That was what I was going to say. Konami knows they are fricked with SH2 remake and are now panicking with putting the whole series on PC. But why buy that when you already could have the HD version and for free.

Kojima keeps making great VIDEO GAMES, and israelitenami sacked both TS and KP, ultimately raping both franchises.

DS undersold, that is a fact. It had a huge budget featuring an A-list celebrity that he blew money for, only for it to underperform as kojima seethed about it. It was a pretentious experiment of a game for the fart-huffers.

                >DS undersold, that is a fact
                Citation needed, and easily BTFO.

Not only was the game ported to every single system capable of running it, it also got an extended Director's Cut version, and now is getting a full blown sequel. Hell, even a movie adaptation's been hinted of.

                >m-muh pretentious!!

It undersold at launch, don't tell me you forgot Kojima's tweets seething and blaming dumb americans as the reason for the game's poor reception. The entire reason it even got ported was to recoup money, the game's been given away for free on multiple services by now as well which you're blatantly ignoring by touting that recent figure.
                >included in PS+ currently
                >given away on EGS a few years back
                >was included on gamepass for ages
Game had an overblown budget as he's continued to chase the Hollywood clout and further distance away from video games.

                >It undersold at launch
Source? Because all I can find prove (You) wrong, lil' schizo.

Not to mention only some literal CoD publishers give a frick about *initial* sales, because they know they need to start prepping for the next annual release right away. Disposal game releases are the cancer.

                >The entire reason it even got ported was to recoup money
Well duh! It's an absolutely suicidal business practice to restrict your game to one system only, essentially cutting off up to 2/3rds of your potential customers. This is exactly why exclusives are dumb as frick, and even Sony has started to realize this, now actively promoting all their 1st and 2nd party games arriving on PC (and thus Xbox) as well.

But none of this changes the fact that DS was one of the best games of the decade, and proved that israelitenami cucks are still mentally insane morons that hate gamers and great game devs.
Nor have SH fans forgotten how badly these jackasses butchered the ""HD"" Collection 14 years ago, not to mention the blatant whoring of the IP from 2005 to this day that resulted trash like Homocoming and Downpoor.
Icing of the cake's all these "Social media experience" spinoffs + the shitty demake of SH2 that are now coming out.

Oh come on anon, it takes a quick google to find all the articles from the initial release of the game (why do you keep posting articles from years after release? hmmm...), to see that it had a lukewarm reception and was quickly ported to PC afterward to make up for it. Price got slashed too as far as I recall, at least until the director's cut version launched later. However, as I already stated the game has (and is) available to get for basically $0 for each platform its been available on.
Konami are gays for the dogshit they release, don't get me wrong, but they were absolutely in the right to fire Kojima at the time as he fell off the deep end hard.

dilate troony, nothing undersold. They made this game extremely fast

                >article 2 years before the game was finished
trailer was in 2016, they thought it'd be out before 2018. Not that it matters as the bulk of the inflated budget went into hiring the actors.

And once more, how much weight do you put on day 1 sales exactly, just to support yer silly narrative?

                > it had a lukewarm reception and was quickly ported to PC afterward to make up for it
O=n the contrary. My own posts above prove it wrong.

                >they were absolutely in the right to fire Kojima at the time
They kicked out their own gold eggs lying goose, only because rest of israelitenami's execs were gambling and insurance business yakuzas, tired of dem bloody vidya gaemers.
MGSV was butchered for no apparent reason. First chopped into two, just to "test the waters", then the other half was rushed out prematurely. Ironic, since both ended up being massive commercial and academic success titles.

They did exactly the same stunt to Team-Silent back in 2005.

                https://www.vice.com/en/article/a35p7k/kojima
This reflects the reception at the game's launch (and subsequent defence of the game from Kojima). DS could be an entire analysis on how NOT to market your game. Obviously, I did not like Death Stranding, it was not for me to say the least. However, I can acknowledge that others liked the game for whatever reason - but there is no denying that the trailers failed to portray what kind of game DS even was. There was a genuine backlash over it, as many felt deceived on the experience the trailers appeared to sell versus the actual gameplay involved.

If it weren't for the fact that Kojima had directed the trailers for Death Stranding too, I wouldn't bat an eye: "eh, probably Sony's marketing balls it up" is all I would've said. But he was heavily responsible for how the game was marketed and how that would subsequently mislead and confuse his audience on what kind of game it is. Clearly, there IS an audience for this game now but if failed to reach them at the time. This lead to a price cut, Director's Cut re-release to drive up more sales, and its inclusion in other services (quite literally being given away) in an attempt for the game to find enough of an audience that liked it.

Why do I bring this all up?
For the bottom line of business. It wouldn't matter whether it was Konami, or if Kojima had been working under another business. This game and its costly development would have alarm bells ringing for any company. Kojima had been steadily moving away from "just making a video game" for a while now. Kojima was not a "gold-laying goose", dude was and still is a money-burner. His games need huge sales figures to make up their budget costs and DS was almost a disaster out the gate. This post was long had to trim it down for brevity, hopefully still makes sense.

All of that is fricking cope for Konami not being able to manage their own money. I don't even like Kojima but he is talented and Konami compleyely failed to manage that talent. Cut him off from spending until he gets more work done, have someone keep an eye on him, there are plenty of things they could have done to prevent him from fricking up and firing him after the damage was done but the game wasn't finished was an absolutely moronic move.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sony (partially) fun Death Stranding?
It would be an odd move in such case to port it to PC so quickly unless it was underperforming that badly.
