Not only the campaign was shit but the raid is a downgrade from every other destiny 2 raid ever made. The raid is so easy and simple that 10x more people finished it on contest mode than every other raid ever, the final boss HP is so low it was possible to solo it on contest mode.
Bungie, are you okay?

It's weird but you fire it up and it immediately doesn't feel like Destiny anymore. Very bizarre... feels like a budget game that happens to use Destiny assets. Kind of how Destiny 2 felt at launch.
D2 has always felt to me like a bootleg or indie game version of D1 when it came out depsite it being half improvements and half steps backwards that we still haven't gotten back.
Who the fuck still plays density in this day and age?!
Holy cult of consumerist moroncattle batman!
I know someone who acknowledges that Bungie and the game sucks, but not only does he still take off work to play the new expansion day 1, he completed the raid within 48 hours of release and bought the fucking raid jacket for over $300. I don't know what it'll take for him at this point to stop debasing himself like this and uninstall this goyslop garbage once and for all. I hate watching my friend waste his time and money on this predatory game.
I know a guy like that. The skinnerbox is just too strong.
It's like having a fin dom fetish at this point and should be treated as just as embarrassing
>a fin dom fetish
Is that when you let fish bully you?
The term "findom" is short for financial dominance. Men buy expensive gifts, give allowances or even allow some unknown women complete control for their finances in order to keep the relationship going. Gacha and F2P gamers are the video game equivalent of findom.
I started with this expansion, as a F2P though.
I find it enjoyable for what content it has but its only lasted me like 2 weeks and given this expansion is hated and the other 2 new classes are both pretty shit (void/solar being more popular and more useful anyway) I see no reason to pay. I might play on and off for a season but I cant imagine dedicating yourself to this.
Also I'm so done with light levels and juggling gear and bullshit upgrades. I hate the feeling of "investment" you get with your bullshit, so it's tough to be flexible with builds. I can't have multiple sets of armor at 10 masterwork because I'm not hardcore enough to have those mats on me at all times. Also there's like a billion guns and only a couple end up being worth a damn.
Destiny has always been shallow but it used to seem really cool. Cool armor. Cool shaders. It just looks like dog shit now.
whats the point in an fps
holy slop batman are those some heckin textures???
>Game is shit, but at least it used to look cool
>Well, looking cool doesn't matter!
I don't get your point. It still looked cool, even if it didn't matter.
>whats the point in an fps
Why do you think we wear clothes?
I can look down and see my own clothes. You can't do that in an fps.
the campaign was shit and almost paint by numbers, and is also filler despite being the penultimate expansion.
despite being that close to the end, we have NO IDEA the main villains motivation, (beyond the vague lorebook idea that he wants to be the last being in the universe) he's also infinitely more powerful than anyone in the setting and it will feel retarded to beat him by shooting him with a hastily repaired russian firearm.
hell, no one even knows what happened in THIS expansion, as its a Mcguffin chase, with no explanation on what the Mcguffin is, why the villain wants it, or anything, also 70% of the expansion is about mastering the new power in the idea that it'll help you win the day, and in the end you don't even have to use it to fight the expansions final boss, nor does it really matter.
>(beyond the vague lorebook idea that he wants to be the last being in the universe
not even the main villains motivation. that was the original motivation of the bad guy of the week that we effortlessly killed in the awful campaign. except, he decided it would be better to serve the interests of the incomprehensible main villain and betray his entire character than stay the course he had devoted actual centuries to. calus got done dirty.
Do you still just have 1 person with the gun that boosts other peoples damage and everyone else with thousand voices to murderfuck the boss?
no, now you all just shoot rocket launchers at them.
Twin Tailed Fox got a catalyst and its now the best option for most DPS burn phases
Yes except instead of one Div Bitch and 5 (insert meta heavy here)'s its one Gjallarhorn and 5 legendary rocket launchers
Writers is on record saying they have no idea what they're doing with the story. The engine is a huge piece of crap that constantly breaks. The design team repeatedly nerfs fun things and doesn't buff any of the dozens of useless guns and armor.
Destiny was a cool concern but Bungie is a shit developer.
BUT, they put pride flag character banner options and half the cast are gay.
the writers dont know what they're doing so they channel avengers shit? what the fuck were they thinking? this is such a 180 from what they did Halo and Marathon, this isn't just "oh those guys dont work there anymore: excuse, this is just really bad writers.
