Literally nobody cared about the original Prey 2
PS3 gen console shooters sucked ass with pretty much the sole exception of Halo 3

ADS, asthmatic sprint, uninspired abilities wheel meant to compensate for lacklaster arsenal of nu-shooters, sticky covers, sticky contextual pakour (with wobbly arms animation meaning it blocks you weapon just like sprint), all enemies being just dudes with guns. It was trash.

some anon leaked it years ago and we all played it. There was no functional MP and 2/3 of the maps had voids you could fall into and of course missing assets galore but what we could play was absolutely the greatest of all time. It was a true treasure and I thank whatever deity shined upon us that I was one of the Gankerery lucky anons to have played it.

Not actually canceled, but it may as well have been. Focus tested to hell, stripped of all charm and wit, and pumped out to universal dismissal as Fuse. Now Fortnite is the top game of all time or some shit and IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME.

Prey had a much more soulful backstory than PREY
A guy posted on Ganker near the release of the Arkane Prey 2 that leaked the entire ending to the game and all of the story bits, I remember him saying it sucked. That guy also had knowledge about the original Prey 2's development and said that it was a fucking nightmare, and almost no work had been done on the game besides that little slice they showed off, and it was full of lies anyway. Essentially all they had was a big concrete jungle with randomly generated bounties for NPCs

Eternal Darkness is my favorite horror game of all time. The spiritual successor was probably the last time I was excited about a new western IP.
It's just not fair
Not really "cancelled" but this one killed me. I'd pay $80 for the finished product of this game. A lot of love was clearly poured into this game and it's such a fucking shame Redamz turned the game into a cashgrab
