Wher is this alternate universe where Game Freak actually respects Typhlosion and doesn’t get a sick pleasure out of spitting in its fans faces at every opportunity? Sounds like a nice place.
genuinely curious: what do Typhlosion fans see in it? It seems really generic for a fire type, not having any design elements you can't find with most other fire types
It's dynamic. With the exception of Blaziken, Typhlosion and prevos are the only fire types with fire visible present as part of their design who do not also have them on 24/7. This makes the design a lot more flexible and able to convincingly pull off a cute cuddly friendly look or a cool sharp vicious look (which is very important for a starter Pokemon as it lets the player easily make their own interpretation of the mon, something the very personalised newer starters fail to do). I'd also argue that it's the perfect direction for a honey badger in particular, who are very famously known for how fierce they are and their reverse countershading fur pattern, in that the spiky flame aesthetic contrasted to its plain soft underside makes it stand out in much the same way as a threat you don't want to deal with.
Also, badgers are just based
It was easily the best starter choice in Johto, lots of grass and bug types early on, notably Sprout Tower. It's not unheard of to get a Quilava before the first gym.
NTA but It gets flame wheel at level 31 in GSC so around (Chuck/Jasmine/Pryce). A bit later than ideal but not too bad considering most movepools were delayed back then

Oh yeah. I was thinking about HGSS. I guess it's stronger in GSC because it's special and it was supposed to be the Cynda-line's pseudo-signature move.
It's a starter without moves, kinda sad to be honest
In their minds it shouldn't suck this bad
They forget that meganiun one niche was not being weak to psychic for 3 generations and serperior had an even worse movepool with its HA locked away an entire generation
>Typhlosion fans don’t compare it to grass starters because It makes no sense to compare a fire starter to grass starters, Typhlosion’s movepool is far worse than not only other fire starters but most Fire types period >Serperior’s wait was compensated with Contrary, one of the best abilities in the game and it has been amazing since >Typhlosion’s ability was also delayed and it just got Flash Fire, extremely generic and situational compared to the broken abilities like Blaziken’s speed boost that was released early >Most typhlosiomfags are johtofags in general and wouldn’t mind meganium getting buffed anyway >Meganium was allowed to get Pollen Puff a useful move that fits thematically and has been widely requested for it >meanwhile Typhlosion still got nothing in decades and it’s Hisuian form was intentionally gimped with frisk in an open meta
Typhlosion is one of the few pokemom that actually behaves like an animal. Hes silly looking when hes just passively going about the day. When in a fight or potiential attack, hes hunches his head forward, fangs beared and fire out, he takes a wide stance and spreads his arms out to make himself look bigger. Hes just an wild animal and hes the only starter that does this
>It seems really generic for a fire type, not having any design elements you can't find with most other fire types
Maybe I just think those design elements work better on Typhlosion than on the others. This is some weird logic, I guess Bruxish is actually a great design because no other Pokemon shares its ugly-ass design choices?
Disregarding your terrible opinions, the point is that uniqueness isn't an objective indicator of quality. Bruxish is extremely unique, but most people think it looks like shit.
Didn't you get shadowball, it's a hand me down from it's hisuian form but it is still a decent move even without stab
Thyplosion is fine, it's identity is the wingless charizard without moves unless you make a physical set, also it outstats a lot of fire types by virtue of being a starter too
>Didn't you get shadowball, it's a hand me down from it's hisuian form but it is still a decent move even without stab
I mean, if I wanted to spam shadow ball I could just use the Hisuain form >Thyplosion is fine, identity is the wingless charizard without moves
“Wingless CHARIZARD without moves” is not “fine” >unless you make a physical set,
With 84 attack and no set up? >also it outstats a lot of fire types by virtue of being a starter too
outstating means very little when those Stats are arranged in a brainless way
this
Typhlosion line are ostensibly the blandest fire starters ever designed
You are ostensively the blandest anon ever to type on vp

>Badass badger that explodes
Maybe if he had a guitar and broccoli haircut that was made of fire you'd like him
He's cute and fluffy and chubby and i wanna cuddle him
Soft and warm friend.

I've never liked Cyndaquil because you're damn near finished with Johto by the time you get Flame Wheel. And before that you just have Ember.
What are you on about? You'd be like, getting your 3rd by the time you get Flame Wheel

You one shot them regardless of what you pick because they’re still level 3 shitmons.
>It doesn't have a job so it's bad
Zoomers are truly hopeless
It's true. I can't relate to it because it's just an animal, which is boring
It was their first pokemon and can't let go
Good on them for not being fair weather fans then
no my first was Bulbasaur
It's a big exploding badger and that's really cool.
It's a starter without moves, kinda sad to be honest

It was just the sex, tho.
The sex, tho.
slutty creature
>no job and no moustache means......... le bad!
I'm asking the same thing since it's a lazy cartoon Animal with Fire slapped on It
CHARIZARD is just a lazy generic dragon with a dinky flame on its tail and everyone worships that waste of space
At least Charizard IS a Monster typhlosion is literally my mom's malding badger
this
Typhlosion line are ostensibly the blandest fire starters ever designed
I'm not a huge fan but a fire badger thats a living volcano is a sick idea.
I prefer Camerupt though.

le badger explode so epic you must be a zoomzoom unlike us epic oldfags that love typhlosion

Bruxish is legitimately a better design than Typhlosion, yes. Not sure why you brought it up as some counter to anon’s point.
Disregarding your terrible opinions, the point is that uniqueness isn't an objective indicator of quality. Bruxish is extremely unique, but most people think it looks like shit.
>can learn fucking Thunderbolt and Draco Meteor now
he cannot
Ok how you know
The movepool of all mons is out. He cannot learn any of these moves.
still low tier tho
Source? It doesn't appear that it actually got either.
I love Typhlosion so much. Fuck Charizard