The people who made halo aren't even at bungie anymore. Most of them left around destiny's release and anyone else with any talent left around destiny 2
Bungie gathered so much good will, that a skeleton with it's name still gets away with everything.
I also remember when the Recluse is a better PvE weapon than all the pinnacle weapons for Vanguard and Gambit.
I'm never going to forget the time I grinded my ass off for Breakneck and for them to later nerf it.
Why are all the guns in destiny so uninspired and boring? These fuckers made the needler; how did they loose all of their creativity?
Destiny is alot of shit things, but its gun design isn't shit.
"my striga is always so hungry"
Still baffling how Destiny has Kirkbride-level lore in the item tabs and books and all the other shit that doesn't actually run parallel to the gameplay loop, but Bungie cannot for the life of them translate it into the actually good in-game narrative to save their lives. Witch Queen is literally the only expansion where you get meaningful narrative during the actual game.
also sorry not sorry, but Debra Winger was great as Savathun. Ironic how one of the best written/characterized characters in recent memory will never be
witnessed by Ganker because Destiny and Winger both cause insant autistic meltdowns.
from what I can gather most of the backstory and "pre-game" lore is based off of and has the same creative freedom of the original destiny script and writers that is far more like Marathon than Halo with it taking heavy inspiration from 80s sci-fi novels and anime like GITS. Where as the in game writers are pigeon holed into making bland "cinematic" stories to entice normies and streamers.
TLDR Item tab writers are allowed to be schizo and based in game story writers need to make it like Marvel.
Bungie is Schrodinger's Game Dev, occupying the super-position of being both extremely competent and extremely incompetent.
>sony paid 868 trillion dollars for this to own the xboxchads
It is hilarious how much time Destiny 2 asks you for while also wasting it. The MMO design of player retention is obsolete, games do not need pointless checklist work to keep them coming back, especially when the game and world is interesting. Hopefully they can kill D2 off and make a real shooter instead of an MMO that tries so hard to pretend it is like Halo.
its barely an MMO.
it took them 2+ years to make the area you go to in Lightfall, and its 3 small circular areas you can fully explore in about an hour and 30 minutes.
its baffling how small the world really is.
It is the absolute worst parts of an MMO (random loot, "kill x targets with y weapons", chosen one narrative) on top of a legitimately beautiful game. They are scared of players quitting the game so much they created a massive dopamine hamster wheel instead of being confident in the gameplay and world.
It was never an MMO. It's a three player co op game with lobbies that have activities in them.
If that rumor from October is to be believed, they're rebooting Marathon as Tarkov. I hope that is not real, I want a good shooter and Destiny has been unfathomably shitty for a new player to get into.
>The MMO design of player retention is obsolete, games do not need pointless checklist work to keep them coming back
The longer people play, the more likely they're gonna buy shit from the cash shop.
Bungie is all in on the MMO design since 2007. For better or worse, this is their Shenmue.
How the fuck is halo 3 an mmo in the traditional sense
>Thinks I'm talking Halo 3
bro, Destiny has been "in-development" SINCE Halo 3. They left MS after MS saw Destiny's pre-alpha gameplay and went "lol no, now do Halo 4, 5, and 6" and Jason Jones shit his diaper and went "fuck you, let us go independent and we'll make Halo 4 (ODST) and 5 (Reach) and do this MMOFPS."
So they did.
To add, this (MS's right of first refusal, Jones getting angry and telling MS to break first-party contract/independence) is why Activision invested into Destiny and Bungie: Because Bungie/Jones *LITERALLY* said (like Shenmue from Suzuki) that this was going to be an 8 part game series.
And then Destiny 1 was a minor success, but 2's development hell (due to spaghetti code and having to re-write the engine from 1) is why ATVI dumped Bungie after the luke-warm reception of Destiny 2.
Now like Shenmue it's languishing, but unlike Shenmue, Bungie has pay-piggies willing to "support the developer" like Starbreeze/Overkill does/did for Payday 2.
But unlike Payday 2, Bungie isn't in the poor-house (because they got bought by Sony to "own the MS's") yet to where their milking of the DLC isn't really justified in the next two years (or whatever, post Sony buy date) if they continue with this instead of shitting out a Destiny 3 already.
