Does Redfall have PvP because if not then it should be in the same category as zelda.

        No.

While it's definitely more of an issue for Redfall, Zelda not having a higher framerate is still a downside and the fact that it dips below 30 is even worse.

The Switch is a 8-to-10 years old mobile hardware and the Xbone SeX is a 4-to-6 PC hardware. It should be easier for Redfall to do 60 fps than Zelda.

  9. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

No one expects Zelda to be hitting 60 fps on the switch. Redfall is on current gen hardware, and has no excuse, and also has a myriad of other issues.

Nintendo gets a pass on a lot of shit that would kill other games, but I think this article is right. For once.

Redfall is a twitchy, sometimes pretty fast paced FPS, so I need all the frames I can get when it comes to shooting, and fixing an engagement that's gone bad. TOTK's camera is zoomed farther out, its not a fast first person shooter, and its designed to be played on both big screens and hand held screens. It can get away with a lower framerate.

      it literally isn't though

But totk runs at 60fps for me?

  12. 3 weeks ago

One is a single player game with quirky physics tied to the fps. The other is an online action game where the quality of gameplay hinges on more factors than just the gwafix. Ones on a hybrid system with 7 year old specs. The other isn't. Why are retards confused about this is the real question

The Switch is a piece of shit garbage tablet, we cannot blame the game itself for the poor performance.
Modern consoles and most computers are fast and should be able to run a game like Redfall, but because the devs are lazy morons with no respect towards gamers, it's unoptimized and therefore runs like shit. So we can blame the game.
Nintendo should go back to breaking grounds in the console market, but since the Wii they've been stuck making gimmicks.

Nintendo bonus is the real reason. Or the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Well. Only one of those games are optimized.
Say what you will about TotK, but it is not poorly coded. Meanwhile Redfall is an embarrassing mess.

Whats hard to understand? A game with 30 fps refresh rate is not the same as a 60fps refresh rate game running at 30 fps

It's about expectations, everyone knows Nintendo consoles are underpowered shitbox toys for kids but expects better from people that advertise themselves as technically competent. It's like going to a fast food place and getting a lousy meal vs going to a proper restaurant and getting a lousy meal.

Maybe if you were talking about a turn based RPG or a visual novel, but honestly anything under 60 FPS is garbage and inexcusable.

switch poopoo, so 30 big number.

  23. 3 weeks ago

It really isn't. Are you expecting 60fps on the Switch? Did they promise before to make it 60fps and drop that soon before release like Redfall?

    They're right
30 fps for a rushed game like Redfall is shit but at least it's 1080p
30 fps for a game by the people who made the console itself at 480p with 6 years of devtime is unnacceptable

Switch is a garbage console, it's not TotK's fault. First party games are the only ones that even manage to almost hit stable 30. Redfall, however, really is just a game problem.

  28. 3 weeks ago

30 fps isn't good for a game which requires fast reaction like Redfall and FPS in general
30 fps is enough for children puzzle solving games with exploration themes though

Sure. 30fps for a game on a weak console is not the same as 30fps for a game on powerful.

  33. 3 weeks ago

redfall is on much more powerful hardware than the switch and isn't doing anything special with its graphics or even overall design to warrant 30fps on series x. whereas tears of the kingdom is running on much more outdated hardware and doing a lot more with interactive physics systems than most other modern games in the genre. if tears of the kingdom was made for a series x level hardware and ran and looked like it does on switch it too would get shit on for it

    HAHAHAHAHA
article title might as well be "yes, it is okay when Nintendo does it"

tbh Redfall is shit and would be shit even at 144hz so who cares

Because TOTK is running on a six year old handheld device and Redfall is running on a two year old home console
