people would buy it from people who hoarded it for 5k, then I would reveal that I didnt destroy anything and sell them for 1$, and collectors and speculators would be mad for wasting their money. would serve them right. anyway
>zoomers unironically getting into arguments over DMG, PSX, PAL vs NTSC, etc
I don't understand why people born after the year 2000 enjoy roleplaying as Millennials online and then getting into arguments over commonly known details that are demonstrable facts. I can appreciate a five year old putting on his father's clothes and being all like, "whoa hey I'm mister big business man, cancel my meetings, raise my salary" but when someone in their early to mid 20s is fucking doing it on Ganker, it's just fucking weird.
I own a modded one so i don't need to buy ps1 games.
I just burn any games i want to play on console Mostly multiplayer ones.
Usually i just emulate pc though
Most PS1 games where coded to compensate for the lower Hz.
FF7 and 8 run at the right speed in PAL versions, FF9 for some reason doesn't, I'm assuming because the main team was working on FF10 at that point.
CMR 2.0 is a very weird case, it runs at the correct speed in the PAL version, but for some reason runs SLOW in the NTSC version. How they managed to fuck that I up I don't know.

jealous of what?
>PAL
if i was a rich sociopath I would setup a system of employees who would buy millions of these until I possess everything then I would pretend to destroy all of them except 100 to increase their price to like 5000 dollars, then people would buy it from people who hoarded it for 5k, then I would reveal that I didnt destroy anything and sell them for 1$, and collectors and speculators would be mad for wasting their money. would serve them right. anyway
Okay. And?
I was until I saw Final Shitasy. Fuck you.
>zoomers unironically getting into arguments over DMG, PSX, PAL vs NTSC, etc
>Someone took the FFX demo sticker off your FFVI.
That sucks bro.
CMR 2.0 was developed as a PAL game.
i can play all of that for free on my computer 🙂
what the fuck kind of currency is that?
>There are now over 2 billion active internet users thanks to India finally updating their infrastructure, and the internet had been worse off ever since
don't put your PS1 discs on the floor like that, they are not BluRay and will scratch easily making the games unplayable. hope you have a CRT to go with it, otherwise cool pickup