Point is: Jones wanted an MMOFPS but couldn't make one good, and now they're in this shitty situation of having an "epic story!!!" that doesn't mean shit because their writers (like the Halo ones) ass-pulled a plot at the eleventh hour.
The only reason people should pay attention to Bungie is the gameplay and even THAT is stuck in the mid-00's now.
>They left MS after MS saw Destiny's pre-alpha gameplay and went "lol no, now do Halo 4, 5, and 6" and Jason Jones shit his diaper and went "fuck you, let us go independent and we'll make Halo 4 (ODST) and 5 (Reach) and do this MMOFPS."
you got your timeline all over the place anon.
2000 to early 2007, Bungie was owned by MS
As a result of Halo 2 not being able to be the final Halo game, which was the original plan for Bungie at least, and various other issues with MS, Bungie sought to be independent again. Microsoft agreed, asking for 3 more games and the Halo IP itself.
There was absolutely no alpha gameplay for Destiny until mid-Reach or post Reach, since Reach in of itself was a testbed for a lot of ideas for Destiny.
it was never good but its free so you know third world Hispanics are more than happy to prop up this dumpster of a franchise
the average thirdworlder is too poor to afford the $5 borderlands bundle every other month that does everything destiny rode the coattails off
think about that for a while
Wow, another Western bomb
I played the previous expansion at launch and fucking loved it, did the campaign then roamed the new planet for 15hours a day everyday for the first week, zero complaints. Ended up finishing the expansion with all titles and being able to craft 90% of all craftable guns. Lightfall drops and the experience was fucking horrible, one of the main campaign characters is a Disney fag ( literally ) that sounds and is annoying as fuck everytime it speaks. The new planet was overtuned as fuck, all turrets one shot you, high value targets would randomly one shot you, one of the new Lost Sector bosses was 30 light levels above the others and would 2-3 shot you, the new planet event was 60? Light above everyone else leading to everyone getting 2-3 shot, legit six people would fight this thing chain dying while slowly widdling it down, I ended up needing to strategically park myself on rooftops like it I was trying to cheese a Destiny 1 Nightfall.
It's whittle, like slowly shaving bits off a piece of wood, widdle is like some kiddie slang for peeing.
Also from what I heard at least with the new planet they went the route that Blizzard did in Legion which is that the open world now cannot be out scaled with your gear and now scales with your gear so that it will never be to easy. In other worlds some streamer gays bitched and Bungi listened and now shits fucked.
>The new planet was overtuned as fuck, all turrets one shot you, high value targets would randomly one shot you,
Frame rate is tied to damage instances for turrets and some enemies, so if you have a higher FPS you take twice as more damage.
They didn't add enough blacks and non-binaries for game journalists to praise?
lol anon, none of the Journo's or twitter gays actually care when you virtue signal towards them, only when you slight them (or even when you don't and they just create a simulacra of a slight from thin air because they are mentally ill)
video game developers virtue signal for the same reason everyone does now, to be "one of us" and to make sure everyone knows (but no one cares) that they are full of guilt for existing.
Not a Destiny player but I've been watching my gf play through this campaign. Wtf is the design of these characters. Like that Nimbus guy. It's unpleasant to look at. Also apparently the difficulty is fucked or something? She starts raging at random spots and makes me beat sections of it for her.
I can't believe my Halo died for this.
the people who made the concept design for Nimbus and the other Cloudstriders was far more skilled than the people who put Nimbus into the game and the people who decided his dialogue and the VA who voiced him.
that's the jist of it.
What the fuck are you talking about? The cloud strider design is completely fucking retarded and horrible to have to see
Destiny players are so deep in the stockholm syndrome that they'll just forget everything and sing praises when the next xpac is above mediocre.
Witchqueen was already exactly like this after the fucking slog that was Beyond Light,
Let's see, Destiny is like Halo, but:
>Expansions, season passes, AND DLC packs
>Deletes things you paid for
>Carrot-on-a-stick FOMO gameplay
>No forge mode
>Have to go through a load screen to change guns
>Supposedly "open world" with maps smaller than my back yard
Bungie has become a disgrace since the 2000's
If destiny had kept the same level of sandbox as Halo, a solid 6/8 hour campaign with a decent story, a little more variety of enemies, fun multiplayer with custom games similar to Halo, a Forge-like editor and that the "expansions/dlc" would have been free or at least cheap... man.
