Can anons explain the appeal of the Nintendo Switch and why they like it? Because I own one and it's currently covered in a thin layer of fine dust on my floor, and every time I've attempted to play it I get bored and fall asleep in my bed. A lot of the games can be played on PC and that's just usually what I end up doing.
I also find most of the exclusives to be incredibly lackluster as well.
It used to be novel to just pick up and leave with the console and it's great for shit like college with a game room where there's a big shared tv but other than that it's kinda shit at both of its niches.
PS5 is better in every single way
no games
Indeed, Darren, the shitch has no games
>Darren
QRD?
Darren is a notorious tendie sperg that's been active for many years. Most famous for creating a really obvious falseflagging persona that he named "eric", where he pretended to be a sony fan. Was finally caught with hard evidence against him just a couple months ago, and has been melting down ever since.
Wow, I knew nintendo fags were unhinged, but that's fucked up
Nice selfie, Darren
Thanks Eric!
It plays disgaea 5 in bed that's all it needs to do
Not me
Never got into the the Disgaea games and Disgaea 4 was the first game I bought on Switch and just couldn't get into it, think I played it for 1-2 hours and it made me feel retarded, like I didn't understand how to play nor what I was doing. There are so many classes, couldn't figure out which ones to use and the story was all over the place.
Did you skip the tutorial? I found the main gameplay loop to be pretty simple - you can always do the advanced grinding stuff like the item world later. Hell, in D1 I got through the main story pretty easy without using the dark assembly that much (other than to recruit generics).
Except the only thing that matters
I've taken to using mine because my Xbone SAD edition crapped out on me. XCOM 2 is comfy but the game runs like shit. It can be a youtube device too
>It can be a Youtube device
I suppose...though I have an Ipad that is superior for that purpose. It's a larger screen, so obviously video watching on it in bed is better.
>just spent 400 total on used switch and 5 games
I really wanted 2 of the games but boy am I feeling remorse considering I'm probably going to have gained 0 net worth by the end of the year
It has games.
You mean the exclusives or just the WAVE of indie garbage on it? I don't play indie games, so if it's basically an indie machine then it's no wonder I don't like it. I'm guessing a lot of anons are playing $10 indie games on it.
then you don't like video games and should leave this board
video games
>I also find most of the exclusives to be incredibly lackluster as well.
They don't feel this way. The end.
Name a few of the games you're currently playing on it and having fun with.
Not him, but currently on I don't even know what playthrough of metroid dread at this point, also replaying fire emblem three houses, and doing monster hunter generations ultimate again, but 100% solo this time. Plunking my way through a couple of jrpgs as well, mainly dq11 and triangle strategy at the moment. Finally getting around to kirby forgotten land as well, and I'm getting my kids mario wonder for christmas.
jrpgs that aren't on pc primarily also like fire emblem & kirby & a few first party games purely for local multiplayer. If not for the jrpgs & local co op I'd basically never use the system outside the rare nintendo release I actually like, I don't care for most of the exclusives but I also understand that a lot of people do unlike myself.
PCfag who also emulates Switch, I don't always like sitting at my desk to play PC. Sometimes it's nice to just go to the lounge, put on a show and play something on Switch whilst on the couch. Most of the Switch library also runs at 60FPS like Smash, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart and such so the only difference between emulation and actual hardware is the resolution which is fine for a handheld. There's also the odd games, indie or otherwise that run fine on Switch like Cuphead which I enjoyed more playing on my Switch than I did on PC. NSO also has a nice selection of retro games and I hate using phones for emulation.
TL;DR it's comfy and the Switch has games.
>Most of the Switch library also runs at 60FPS
Oh you poor deluded fool, I guess you're just ignorant or haven't been told, but I'm afraid that a large majority of Switch titles DON'T run at 60 FPS. You'd probably be knocked to the floor when you realize just how many few titles run at 60 FPS. Just as an example, SMTV and XBC3 both were locked at 30 FPS.
>Smash
>Mario Kart
>Mario Odyssey
>Splatoon in-game
>Mario RPG
>Tropical Freeze
>Hyrule and Fire Emblem Warriors
>Metroid Prime
>Metroid Dread
>Skyward Sword HD
All first/second party games that run at 60.
> Good games, including many not on pc
> portable
> controller scheme lets you play a couch coop/competitive game without buying additional controllers
Simple as
>I never leave my apartment
>Have no reason to bring my Switch with me in public
>Have no friends or social life so no reason to have co-op features
The portable feature isn't as impressive when you really have no reason to take advantage of it, I suppose other than playing it on a couch or in bed, which I'm assuming most anons do, can't imagine they're taking it with them in public unless they do a lot of traveling, which I also doubt very few do.
>Don't like fighting games
>Alright
>Couldn't finish it, was boring and fell asleep playing it
>Don't like online PVP competitive stuff
>Not out yet but planning on getting that as it looks good
>Haven't played it; might check it out
>Only like specific musou games, but not those
>Already played it on Gamecube/Paying $60 for nothing
>Skyward Sword is an awful Zelda game, probably the worst one.
And obviously first party games run at 60 FPS on the Switch, but that's usually it, so like 90% of their library doesn't run at 60 FPS kek
>loser with no friends hates the Switch
Now it's all coming together.
>Gotta have friends to enjoy the Switch and enjoy video games
Flawed design
A lot of kids growing up nowadays can't even use a computer keyboard because their parents use tablets and smartphones and buy them game consoles to occupy their time. Keyboards are, quite simply, a filter.
First of all, if you bought one for any reason other than wanting to play Nintendo exclusives, you're a retard.
Anyway it's fine. The games have been hit and miss. I play it docked about 95% of the time.
the appeal is in its innovative hybrid design. it's portability and it's OLED screen you retarded gorilla.
I love being able to play console games on the go. I don't like always having to sit at my desk to play games. It's nice to be able play them on my bed or anywhere in the house really.
>Can anons explain the appeal of the Nintendo Switch
I must coom. Simple as.
I liked the novelty of it back in the day.
its a nintendo console that plays videogames. have you seen the slop that the competition has been putting out the past 10 years?
