This game will sell a FUCK TON and get major positive reviews everywhere. This is Capcom's most expensive game of all time. It literally cannot fail.
there is a way it can fail
if they don't include this
>original came out over a decade ago
>they might seriously take this from us
Capcom invested heavily in a state of the art mocap studio just to capture e-bois for pragmata and dd2
they've been known to do that in the past
>invested heavily
for what? smaller mocap suits? is there some kinda of physical or mental e-boi barrier that needs to be penetrated first before they can be mocapped? i'm pretty sure they already had mocap studios.
>physical or mental e-boi barrier that needs to be penetrated
settle down, anon
Don't get your hopes up.
Best we could get is keeping sexy armors but lose the ability to make e-bois in the character creator.
I wonder what exactly he meant by that
face is retarded in cutscenes
gay they just announced that the character creator now will include breasts and bulge sliders, we can make something much better than e-bois now
and it's not like they'll remove it anyway, maybe tone it down
>they announced it
Where? I thought they were going to use a slighty better version of SF6's character creator.
I will be mad until the heat death of the universe if they don't give ItsuKINO full reign over the game.
>most expensive game of all time. It literally cannot fail.
do I need to name examples of when this has failed spectacularly time and time again? I'm a huge Dogmafag but you need to temper your expectations, lest you potentially be sorely disappointed
>removing pawns in favor of co-op, or neutering pawn effectiveness to encourage co-op
>adding mounts
>no e-boi pawns
>ugly RE Engine faces
>convenient fast travel everywhere from start
>combat turned into Souls garbage with lock-on and rolling
>light / lantern mattering way less, if at all
>removal / streamlining of weight system and other "problematic" mechanics like food spoiling etc
>not reworking healing
>no subtle book and scroll aesthetic for the UI
>lacking the myriad attention to detail
>RE Engine signature lack of contrast and color, heavy atmospheric fog
it's unlikely all of these will happen, but I can see at least one, maybe two or more, plus other flaws I can't predict
I'll remain cautiously optimistic and be very happy if proven wrong. Dogma 2 being a disappointment would hurt my spirit
How the fuck is lock-on and rolling a negative you contrarian gay? Oh nooo it will play better and smoother and have shit that DMC3 had (same Director) the horror!
I don't have to explain myself to you
1983 was 40 years ago.
>will play better and smoother
you know nothing about game design if you think lock-on and dodge rolling are mechanics you can slap onto any game and have them improve it
I want Soulsdrones to prolong the age of fire with their fat fucking bodies.
Not every game needs lock on(Monster Hunter pulls it off extremely well) and not every game needs dodging(every vocation has a different defensive toolkit and having a baseline dodge would shit on that design.)
It's fine if you prefer having these things but there's nothing contrarian about saying they're not needed or that they would fundamentally change the Dragon's Dogma experience. This is a fact.
>lock on
>Monster Hunter
>reading comprehension
I'm not a total monster hunter autist but from what I recall the only thing I ever used the lock on for is the center my camera back on the monster when things get really hectic. It's different from most other TPP games in that you still control and attack completely relative to your characters facing and NOT the creature you've locked onto.
The original was wonderful, but the sequel needs like four of five things to make it better.
>more weapons
Axes, polearms (halberds, glaives, pikes, spears, and billhooks), crossbows, whips (including flails), and bombs, guns
>more classes
We need druids, warlocks, duelists, gunslingers, monks, and artificiers
>more towns/cities
At least two human towns and one big human city are necessary, but a Dwarven mountain keep/city and an Elven forest city would be great additions
>more monsters
Slimes, frogmen, snakemen, demons, take old monsters and change them so that they're not just a reskin of another monster, but have their own quirks and abilities, etc.
>more ways to travel
Horseback riding (and horseback combat), swimming, and sailing would all be nice
>more stuff to interact with in the world
More travellers, more merchants, theaters with plays going on, brothels, fishing, farming, random adventurers that occasionally help you out with monsters, etc.
>more clothing options
Change clothing/armor so that it's not restricted by class anymore. If I want to play as a heavily armored sorcerer, I should be able to.
I just want a pugilist class with sick gauntlets and shit. Throw in a God Hand reference or two and I'd piss and shit myself on the spot.
Wasn't the Alchemist in DDO a fistfighter?
Not really
No, it was magical finger snapping golden michael jackson man, and pilebunkers
>Horseback riding (and horseback combat)
this sounds good on paper, but a big part of what makes Dogma feel like such an adventure is being grounded, having to travel slowly and move on-foot with your companions
it makes the world feel a lot bigger since you can't just speed past everything
I understand what you mean, but there are certain points in DD1 when you think to yourself "what the hell, I have to March all the way out to there?" The game should feel like a long journey, but it should also be clear that the devs respect your time. Maybe horses and carriages could be locked behind new game plus? Maybe each time you beat the game, you could unlock a new portion of the towns and cities that gives you new items, abilities and ways to travel?
Portcrystals exist and the world isn't even that huge.
I just hope they have some cooler-looking helmets. A lot of the ones in the first game were pretty lame.
Just some crumb of news... Please, Itsumo-sama...
im sure capcom has some big media tour planned. they're just waiting for the time everyone else does their announcements.
I hope they keep the vertical exploration in. It's insane how much extra treasure you can find with all the movement abilities, like the tall ledge above the BBI's entrance.
The first one looked like a low budget mobile game with that generic fantasy setting.
Hope they improve at least the art direction for the new one.