There's nothing wrong with making PvE content accessible. Tryhards can stick with PvP.
Something doesn't have to be easy to be accessible. Contest mode raids have been very accessible for years now but they were never this easy. More people beat the new raid during contest mode than every previous day 1/contest raid in Destiny 1 and 2 combined.
accessability==difficulty. half the fun is getting gud enough to be able to do a raid. the entore movement of making games easier and easier because of muh accessability is a shit idea. get fucking good.
The worst part is accessibility is a great thing to aim for. sony games are fucking INCREDIBLE for accessibility. They're shit for other reasons, but the trillion different options you have to make it play just how you'd like is wonderful.
I'd also highlight ghost recon breakpoint. Too bad the game is garbage but it's super accessible.
You are a complete fucking retard child if you continued after destiny 2. Fuck it was dumb enough paying for destiny's "take this mission, have them run it backwards, call it a brand new mission" bullshit overpriced dlc. I promised to never pay for anything with a bungie logo again after destiny 2s release.
I think the funniest part is how much worse they got after leaving activsion.
I got suckered into it with Beyond Light because.
>BRO NEW CLASS
stopped playing like a season later, never came back.
Are YOU okay, anon?
>People continued to buy dlc and play destiny 1 after the hot mismanaged abortion that it was at launch
>People learned NOTHING and still bought destiny2 and dlc and play it to this day
I wish the worst on all you fucking retards.
destiny fans are unironically the most "battered housewife" playerbase there ever was
D1 may have been mismanaged as fuck but Vault of Glass and Kingsfall are still some of the most fun I've had in an FPS.
You're fucking retarded if you give Vault of Glass that much credence.
>stand in circles and kill enemies until door opens
>reach next section
>kill enemies before they reach pillars
>sneak past enemies
>do more platforming or jump across chasm
>kill more waves of enemies, don't fuck up/ get blinded/ keep portals upon
>kill boss, see above
It had its moments, particularly the atheon segment, but the sheer grind for weapons and armor parts really killed it and the rest of d1 for me, not to mention that I can think of other coop shooters that I've had far more memorable experiences in.
The difference is that you could play and enjoy VoG 10 years ago and walk away never touching Destiny again while people are still trying to chase after the same highs as peak Destiny 1 by playing D2.
Allegedly this was hobbled to together to save time while they’re develop the end expansion. Which would have been fine with me if it wasn’t full price
>which would've been fine with me
Anything would've been fine with you paypig
>game has great active user base
>add on after add on people like it
>they remove bought content
>people still play it
>sony buys it to know the secret to that last part
>first add on under Sony is trash
At this point Destiny's legacy is set in stone really.
"Oh dude the lore is so cool"
"Oh the setting has so much potential!"
"The raids are incredible"
etc etc, I honestly doubt that anything this year can change it's reputation at this point and we all have to put up with it's brain rotted playerbase telling us how amazing it is but fail to actually justify the anti-consumer shit Bungie pulls.
I'm just annoyed of a personal level how Bungie decided to handle seasons, and due to that and how they were designed Destiny will *never* have it's entire narrative playable. There is no way Destiny can support all it's seasonal content from over the years at the same time, Destiny's narrative will only ever be viewable with Youtube and not the game itself.
the setting has potential, however, Destiny will never be able to pay off that potential.
its only conceptual, the world is never explorable the way it should, the game's content always eventually pools you towards doing PVP, Gambit, or worthless Vanguard strikes over and over, because everything else is one off.
its literally the "Man wouldn't it be cool if it were a really open world with lots of exploration and secrets" but its never going to be that, its always going to be "3 areas in a zone roughly the size of a football field each", and nothing more.
>Retarded YouTuber whines about the lore before he reads all of it
>Retarded YouTuber whines about getting 147th in Contest mode because his Fireteam is too fucking retarded to figure out basic mechanics
Meh, I'm having fun for now.
The only good things in destiny 2 are :
-The setting (dont confuse setting with STORY please)
Everything else is garbage.
