Furgays don't understand because they show their fetishes out in the open, but this is absolutely a terrible idea. Erosion of privacy happens when governments and corporations get worse, not better. They aren't tracking you because they deserve your trust. And it's not like an institution with that much power will only use it fairly.

I just walk and usually end up at my destination. It's kind of like how you can pick up any tool or device and figure out how it vaguely works just by fiddling around with it for a bit. If something was designed by humans, to be used by humans, then all you have to do is think like a human to figure out how it should be used. Needless to say civilisation, and roads in particular, are very human in design.

People still lived without cell phones.

The only thing they're necessary for is "verification" for corporations to track you.

You can send voice and text over the internet, there's literally no point in paying for a phone number and voice/text other than

"uhhhh you need one because corporations like Microsoft + Activision + Blizzard require you to"

I don't use phones either. I have neither a landline nor a cellphone and there is no law requiring me to get one. People keep trying to get me to buy one but I always give them a simple answer: "Sure, I will take one. Please order me a <insert current iphone> you can drop it off at my place." They always get pissed and threaten me but I couldn't give less shit about it.

This ofc. means I can't hold a job longer than the minimum contract release signed when they hired me. I make sure to only let them know I don't have a phone a few months in. They are by law required to send me all work related documents by post. When my boss asks me how he can contact me I tell him to write me a letter. I don't even give a shit. After a year I can chill 6 months on welfare and they also get pissed and try to cut me out and sanction me but there's nothing they can do. They're also too cheap to just buy me a phone (that I would trash anyway) so they have no excuse.

It's not all great tho. I can't buy a car, or have a credit card, or make contracts or shop online or even buy a bus ticket. I do use fake public numbers from time to time tho.

      >What is the argument against "if you have nothing to hide"
Argument is something like you can't trust other people. It's giving people who govern over you infinite trust that they have not earned and can never earn because only an idiot trusts strangers with total power.

So imagine you're somewhere in a bar or club or even at home and a guy you know pulls a knife out of his pocket and holds it in his hand. The schizo beings yelling
      >omg wtf put that away are you crazy? what you need that for anyway?
while the cool guy who trusts the government would say
      >it's just a knife bro, it's not like he's gonna open it
Then the guy opens the knife and the schizo guy loses his shit
      >what in the frick?!? why did you open it?!? close it and put it away now!
      the glowbro then chimes in
      >what a fricking pussy, it's not like he's gonna stab you in the neck with it bro, just calm down we're all friends here, right? you trust friends, right?
Then the guy with the knife gets up from his chair and gets close to you while pointing the knife at your throat and again the schizo loses all his marbles and runs out of the room screaming while only you, the glowbro and the knife wielding maniac are left.
      >you know, if he wanted to stab you he would have done so from the beginning right? so just relax, he's not gonna do anything
      said the fedposter.

And then you get your throat slit because you failed to act at every previous moment you had to block others from infringing on your personhood.

The more info they got on you, the easier it is to manipulate you. As a simple example you could get different google results or maybe get the "true" results shifted to page 2 and such so you're lead to believe whatever the company wants.

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Every time you put your email, phone number, or any other personal identifier on a database by making an account, you're upping the chance of being a target of hacking attempts, identity theft etc.

These databases are inevitably breached, user information taken and sold on the darkweb. This is how most account hacks happen, user info gained from other breaches. information from different sources is easily put together to get a fuller picture of you, making it easy to at least attempt breaching your personal email/financial accounts or to commit crime in your name via identity theft.

The more accounts you have online with your personal info, the more chance you have of this happening. These companies objectively don't need your phone number, so it's shitty of them to require it and is pure datamining.

      >but ive never been hacked!
Most people don't, doesn't change the objective fact that the chances are raised by these companies demanding sensitive personal info to use an account.

Most of the high level Blizzard execs who didn't come from gaming are ex-CIA. Ion Hazzikostas used to be a lawyer but he was a lawyer who worked for the CIA, especially on the cases where they covered up guantanamo bay tortures. With all of this in mind none of this should be surprising anymore. Blizzard at this point is a front for surveillance and they can get around regulations by making it voluntary on the customers part to give up all their privacy. Not even for free, they willingly pay to give it away.

This is why you should keep your online accounts to a minimum, only what you absolutely need. The more accounts you have that needlessly ask for your personal info like phone numbers etc, the higher the chance of your info being gained in breaches and sold for malicious intent.

This. My carrier is technically not considered post paid by the FTC, so Blizzard won't allow me to use the number I've had for 15 years to play the game I paid for years ago. They're literally stealing my game because I'm not a dumb goy who spends $100 a phone plan.

So far customer service has told me and others to contact our carriers and tell them to get their phone numbers classified as post paid with the FTC, which they are not going to do. There's backlash building on the announcement post and forums.

No I'm just mentally ill. I thought what I said was terribly funny and I'm still laughing about it.
I don't really care about giving people my deets cause I'm old. No 7 days in this b***h yet muh homie.

I have a phone to read books on. I do not have a phone number because that's a waste of money.

Seems like some of us don't. I have a landline (which I don't use, but it exists; byproduct of having an internet connection), but for some reason, it's not considered secure enough (I guess my home being invaded is more likely than a cellphone being stolen).
Communication with strangers/administrations/etc is text only (mail/email). If I have to talk with someone I know, I do it in person.
I don't see what's so unbelievable about it. People always react like it's some crazy thing.

As I mentioned in another thread, some EU countries give customers a right to audit/access/edit/deletion of their personal data on company servers. Trouble is no company I know has ever made the chages in place to allow fair use of those rights for a mass of clients; it's only ever anecdotal).
Could prove funny if many people decided to exercice their rights on OW2 - if only an audit on recorded conversations.

these people are so insecure its not enough to make their own mind about something, EVERYONE else has to have the same opinion or they start doubting their own choices

And remember, they'll still ban you without doing anything and steal all your spent money.

You never could, phone number is a f2p requirement and the game wasn't f2p before

Does Paladins have any other skins? This is the only one you've only ever posted.
