>Releases December 12
Oh boy oh boy
it's just gonna get delayed again isn't it?
also it's coming out on GOG which is nice
I wasn't that impressed by the look of the starship troopers series, this gives the impression of them just grabbing IP licenses and making the same game over and over again.
So is this basically XCOM but Stargate?
I think it's more Desperados or Commandos.
that's a perfect format though. i guess you could do a first person adventure/shooter type deal but i think with all the gadgets in the show like zats and various grenades it makes good sense to do an xcom style thing
First research option after capturing some Zat'nik'tels is duct taping two together to make a one hit kill Side by Side Zat.
eh look kinda boring to be frank
?t=327
>female "gamer" restarts game instead of adapting
lel, i still cant believe they let that shit slide
Teal'c, you are our best shot at getting this Valvian technology into the hands of the kids. That speech of yours might have to extend a few hours, if you know what I am saying.
I do not
GOOLD?
Indeed
I may have gotten laughed out of academia, but I was right!
I feel like an Evil Genius clone would be a good fit for Stargate but the only way that would happen is with moding
Teal'c you idiot, the best Stargate gaming experience is actually a Minecraft mod
I love sci-fi but I can't bring myself to watch these old shows. They just look extremely dated especially when you've watched stuff like The Expanse, Altered Carbon, and Mass Effect.
>watched
>mass effect
Zoomies don't play games anymore, Anon.
Good luck with the genre then.
Stargate really isn't good. Only saw it as a kid and recently tried watching it again after seeing the mid movie, it doesn't hold up.
TNG on the other hand, sure some episodes are shit and average with most of the last season being kinda bad but overall it's pure kino.
Nah it's still good fun and 100x better than most modern crap. It was back when sci fi TV shows could actually be fun before BSG made everyone decide everything had to be a miserable soap opera drama.
For me its the opposite, Trek always seemed boring as fuck to me and every alien just being an odd looking human was hard to take seriously
At least with stargate it is explained that the aliens abducted humans from various cultures and made them slaves spread across the galaxy so its less strange to meet other human looking people
That's explained in Trek as seeding also and before SG stole the concept
Seeding doesnt explain the majority of Trek races and isnt the same as aliens abducting people
>every alien just being an odd looking human was hard to take seriously
Convergent evolution
Nah it's cause almost every race in the galaxy came from the same genetic code seeded by that founder looking bich
>Stargate really isn't good.
It's a schlocky space opera, it's more comparable to a sitcom than it is TNG.
computer, deactivate iguana
Watch the film, then the first few seasons of SG-1.
It is dated, but it's still pretty good.
The movie sucks what are you talking about? Show was the only good thing to come out of it.
You're missing out, SG-1 is peak television
SG1 is as good as sci-fi TV gets, just stop watching it by season 4 or 5, shit gets stale after that.
TV peaked in the 90s and early 00s, its been trash since.
season 3 is literally when it gets good. Doesn't really get stale until season 8
I still really liked the later seasons since it started getting self aware in a fun fan service sorta way like Supernatural did. The bank heist episode in the last season is one of my favorites
>TV peaked during my child and teenage years
yeah, when you were at your must naive, inexperienced and retarded is when media was at it's peak.
Self awarness of a fucking ameoba some of you homosexuals have.
name one (1) good show worth watching since Band of Brothers
Generation Kill.
>yeah, when you were at your must naive, inexperienced and retarded is when media was at it's peak.
Yes, have you watched modern TV, it's fucking dogshit meanwhile I can binge 10 seasons of SG1 no problem.
>TV peaked when TV budgets were at their highest and cable had a captive audience
FTFY
It's not a coincidence all the best sci-fi series were made when studios could dump millions of dollars on passion projects made by and for a niche audience of nerds. All modern sci-fi is dumb drama bullshit made for couples to watch, because they can't justify making it unless they shoot for the LCD.
>cable
no-one got cable here
it was $100/mo for like 20 channels of mostly news and sport which you could watch for free anyway
then it died when they started putting ads on cable, which the whole point of paying for it was to not have any ads.
Children are born pure, typically.
Are you some ignorant mongrel who allowed the reality outside to tear your capacity for pure judgement of items "as is"?
I don't believe that. We come into this world kicking and screaming, violent and unstable. It is our natural state. The shaping touch of the culture we grow up in is what teaches us morals and civility.
Sucks to be you, then. Oh well, more mortal issues and their silly outlooks.
It would only suck to be me if my childhood culture was something like what the modern day culture is. It's already bad enough seeing it from the outside.
Fair enough.
I haven't felt that about SG-1, to be honest.
It probably helps that the show is based around "Contemporary" earth, and stayed at that tech level for a good while.
You're missing out on the best sci fi; Babylon 5, Lexx, Farscape
Twilight Zone
Star Trek (Original Effects)
SG-1
Get some taste lad
>look extremely dated
so? a lot of old games look awful as well but are still great games, same goes for tv series
I thought so too, but I ended up binging TNG and DS9 during covid after giving it a try
>watched
>mass effect
ZOOMER
I liked everything I've seen but they're usually so long that I can't watch them without feeling dumb.