And Destiny 1 was better in both those regards
Reminder to never trust an MMO player. Each and every one of them is an addict looking to validate their addiction
PIc related shows how garbage the latest raid was. ( 24 and 48 hours root of nightmares = contest mode which is harder because it caps the player power and disable some OP weapons/exotics )
>Only 2 fireteams were able to complete last wish on contest mode
Last Wish was back when the game required 80 hours a week to hit Light Level for the raid.
The attempt/success rate is still GIGA low compared to the other raids.
If you didn't play around that time you simply won't understand why this is.
>A raid is good or not based entirely on its difficulty
A raid is good or not based on it being FUN. This raid isn't fun, that is all that matters.
Raids should present some sort of challenge to the player and this raid has 0 challenge, its boring as fuck. I'm not into nutcracking hard raids but i'm not into braindead easy raids either.
WHAT IS MATTER
WHERE IS IT
WHERE DID THE TENCENT MONEY GO
WHERE DID THE SONY MONEY GO
Poopsockers just mad the raid isn't aimed at their exclusive little club anymore
>Linking point A to point B is fun
You must be a literal mouthbreather to think this raid is fun.
i'm waiting for this franchise to drop last gen.
You guys DID farm gahlran today right?
Yea, i farmed 5 granade launcher patterns + full artificer set for my Warlock but i grew bored of it and didnt farm the set for my hunter and titan yet.
>Bungie is bringing back Marathon
>its F2P live service
I can't believe how terrible the dialogue is in Lightfall.
There was a lot of complaints about the story and tone of the Red War campaign (and the first two expansions). The writing staff had basically started writing "Guardians" Of The Galaxy fanfiction. Every single line of dialogue was either a quip, retort, sarcastic comment or piece of snark. It didn't matter that humanity was literally at the brink of complete extermination; everybody was just so stoked to be on a Whedon-tier space adventure.
To Bungie's credit, they did take those complaints on board and made a noticeable effort to change the tone of writing for content going forward. So the fact that Lightfall is terrible in all the same ways as D2 vanilla makes me wonder what the fuck is going on at Bungie. My assumption is that the "good" writers had to move onto whatever is happening after the Light/Dark saga so the reddit tier writers got put back in charge of Lightfall (and probably The Final Shape too).
Savathun's dialogue and arc was perfect, its wild that the rest of the game is written with so much bad dialogue.
Rohan and Osiris are fine. No one likes Nimbus. Of course, Rohan dies and its Nimbus left.
The rest of Neomuna are unfortunately like Nimbus too. Sick of this fucking writing.
Nimbus was written as a surfer dude, the problem is, almost no one likes Surfer dudes, especially poorly written ones.
they should have made it EXPLICT that he's Michelangelo from TMNT.
>Nimbus was written as a surfer they/them
Peak millennial writing. Rivaling Borderlands 3.
>Osiris is fine.
Not really. He just alternated in between being a miserable old prick to a fumbling old man
Don't even give a shit about Osiris/Saint smashing pissers in and of itself, but them being together personally just doesn't make sense. They've been through shit together sure but Saint is always extroverted, confident, amicable towards guardians, and borderline pompous with some of his delivery. Osiris is meek, brooding, standoffish, and kind of a shithead to the guardians especially during the Lightfall campaign.
Perfect example of "I don't care about diversity as long as you don't butcher the narrative and characterization for it." Two incompatible people thrown together simply for virtue signaling.
There's definitely some kind of war in the writing staff between the "old guard" (people who wrote the original grimoire) and the diverity hires they've picked up since
and the chuds and Lefties, are winning.
Jesus christ, what kind of freaks are these people?
jesus fucking christ i can't believe you clowns still play this trash.
But To wrote all the good Drifter shit. If anything it went to shit when he stopped writing.
season of the drifter is what finally made me quit the game so if he was behind that writing....holy hell I can't imagine how bad it is now
Destiny game balance is currentlly fucked, and no, I'm not talking about what's currently overpowered or w/e.
I'm taking about Primary/Special/Heavy balance.
currently, there is no reason to use a primary, double special is completely superior, its too easy to generate special breaks for you and your team.
Primary's have so little function in any content that matters, its baffling, in GM's even redbar enemies will have retarded HP values, and in Raids its so much orange bar's to burn thatt all you need is a special weapon for big enemies and a special weapon for ad clear.
as good as destiny's gunplay is, a whole section of guns are only good in pvp.