No it didn't. Why do people keep throwing around that term when they don't understand why people use it? "Mobile" doesn't mean "bad graphics." It refers to a specific type of design meant to cater to the lowest common denominator. The fact that night time in Dragon's Dogma makes the game almost pitch black already exempts it from mobile design.
it's kind of like how people use "looks like a PS2 game" as an insukt as if the PS2 didn't have some of the best looking games ever made (as long as you aren't a braindead retard obsessed with polygon count and photorealism)
It's not about the graphics. The game is just soulless.
Every environment looks uninspired, the bosses are boring, both in design and mechanics, the only exeception is the final boss, which is okay.
The game doesn't have a proper art direction. They just took a bunch of generic fantasy stuff and put in the game. Just like those mobile games.
The one type of class I really feel should be added is a priest/clericit would complete the classic adventure party quartet of str/fighter, agi/rogue int/wizard and wis/cleric.
Then again, religion in dragons dogma is really weird, so its not like priests would get spells from divine favor.
That existed in DDO. A ton of different vocations existed.
DD2 can cannibalize a ton of assets from monster hunter team. I don't think the budget is gonna have to be blown out.
Body type 1/2
Watered down customization
Seasons
No shota/e-boi pawns
Unlimited fast travel
No interesting sidequests
No RPG mechanics
What's wrong with seasons? It'd be cool if areas change based on weather patterns.
No, season passes.
Weather seasons would be too based, the only thing ESG rewards regarding climate is if they include permanent global warming, which specifically means NO WEATHER SEASONS. ESG is all about denying reality with flowery language, it's like a kabbalah ritual.
>pivots and shows his hand
Not getting another (You)
Needs coop.
Even though I have no friends to play it with 🙁
if capcom doesnt put it in modders will.
I’m gonna give the first game a try on console. I’m guessing none of those versions hit 60fps?
Any tips for playing?
>Any tips for playing?
Absolutely DO NOT start as a mage, shit is fucking torture and the tutorial hydra alone will make you want to have a nice day. Also never forgetti you can kick the shit out of the buffalo to make it run faster, bonus points if you have a mage pawn to heal it too.
>we have dark souls at home
Sorry replied to the wrong guy

Two things :
Type A
Type B
LOLOLOLOLOLOL ESG WHORE
name one single game that doesn't have this these days
it's free publicity from ameritards
It's instant sale losses from their core audience and a missed opportunity for free publicity that they would get if they said "Sex : Male | Sex : Female" if they went and ditched the confusing word "gender". Nobody is going to buy a game because they made their menus more confusing you fucking retardo.
>It's instant sale losses from their core audience
Has this ever happened before?
I agree that replacing sex/gender with type a/b is beyond fucking retarded, ignoring context, but I think someone not playing a game because of that is infinitely more retarded.
The context is that it's just a text swap to get brownie points because of a current fad. Nothing else is changed or pozzed.
If I was making a big budget game I'd do the same shit just so I can avoid the headache of dealing with twitter trannies.
You deal with twitter trannies by ignoring the fuck out of them. And seeing that Type 1 Type 2 bullshit is pozzed It tells me that they are willing to adopt that brainrot mindset and can adopt even more of it to poison the well in the long run.
>Nothing else is changed or pozzed.
Then why is the text pozzed HOLY FUCK what is wrong with you? Type 1/Type 2 is sign of infection, what else it could be? It's never a chance occurrence, it's always a sign of being infected by 'that' crowd.
>what else it could be?
something that's easy to do, changes basically nothing and earns you more money
>It's instant sale losses from their core audience
evidently not since the only people that either get mad about it or praise it to high heavens don't play videogames, the people who do play videogames don't care
Dark Souls 1, the GOAT.
Final Fantasy, ironically.
It will probably sell around the same amount as DMCV, likely a little more since it'll be easier to get into (this is still very good). Just don't expect RE or MH numbers.
If they actually put money into marketing and the multiplayer is actual multiplayer this time instead of just pawn rentals I'm expecting close to 10 million.
>the multiplayer is actual multiplayer
fuck no.
We must prepare for it. There is a very real chance Capcom will want to try and get ER success out of DD2. That means things like co-op.
>That means things like co-op.
If it has co-op I'm definitely shilling it to friends and playing it with them so that's already 4 copies instead of 1 purchased for Capcom.
Why not just make it a thing for superbosses like the Ur-Dragon?
There's nothing wrong with co-op since it wouldn't change anything about the game.
Anyone that says this has a fundamental misunderstanding about the first game.
Give an objective reasoning as to why. You could still have Pawns, all choices could remain intact, nothing about the game would actually change except less sifting through trash pawns assuming you're autistic enough to actually do that since nothing in the game requires min/maxing. Including multiplayer would not require sacrificing the Pawn system.
It's gonna be an 7/10 and fail to compare to MHW. Fanboys will cope saying its ok that journalists don't like it, but type A/type B pawns will make most threads unusable for months.
It is gonna flop like the original one
dragon's dogma sold decently well, which is why it even got an expansion
I hope it sells really well so that it can get regular sequels like DMC and Monster Hunter do.
In theory it should sell really well considering Capcom is on a roll, their games are fun and run well so people see Capcom games as "safe" purchases now and Elden Ring was fucking massive so it might capitalize on that a lot because it'll be very similar.
I don't think it'll fail unless they fail to market it or it turns out really shit.
>regular sequels like DMC
>regular sequels like DMC
>This game will sell a FUCK TON
just like the first game didn't?
Want to replay it, but I've already did it with all classes. The modding scene seems pretty dead (guess the engine might have to do with it). Hope DD2 comes out next year at the very least.
have you guys not seen sfv there is no way i would trust capcom to not mess up dragons dogma 2 in fact i hope they never make it
Dragons dogma 2 will be what dragon age inquisition was to Origins.
Working DDO private server when?
They're on the way. Decent strides recently.
