      No, there is a range, but with the other abilties you can cheese through things a lot, it's fun once you pull out some bullshit broken mechanic you're not supposed to do.

      my favorite has been people connecting big planks of wood to thrown spears and then rewinding while standing on the plank and being flung to the skybox because the spears rotate fast when thrown

    Ascend on its own isn’t that special. What makes it good is the ability to create your own ceilings using recall or auto build.

    I used that in the Lightning Temple too early and got really confused.

      That was the best temple and felt the most Zelda-like because you couldn't sequence break it like the others. If you ascend to the next floor then Gerudo girl can't follow you and you can't use her ability to solve the next puzzle.

      there are a lot of instances of part of a puzzle being getting an object to a higher point or across a large gap and your ultra hand doesn't reach that far or you are two high up to pick it up from above
      what you can do in these cases is bring the object as far as you can using ultra hand to where it needs to go, bring it back, go to your objective area and use recall on it to bring it back to that halfway point where you will now be able to grab it with ultra hand
      recalls range is essentially infinite so you don't need to worry about being too far away to recall it

        Can also bring an object up as high as you can with Hand then lower it down then step on the object and use Recall to lift it back up with you on it. Bonus points if you can then use Ascend right afterward.

          Oh, and Recall works on the rocks that fall near sky islands but most of the time you'll run out of charge before it reaches an island. Still gives a huge amount of height for gliding afterward though.

            I hate that those rocks rarely ever go to actual islands.That demo they gave where Aonuma rode one to an island was some bullshit.

              It had it work on hills/mountains a few times but it has to be really low hanging islands. I was hoping you can + all the abilities like in BotW which have increased the time limit but it doesn't look like you can in this one.

                Some of them are so high up that I still haven't figured out how to get up to them. Skyview towers don't even launch you high enough for some of them.

                The easiest way is to go to the closest island you can reach, and you'll usually find some sort of building materials there with the floating platforms and jets. If not that, you can construct your own vehicle to reach it lin every other circumstance.

                it's a memory constraint. they can't let you have recall that lasts too long because they have to store the position of every object back in time as long as your recall lasts

              It reaches certain islands by design, for the rest it's part of a puzzle to easily get to the top of a column with a chest on it for instance or just give you a place to glide from.

      There's other restrictions too like the ceiling must be flat and there must be room on all sides.

    this ability is surprisingly not jank like I thought it would be, I would not be surprised if most of the play testing went into making this shit not have you boundary break anywhere on the map easily
    recall on the other hand is kind of broken like I doubt they intended you to just wave a weapon around recall it and it just instantly deletes an enemies health