>Primary's have so little function in any content that matters, its baffling
SMGs and Hand Cannons continue to be the workhorse weapon types across all parts of the game, regardless of slot.
lol no, no one uses fucking handcannon in GM's moron, nor are they using SMG's except maybe Striga, mowing down redbars in irrelevant easy content is nothing.
Debra Wilson is an amazing Voice Actress, she is, however, very ugly, so them forcing us to see her visage through mo-capping is the crux here.
Any Frenzy 120-140 works in GMs. Don't out yourself as bad just to prove your point.
when the fuck did you last do a GM?
now you can just use double specials and cruise through them.
you retards sound like battered wives. stop playing video games made after 2006 simple as.
I’ve heard literally nothing but bad news from this game for half a decade, every new expansion that releases is instantly shat on, and the only people still playing it must be die hard addicts, it’s fascinating that it still exists at all
The jump in quality between BL and WQ was truly insane. Between 3.0 reworks, crafting, and other QoL shit, it is absolutely flabbergasting how they stumbled such a good set up for themselves for year 6.
Honestly though I feel like one we have a better sense of the new armor mod meta and more people hit the poweful/pinnacle cap people will be more receptive. They really did overtune some of the difficulty though and power level just needs to get gutted at this point. There's such a push by Bungle to have the power level system equate to one of four difficulties when scaling so just FUCKING GIVE ME FOUR DIFFICUTIES
>a Scorpion Turret has targeted you in GM difficulty
holy jesus I can't wait till people experience GM's with this new heightened enemy power and player weakness.
people are getting shredded in the SEASONAL FUCKING PLAYLIST BATTLEGROUNDS.
if a fucking Hive Knight Boomer or Taken Hobgoblin even THINK about you in a GM now you are already dead.
>Mars Heist GMs
Its gonna be a bloodbath dude. The disconnect with this shit is fucking discombobulating:
>yo Bongo this MINUS FIVE delta in Heist feels perfect for a baseline, like no nerfs to anything else literally just put a MINUS FIVE delta on baseline and NOTHING ELSE
>we hear you, we're moving forward with minus 10-15, cutting the stat buff ceiling by 25%, ballooning cooldowns, fragging primaries to dust, killing the only good exotic farm, and retiring ALL the reliable mod builds
>that enemy density
>in a GM
holy jesus christ.
you'll NEVER clear it in time, it will be dozens of thralls reading to touch you once and kill you and I bet you five BILLION dollars it'll be Arc burn.
>legend lost sectors are now harder than the current raid on contest
>they didn't increase exotic drop rates and probably lowered them, if anything
I only think the quality in Witch queen was high because they scrapped strand, which was supposed to come out with Witch Queen. It's kinda why it feels so out of place right now in Lightfall.
>Strand cut from Witch Queen
True, the green palate in the throne world and the thematic focus on connections (like strands on conspiracy boards in procedurals) makes that pretty clear, supported by the delays caused by COVID and, imo, someone realizing last second Eager Edge + grappling was going to crack this spaghetti wide open without the tweaks to sword skating and collision damage we got before Lightfall. All that and rolling out 3.0 AND a new subclass was not going to fly with how granularly they iterate sandbox changes in general.
Honestly if WQ would have had strand, been more robust, and been pushed back a bit to beef up seasonal updates that would have been preferable to what we got. Like just make the gaps between BL-WQ-FS be about 18-20 months. Nobody really minded season of the lost being 6 months with the anniversary update, which wasn't huge but DENSE. A bit more breathing room between seasons to get everything you want and a focused update here or there would have been better than lightfall.
Forsaken and the base game when it came out were great. I have long since gave up on it
Destiny 2 when it came out wasn't even as good as Destiny 1
I agree but I was optimistic and I really liked cabal so I excited for the future.
The only exceptions I heard were The taken king and the witch quenn when they came out
I remember enjoying reading the lore more than playing the game, I would like at least destiny 1 and 2 to be a single game and enjoy traveling everywhere to do side quests and enjoy the views
Seriously, the art team is the only thing that hasn't suffered a drop in quality since Halo so far.
