We don't. My city is constantly telling people not to swim or raft in the river because it's containmented with shit and every summer there is a legion of people doing just that.
I remember very little about this game but that got me wondering, is it possible to have infinite recyclable resources in this game? as in water treatment creates usable water which creates waste which gets treated and so on, if not are there other games with this idea?
>as in water treatment creates usable water which creates waste which gets treated and so on
Is that realistic? The simulator is doing just that, simulating real life.
I love that game and I had a self-sustaining base when it came to oxygen and water but I think I got issues when it came to food (I started too late with farming). I was also overwhelmed when I realized building a functional base is like 15% of the entire game and that was difficult enough
Divide the organic from the inorganic, burn the unrecylceable, isolate the salts, take away the sedments and make them manure, disinfect the water.
Something like that?
By placing your sewage in a more logical spot. You're literally dumping it into the river, and the arrows tell you where it will flow - up the river. You

>realistic?
it's a game... I don't care about realism
The developers care. The entire point of the game is to replicate real life in a videogame.
Don't buy simulation games if you don't want simulations.
okay then read the last part of my post pedantic b***h
You have to go back.
I don't find it very realistic that cims call corpse collectors from out of town when there is one right around the corner.
I think Oxygen Not Included at least comes very close to that.

Embrace the poo river. When your city is a sufficient size, use it for hydro power
