no. the crafting system was ass. and they used mobile game psychology to make it intentionally frustrating, to bait people into spending money on materials
the crafting system sucked and they tried to push mtx in dumb ways but that didnt make the game bad. co-op singlehandedly ruined the entire game. the developers made enemies and zones in the game set so that you were to play them and fight enemies with 2 people and not 1. co-op also completely kills off any sense of horror or any kind of jump scare because how can you possibly get scared when you have someone with you? its not possible to make a good horror game and have co-op included, it immediately makes the game garbage and childish.
whatever your definition of a horror game is isnt a horror game. >dude phasmophobia!
literally only playable solo. extremely cringe and boring when played with others.
This.
Also they changed Ellie, gave her a boob job and made her helpless and stupid. In ME2 she's capable and helps Isaac out. Here she's useless.
That whole love-triangle is stupid as hell.
Also, the dodging was a clear sign they didn't get what made the first games' gameplay good.
>And it didn't even work.
i forgot about that kek the dodging really was entirely useless. literally went to test it out myself, no matter how well you time a dodge you could never dodge a necromorphs attack.
>And it didn't even work.
i forgot about that kek the dodging really was entirely useless. literally went to test it out myself, no matter how well you time a dodge you could never dodge a necromorphs attack.
the only times i ever used dodge was vs that crustacean necromorph boss and it worked really well
thats because the balance of the game was retarded and you have co-op to blame for that. the whole game was made with co-op in mind, enemy design and balance and same goes for the weapons.
>the game was otherwise good
nah it wasn't. once you hit the ice planet the game turns to complete shlock and never recovers. the weapon customization was neat but it being mtx ridden wasn't necessary, then they did THAT DLC ending. DS3 was okay at best.
I had fun with it. Coop too whenever my partner wasn't a mexican with their mic perpetually on. >retrieving rosetta pieces >get to the hall with lasers and the big slab that blocks them >make it through, toss the piece we need down the hall which triggers splitter parts >me and teammate nuke the hallway with max fire rate rocket launchers >assume everything is dead after 20 seconds on firing and begin to go back through >about to pass a laser on the other side when splitter head grabs me >teammate assumes i've passed and shoves the slab and me into the next set of lasers >blows all my limbs off and plays the death animation with the splitter head walking off in my body with no limbs
One of my favorite coop moments.
I love playing this game with friends. I think a lot of people get caught up on the fact that it’s a Dead Space sequel and gets disappointed because it’s so different than 1 and 2. If you look at the game as its own thing it makes for a great co-op action game.
Plasma cutter is the best general purpose weapon hands down. Force gun is a good "get off me" option and shotgun does mg's job better. Contact beam is nice for spider fights, finishes him up nice and quick. My resources drones gradually bugged out and stopped returning to my inventory so I cheated in a shit load of ration coupons and got all the best chips and frames with them.
the best gun in the entire game is the burst rifle with high damage with high firerate. it essentially breaks the game and you can kill everything without shooting any limbs off.
I haven't played it since it was first released, but I remember making some gun that killed 80% of enemies in one shot. It was like sniper parts with other parts that strengthened shots or something.
Wasn't quick but didn't need to be when you just needed one shot.
Look buddy, you're an engineer, not Johnny Shootbang soldier guy. You make practical tools to deal with practical problems.
Rivet gun with electrocution module. Stasis coating or co-op module if wanted.
High magazine pistol, pop an enemy or the ground near them and then hit your secondary fire. Stuns and damages crowds, stops axe necros from transforming once they're dead.
It's especially weird since the player hasn't seen Isaac and Ellie be partners.
There's a timeskip in which they were dating and then broke up and now the game is about them getting back together? Why the fuck should we care when we didn't even see them be together the first time? Is this a relationship worth fighting for? Were they good together? Who the fuck knows.
How do I make this game difficult? Playing on hard getting a large medkit from almost every necro I just kill. Are there any mods or trainers for this?
>How do I make this game difficult? >he needs to make the game tedious and bullet sponge like to enjoy it
difficultyfags are the worst gays in the entire gaming community alongside unpaid shills.
No, you. Most of the suits are just recolors with different helmets, and that’s lazy as hell compared to the first and second game that had unique suits for every upgrade. They also threw out armor upgrades and suit bonuses, which was incredibly lame.
>Most of the suits are just recolors with different helmets
they literally did this with the 2nd game too you dumb retard. >and that’s lazy as hell compared to the first and second game that had unique suits for every upgrade.
dead space 1 had unique armor upgrades, dead space 2 did not. you didnt play the game lmao >They also threw out armor upgrades
again, you didnt play the game. dead space 3 had armor upgrades and they were just as lame/generic as the past games
You’re such a blatant liar. On the first playthrough of 2, you start with a straight jacket, then get the Engineering Suit, Security Suit, Vintage Suit, and finally the Advanced suit, while the Hacker Suit is a bonus from beating Ignition. All of them are very unique in appearance. The rest of the recolors are either DLC or bonus unlockables.
In 3 however, you start with Isaac wearing the Hacker Suit with slight differences, then get the EVA Suit, Arctic Survival Suit, Archeologist Suit, Legionary Suit, and finally the Elite Suit. The Arctic Survival and Archeologist suits are blatantly recolors of each other with different helmets, and the same is true for the Legionary and Elite Suits.
As for the armor upgrades, I was talking about getting armor upgrades with every new suit.
As someone ready said, suits in 2 were lazy too and didnt change with upgrades like the mining rig.
You had like 5 recolors of the first suit you get, the vintage suit and maybe one other.
nah
didn't have the atmosphere
didn't have the soul
didn't have the intense moments where you weren't sure if you would have enough ammo to make it out alive
it was certified EAslop
>didn't have the atmosphere
can say the same about dead space 2 >didn't have the soul
true >didn't have the intense moments where you weren't sure if you would have enough ammo to make it out alive
this never happened in any of the games regardless of difficulty, you have shit aim >it was certified EAslop
true
How did 200 year old tech, lightbulbs and shit still work down on the planet? Werent there some places with lit candles too?
Im not gonna question it too much because I like how it looks but it makes little sense.
The Deep Dig and Flight Suits share the body model of of the EVA Suit. There’s also the First Contact Suit, which is a straight recolor of the entire EVA Suit, but it’s stated to have been made by SCAF.