Being able to do something else while watching would fix that, but I'm too dumb for that.
>especially when you've watched stuff like The Expanse, Altered Carbon, and Mass Effect.
kek imagine thinking any of these shitty shows hold a candle to Star Trek TNG or Stargate SG1
bait
Holy shit have a nice day leftist retard. Yes they have white people in them. Get the fuck over it.
Well baited, Ganker is fucking pitiful. Jesus fuck.
It's still better than Ganker
funny post or horrible zoompinion, i'm not sure
>Mass Effect
Um. The series is heavily inspired by Stargate SG-1. Give it a go, you will enjoy it.
I dont know how any one watched atlantis regularly. I could barely make it through the series despite skipping most of the episodes with a watchguide. I dont even remember a good episode from it
as someone who watched when it was originally airing, it was by far the best thing on UK telly
Rodney kept me watching and it had some high points but man it was really rough. At least the final episode was pretty crazy
I don't get how people don't like Atlantis, it was a good premise and pretty solid throughout even if it never reached the sg1 highs
Filtered
>I love sci-fi but I can't bring myself to watch these old shows. They just look extremely dated especially when you've watched stuff like The Expanse, Altered Carbon, and Mass Effect.
Its quite the opposite since this show is soft disclosure for USAF and freemasons
Reminds me to give the pegasus chronicles mod for empire at war a go again
soul
>finally upgrade to 4k monitor
>Empire at War suddenly now stutters and frequently crashes
>can't alt-tab without fucking all my other windows unless I'm at native res + sometimes it just crashes from it
>windowed mode even more prone to crashes
Welp, guess I'm just never playing that game or its mods again.
Yeah it doesn't seem to like modern machines too much, there's probably some combo of fan patches you can use though
I've tried a few different ones to little avail. Only thing that kinda worked was setting the resolution to 720p in windowed mode and using a program called Lossless Scaling to scale it up to screen size. The low resolution seemingly staved off the crashes from it being windowed, but it would always start up again if a galactic conquest game got long enough or if too many units were in skirmish (usually 4+ players/AI). Sometimes ships jumping in to space battles would randomly crash too.
Makes me wonder why modders haven't moved on with there being so many issues in playing the game these days.
I think it's just a really good platform for modding, not many other games do what empire at war did
God i love the turtle ship design of the BC-304
Destiny... Home...
SGU was so fucking dogshit
I watched stargate growing up, and I figured it was just nostalgia that I liked it so much, so I re-watched all of SG-1 and Atlantis over a couple months and it all held up nicely. Tried watching SGU, and had to quit midway through the second season because it was so fucking boring.
SG1 predicted SGU. Blame executive meddling for SGU being shit. They wanted edgy younger audiences, so they made a YA drama in space featuring stargates. The concept for SGU was solid, but the story just got fucked. Hard. And at least if you absolutely hate it, you can always have your head canon be that Eli failed, died, and everyone ends up dead in space or in perma stasis.
>SG1 predicted SGU.
God, they did, didn't they? Episode 200 where Marty pitched that edgy young hip cast with the young T. It was a JOKE and it became REAL.
>The concept for SGU was solid, but the story just got fucked.
The biggest problem, aside from dumb forced drama among the retarded crew, was overuse of the ancient communicator stones. This is a sci-fi show about a crew of people on an ancient ship stranded in uncharted space but like 80% of the screen time was spent on modern day earth when it should've been about exploration and solving problems.
>overuse of the ancient communicator stones
NTA but no argument from me there - single biggest stumble of the series.
Better setup would be zero communication with Earth at all until after it's a season or two in. Source the drama in the crew attempting to survive, learn more about the ship and its mission, and dealing with their isolation and not knowing what's happening to their family, friends, and planet.
They had a chance to rectify this with the episode where there's an attack on Earth in 'Alliances' - their connection gets cut off and its unclear whether they'll ever be able to regain communication, whether the bomb went off, and if it did what the consequences would be, and they even kept that going for most of the following episode where their one attempt to use the stones again has them reconnecting with dead crew members. Then they stupidly bring the stones back and let them work again without issue.
The core of the show is good - the arguments over whether or not Destiny's mission is more important than the mission to return home, the trichotomy between Rush, Young, and Eli (especially once Eli grows some fucking balls) is terrific, and it's got a ton of great designs in it. It's just ruined by a couple of weak characters and story concepts they threw in in a shameless attempt to have their "lost in space desperate sci-fi adventure" and eat their "YA drama" cake too.
I don't 100% agree on the rush-young-eli conflict being good, but everything else you pretty much got spot-on.
