Set 10 years after the first game. It will have returning characters from Code Vein and God Eater.
Blood Veils now are used for the block function, with veils more suited for dodge playstyles and other for tanking/blocking. All weapons of a weapon type will share the same moveset short of their special heavy and charged attacks. The block and parry functions related to blood veil can be used for combos or special attacks, those are modified passively through Blood Code skills.
Blight, contained in the Aragami of death, can block the regenerative properties of revenants and the protagonist can use it as resource capable of altering the protagonist blood code and the equipment.
Less focus on stamina management with no stamina cost for basic offensive options, similar to God Eater
The game setting starts with human survivors and the vampiric revenants cooperating against the Aragami threat, thanks to revenants ability to cheat Death.
A settlement gets ambushed and an aragami named Shi starts killing the revenants who lose their regenerative properties and get infected with a black substance. Only the player can reawaken due to a fairy/guarding spirit in an amber bead controlling the Blight. The turorial is the aftermath, as Shi's Blight infects and turns humans into various monsters. The fairy projection will serve as companion throughout the events.
The game has a mission/hub structure with large mission zones. The amber bead will serve to clear blight/rot mistle which will serve as checkpoints.

The only reason it sold so well was due to leeching Dark Souls' popularity by selling itself as "the anime version". The game itself wasn't liked and that's why Bamco abandoned it as soon as the last DLC was released.

I also think that's partially the reason why the game succeeded. It was also covered by a ton of e-celebs like Pongsifu, Charlie and Iron Pineapple, which probably boosted sales significantly, on top of Bamcos crazy marketing. Games like God Eater and Scarlet Nexus didn't have the same luxury unfortunately.

Successful games always get Denuvo removed because they sold so well and are so liked the antipiracy protection isn't necessary anymore.
Games that either sold like shit (the few indie games that used Denuvo) or sold well but everyone hated (Code Vein) never get it removed because it's cheaper to wait for the Denuvo contract to run out than coding the anti-tamper out of the game.
When the contract runs out and the game is rendered unplayable, no one cares because no one cared about the games themselves. I doubt someone will protest in five years when he can't run fricking Dead Rising 4 or Code Vein

My theory (and I'm 100% sure that's what is happening) is that Bandai Namco will push Scarlet Nexus and that game will get a sequel while Code Vein will never get anything else besides a nod in the form of costumes on other Bandai Namco studios games.
- From Software and Bandai Namco have a working relationship again, making the need of having an "in-house" Soulslike unnecessary. Remember, back in 2017 (when Code Vein was conceived and announced) From had finished their three games contract with Bandai Namco and the future of Souls-likes was uncertain.
- Scarlet Nexus is very similar to Nier Automata: an action game on the same vein as Devil May Cry / Bayonetta but with a heavy focus on narrative and characterization. Unlike the Souls clones that we got since Dark Souls exploded in popularity, no one else tried to make their own Nier Automata clones, so it's an untapped market. That's where Scarlet Nexus enters.
Now, you can argue that Code Vein should get a sequel because, as Nioh proved, a Souls clone can carve its own niche even when it never becomes as popular as a From Software game. The problem is that Code Vein wasn't a particularly well received game, and the consensus is pretty much "shitty Souls clone. Nice character creator tho".

I can just buy the Deluxe version off of grey market, but I wasn't sure if the game was worth it since I like anime and Dark Souls, but hear bad things about Code Vein and some difficulty spikes like some cathedral map or something.

The female artist just did what she typically always drew, her style didn't change for her Code Vein work itself. Claiming that the characters were made overtly sexy as a way to pander and increase sales is just wrong and plain false. A lot of xoke troons try to claim this about every single anime games without understanding that this level of sexy is NORMAL for anime as a medium and any games inspired from said medium.

Worked on my machine and I enjoy how the game was balanced for coop even while solo. I hated Scarlet Nexus so much that it killed my interest on a potential Code Vein 2. Even more given how the original Code Vein devs and the Scarlet Nexus shitheads fused and became a single entity so probably a Code Vein 2 would be more of a Scarlet Nexus 2, being Code Vein in name only.
But that's wrong? Scarlet Nexus was developed by Tose Soft and BN's in house development team. Shift provided a few key employees, temporarily, during the development. But that was the extent of it.
