I don't agree with that guy, but they were pushing the supporter edition in their newsletters as a means to play updates early. They finally stopped doing it a few months ago. Probably when they decided they weren't going to use the supporter branch for 1.0.

We haven't see any actual gameplay. I'm curious to see how many bugs there are going to be especially since they abandoned the supporter branch. My only hope is they have a super secret supporter branch to help squash bugs or 1.0 is going to be buggy as shit. The ADAM Update crippled the SWAT AI and flashlights are terrible.

The game is good bones but it has a long ways to go for it to be worthy of 1.0. Like there's no overarching story, no campaign, no logical connection bridging the levels, and the levels don't support every mission nor are there enough to really sustain a full campaign. The AI for the teams and suspects is still clunky, the weapon sandbox has no real progression like in the SWAT series.

Game feels like a tech build currently. The tech is fantastic and it's clear there was a team that wasn't afraid of the subject matter. Unless there's a whole other game, 1.0 is just gonna make it like any other Early Access title where it's "finished" but not really.

I also highly doubt they have the will to do the school shooting map, despite the fact that just about every school in the country has fricking school shooter drills.

          >The update makes the farm day time, completely killing the aesthetic and feeling.

I like smaller maps too. I haven't touched modded maps yet because I wanted to wait for 1.0. Last I heard Farm was always supposed to be a daylight map, but they had issues originally. I don't think the map works as a daylight map though.

They have shown zero gameplay for a year now. And like the Ruby Ridge map proved, some shit that sounds good on paper is just gay to play. Everyone play that map once and moved on. How do I know all these other features they keep talking about won't feel the same way.

If I ever released it, I would do a version with many enemies and a version with the original enemy count. I also test it with a ton of enemies so I can test many spawn points at once. The game will only spawn 10 enemies on a mod map unless you edit the global config file (which can then frick with other mods so I don't), but I have like 35 possible spawn locations. So doing 10 enemies at once lets gives me good coverage on spawn locations. You have to test the spawn locations because sometimes you get people spawning stuck in the level geometry and shit.

    no interesting fail states

maps are small and bland, RS and SWAT had it where steaks would burn and levels would precedingly get more complex to reflect that. barely any interactive elements outside of fricking doors still.

AI lacks the erratic lethal qualities that SWAT/RS had

still no versus mode or footage of it.

Very disappointed with the weapon roster, especially after seeing their most recent update that lists the new editions. The game is almost entirely ARs.

I was hoping for historical police gear. .37 snub nosed revolvers, pump shotguns with wood furniture, M14s, etc... Or at the very least a decent AK. I believe the only vanilla AK is now a sub machine gun one.

Remember that steam is at fault for introducing early access in the first place. This isn't even the first developer that suddenly announced their game is now 1.0 despite being unfinished. Encouraging developers to sell unfinished games on the promise of finishing it eventually should have never been a thing. You have Project Zomboid which will have been in early access for 11 years next year.

The maps have a ton of detail in them. They just need more interactivity. Like working light switches, being able to cut the power from a main breaker etc.

Does anyone know if modders have been able to mod different gamemodes into the existing maps? I haven't been paying attention on what they've been able to do. Hospital is bomb only come 1.0 which is gay.

You can easily mod in other game modes, but they aren't selectable from the in-game menu right now because its hard coded to Barricaded Suspects. You have to use a debug menu mod to be able to launch it with a console command, so most people don't bother.

    Stop playing indie shit.
Daily reminder for the moronic (that includes you): indie games are and have always been shit. Game development is the bottom of the barrel in the tech world. A job where the D students end up. Your indie devs are so much more pathetic they couldn’t even outcompete the D students for actual dev jobs with real companies.
    Let that sink in, D’Andre.

Some of the best games of all times are Indie. Like Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate 3, ArmA 2 and ArmA 3, Terraria, Rabi Ribi, Hollow Knight and Wargame to name my favourites