yeah youre right lol. just checked it. EA must have just stopped giving a shit about the game and wanted to push it out. doesnt surprise me incompetent shit like that happened considering 2013 was around the time the gaming industry started to go downhill violently.
true lmao. the remake is a blatant downgrade. the remake looks worse graphically somehow despite newer technology and artistically looks bad for the most part.
Its the art direction related to colors. I think the original had some color correction but also the contrast between well lit areas and gore looked better. Remake is too dark.
Its literally the soul/soulless meme.
I can’t believe they made one uniform, slapped different armor plates on it depending on which upgrade it was, along with the helmet just changing the plating on the front while the back part stays the same. It feels so lazy when the original had unique models for all the suits outside of the DLC suits.
Shit take, the game was not great for many reasons >love triangle drama story >new weapon upgrade system that replaced power nodes >combat was geared towards body shots instead of tactical dismemberment >necros get introduction cutscenes >standardized ammo >it was action instead of horror >the autosave system was atrociously bad
There were some cool moments and it was atmospheric/comfy but all these problems drag it down. I'm usually pretty easily scared but the only semi-creepy part was the derelict spaceships.
The part that pissed me off was when you just arrive on the first ship youre not supposed to expect necros yet. There is this whole slow buildup with the quarantine lockdown where you open the door and find first slashers. But if you actually decide to go spacewalking before entering ship you encounter lurkers which completely ruins the whole reveal. Couldnt they code it in a way where you only encounter them after the intended reveal?
Still, I'd rather take the original DS3 than a soulless remake.
>HUR DUR IT'S NOT SCARY
Fucker Dead Space 1 wasn't scary in the slightest, you fucking fags think a necro jumping out of a vent behind you on a space empty mining is >horror
Lmao
eh >Crafting syste diluted a lot of the individual personality from weapons, which is sad after DS2 had an all time great weapon roster >Only vaguely likable characters are Isaac and Ellie, everyone else, including marine man, sucks even considering when you're intended to dislike them >game is flat out ugly with bad lighting when ds1 and 2's gorgeous, moody lighting keeps them looking pretty good to this day >Setpieces aren't as memorable as 1 or 2's
The only thing is the orbit part of the game but that's not exactly fully realized, it's a small part
I lament the fact that you can tell Visceral cared till the end and as much as they could by envriromental design alone,
while annoyingly designed graveyard ships and Tau Volantis are beautiful to explore
that alone tells me that everything wrong with DS3 is entirely EA's fault
>that alone tells me that everything wrong with DS3 is entirely EA's fault
of course. EA is also delusional and extremely retarded. they were expecting dead space 3 to make as much as a regular call of duty release over the course of the month or else there wont be a 4th game. obviously it didnt do that.
anyway what the fuck went wrong in 2013?
it like basedboy gays took over the industry and started making every tripleA release shit, in the same year DS3 having fanfiction tier writing Prototype "2" was released where you murder the protag of the last game as a fucking moron
2013-2014 specifically were the years where video games and media/entertainment in general got very greedy whilst simultaneously becoming more political and incompetent. reason? liberals, social justice warriors, feminism that kinda garbage.
one I just cannot get even if I know why is how fucking hard it snowballed into the hellscape of today,
you would think after franchises dying one after another by having worse than wattpad fanfiction would be sign of stop,
but instead we live in a fucking time where literally faggy demakes are meant to remove the legacy of originals