Bungie writers want to do Marvel movies so bad, it's so transparent.
they need to bring this guy back
if the guy was able to write a good story for the Halo infinite campaign after being raped by 343i for years the guy would do miracles with the Destiny story
I'll never give Bungie a cent ever since they removed actual content from the game. It's literally impossible to follow the story anymore.
This. I tried to rock with Destiny 2 after the purge but the fact that they can just rip out huge swathes of the game (That I fucking paid for btw) and then try to sell them back to you later is abominable.
The Bungie that made Halo is long gone. All thats left is Activision employees that joined Bungie during the split, woman diversity hires, and trannies that don’t want to work.
Their old motto was “We make games we want to play”
Their new one?
“WE BUILD WORLDS THAT INSPIRE FRIENDSHIP”
Bungie has been pozzed since the moment Destiny came out when all the talent left. It is beyond me why these retards still give this company money
I wonder if that's why they kicked out Marty. They were always pretty vague about why
Theres a lot of theories floating around, but an employee leaked some information regarding Martys termination.
During development of D1, Activision wanted to use “Immigrant Song” for the major trailer of Destiny. Marty made a big fuss over it, saying that the music didn’t capture the mysterious and engaging atmosphere of Destiny. He wanted to use his own music which is understandable since all of their Halo trailers had memorable music to it.
Apparently he was getting really pissy (rightfully so) with how much Activision was controlling Bungie and its development (Ironically around same time that Activision told Jacob Jones to rewrite the entire story in less than a year, causing him to quit), so higher ups told Bungie to axe Marty. Marty sued them for wrongful termination and won.
>Ironically around same time that Activision told Jacob Jones to rewrite the entire story in less than a year, causing him to quit
Why do people keep saying it was Activision, Bungie themselves told *Joe Staten and his team they were throwing out his story. Jason Jones was the one who made the call.
Goddamn make a new game already. Preferably not Destiny 3.
What being bought by snoy does to a mfer
It was over for this game when the "main villain" turned out to be a walking bigbrain emoji.
The Witness is fine, I know people mog on him/it whatever the fuck, but its literally a composite being of millions of its own race fused into a single being.
its decidedly weird as it should be.
>its literally a composite being of millions of its own race fused into a single being
that just so happens to be a regular uninspired human, except tall and wearing fractal robes.
its just an Alien at the end of the day, anon.
it wasn't born a god, its just some Alien Race from billions of years ago that took up the Winnower's ideology from pre-universal lore.
Anon, you're dodging the criticism and deflecting onto esoteric Destiny1 lorecards.
he cute tho
>It was over for this game when the "main villain"
It was over for this game when they rebooted their own narrative.
It was over for this game when they never found a good writer in almost a decade.
after watching that skill up review where he dug up the quote about how at one point Luke Smith publicly said they were working on dropping 'the darkness' entirely at one point, that has solidified Destiny is the most wasted potential in vidya ever. I legitimately have no idea how anyone can give a shit about any of it's characters.
Their statement on difficulty aged pretty poorly pretty quickly huh
The funniest part is that despite the raid being piss easy, everything else is harder, especially master lost sectors and probably GM nightfalls.
I wonder how long it will take them to walk this back. Like it's honestly so stupid that you'd make the shit that you have to spend hours grinding take more time by making it harder in the fucking first place. Bungie has no designers.
whomever put WoW raids into my rooty tooty point n shooty games should have their balls ripped off and fed to wild dogs, be drawn, and quartered, and then fed to feral morons
I knew it was going to be shit when the dev insight video released everyone had pronouns. Another game falls to the woke mob.
>thinks bungie just know are going woke
fucking where do you trogs come from?
Weird how much skirting around the MMO label kind of fucked them when the content vault came around. Bungo tried so hard to distance from the negative shit associated with the term, but if they had been charging just a flat sub instead of selling expacs as their own products beside the "free to try" fuckery, all that controversy would have been way different.
Nah, if anything the MMO label has hurt them even worse there, because no MMO has pulled the shit that Bungo did outside of arguably Cataclysm, and that was done for story reasons and mostly replaced everything it removed
Cataclysm was a mistake too. They should've let you choose what timeline to make your character on so you could make new ones and do the old the quests still or something
I knew WoW was going down when they added quest markers and I knew I was done soon when they removed class quests
Have they even ran out of cut content from d1 to keep selling to you pigs yet?