not true at all

Carver’s co-op sections were the best parts of the game, since that’s where the schizo meltdowns are relegated.
This.

Agreed, Ellie best companion in ME2.

I was mostly annoyed with how they give you all these neato melee upgrades for your weapon but they all sucked. They were terrible.
thats because the balance of the game was retarded and you have co-op to blame for that. the whole game was made with co-op in mind, enemy design and balance and same goes for the weapons.

Speaking of guns, what are some good ones? I keep finnagling with them but keep going back to the machine gun and plasma cutter.

High magazine pistol, pop an enemy or the ground near them and then hit your secondary fire. Stuns and damages crowds, stops axe necros from transforming once they're dead.
You say that as if the best weapons weren’t the Pulse Rifle in 1 and the Seeker Rifle in 2.
...
"UOH NO MY ELLIE" Shut up Clarke we got a mission to do.
The love triangle is a weird focus of the third game. I would bet there’s an interesting story behind who forced it into the game and why.
Why wasn't Ellie the other co-op partner?
How do I make this game difficult? Playing on hard getting a large medkit from almost every necro I just kill. Are there any mods or trainers for this?
Play it on impossible or survival with gamepad only.
No to mention about the hardcore mode.
>How do I make this game difficult?
>he needs to make the game tedious and bullet sponge like to enjoy it
difficultyfags are the worst gays in the entire gaming community alongside unpaid shills.
No. The relationship drama has nothing to do with co-op.
It still had the worst suits in the series.
nah. you just have shit taste.
No, you. Most of the suits are just recolors with different helmets, and that’s lazy as hell compared to the first and second game that had unique suits for every upgrade. They also threw out armor upgrades and suit bonuses, which was incredibly lame.

Why do a few SCAF suits have the exact same body model as the EVA Suit when they were made Literal centuries apart?
Because people stopped caring around 3, since they knew EA was going to fuck them over.
How did 200 year old tech, lightbulbs and shit still work down on the planet? Werent there some places with lit candles too?
Im not gonna question it too much because I like how it looks but it makes little sense.

>posts literal copy and pastes of suits he was JUST complaining about
room temp iq retard. way to prove yourself wrong.
The difference is that you won’t get the recolors on a first playthrough, dumbass.
>still can’t use Gabe’s suit because it’s console exclusive DLC
Why did they do this?
better question is why didnt EA give us the dlc for free on pc. they already gave us the free dlc skins anyways.
Why wouldn’t they? It encourages people to buy more copies. Just like the PS3 and XBOX 360 exclusive skins for 1.
For me its Level 3
Elite Advance Suit
Arctic Survival Suit
So much better than the remake.
true lmao. the remake is a blatant downgrade. the remake looks worse graphically somehow despite newer technology and artistically looks bad for the most part.
Its the art direction related to colors. I think the original had some color correction but also the contrast between well lit areas and gore looked better. Remake is too dark.

Its both funny and embarassing what they did with that white elite soldier suit in the remake. Modern designers are retards.
>MALEBOLGIA!!! WHERE IS WANDA!!
left just looks like some random concept art stolen of deviantart
Someone at Motive was playing too much Overwatch.
I can’t believe they made one uniform, slapped different armor plates on it depending on which upgrade it was, along with the helmet just changing the plating on the front while the back part stays the same.