I'd like SGU a lot more if:
>No Chloe
>No contact with earth after the pilot episode
>No communicator stones
>No forced drama between the crew, no dumb relationship drama
>No Chloe
>Make Rush less retarded
>More exploration of the ship and alien worlds, working together to solve problems, fighting common enemies
>Actual soundtrack instead of shitty licensed music overtop clips of people pretending to act
>No Chloe
to their credit - chloe got more interesting when she started turning into an alien hybrid
at least she was hot
Was the lesbian couple really necessary to add?
>Better setup would be zero communication with Earth at all until after it's a season or two in.
The issue is that having communication was clearly to cut cost by having on Earth scenes.
Could just have talking scenes take their place.
you've got a giant motherfucking spaceship set - fucking use it, it's already built. you don't save any money doing location shoots with tons of extras.
If they really went all in on knocking off Rendezvous with Rama it might have been decent
Destiny itself was a kino ship.
Also isn't it funny that the most annoying threat Earth faces in the show turns out to be a criminal merchant conglomerate?
More evidence they should have completely cut Earth out of the show - SG1 and SGA literally killed off all the actual serious threats in to the Great and Terrible Tauri Empire and had to asspull the fucking Lucian Alliance into something dangerous
I was actually going for a conspiracy angle, but that works too.
>had to quit midway through the second season
You stopped right where it got genuinely good. That said, yeah, most of SGU is fucking dreary. I'm unlikely to ever rewatch it because it takes so long to get to the good parts, and then the show ends in an egregious cliffhanger not long after.
1:10 shot looks pretty cool. looks like some into cutscene for a video game ending on the actual fakkin stargate doing its thing in the ship . always a cool thing because you never know what comes out of stargate, some dildo of the end of your world; its an emotional holdup so it always gets ur attention, with the fuckin round shit spinning pretty awe inducing
I loved that the original skunkworks testbed FTL ship was a giant hunk of crap that looked like it was going to fall apart at any moment.
Stargate ships give me a raging hard-on
Stargate went to shit anyway
I was about to argue with you but then I realized I completely forgot about Universe. God what a piece of shit
but but marine milkies!
Rodney liked.
Fuck forgot image
Her nudes are even better than you could imagine
Don't forget about StarGate Origins!
Stargate has a perfectly reasonable ending point at season 8. All the big bads are beaten and the show ends on a great bookend episode that ties back to the original movie. No reason to go from there in a literal sense.
Most shows that run for more than 7 seasons do. That's why it's important to end early on a satisfying conclusion, but studio suits will try to run anything into the ground for a little more money.
How do you make a game out of go somewhere, meet the locals, kill snakes, fuck a local hottie then leave
A game that lets you mail a naquadah nuke to the Tollan planet would be appreciated
They are our greatest ally
Actually it's the Asgard
That would be the nox
>oh, you need our help tau'ri?
>too bad, not our problem, try again when you're not monkey people you fuckin primitives
SOMEHOW
APOPHIS HAS RETURNED
Wrong!
No way he comes back from this!!!
>Help me!
>No.
O'Neill (two ls) giving no quarter.
Aposissies....why are we the punching bag of stargate?!
They made fun of it in character with that episode where Dan Castellaneta is revealed to have been swapping memories with O'Neill for years
Iirc they made fun of daniel being jesus too
Dan's reaction to Daniel dying was great, full of emotion
>newfags dont know that the Stargate mod for Space Engineers is one of the games best mods
Space engineers would scratch my gmod spacebuild itch if it actually had planets. It's very disappointing that nothing really does what spacebuild did, even 15 years hence
>if it actually had planets
anon it had planets like 8 years ago
How many players per server?
i play singleplayer, but there are lots of 100man servers out there.
factions servers, PVE, PVP the lot
there's even a PVP pro scene.
Ganker fucking sleeps on this game, its literally a better minecraft with 1000s of good mods.
Is it on console?
yes
this is a screenie from my comfy lake-side hydrogen farming base. i have scripted ships shuttling container loads of hydrogen up to my space station every now and then so i can keep my ships fueled.
coming in to land on my moon base
Remember when after 8 seasons they ended the show by murdering the main cast and replacing them with an alternate timeline
>hasnt been topped to this day
They honestly got the models for the gates perfect
was fun playing with this shit in that spaceship building game mode. sadly garrys mod is too jank to do much and the gamemode had barely any gameplay
I mean the fun was just the sandbox element of exploring planets in ships and building space based. The real problem was the Devs over complicating it in the end, became far too bloated
The only good use Starfield will have is being a good platform for a full Stargate conversion mod.
>loading screen every time you go through a gate
At least the show has one built-in. It's been evidenced in older mods for older BGS games that you can alter loading screens to display unique stuff.
>At least the show has one built-in.
Yes but in later season's loading times reduced.
I don't think it would work well with the vanilla game but it's impressive how many issues it would solve for an Enderal-style expansion.
>no space to complain about
>travel through gates onto wildly different planets in contained, hand-crafted land masses
>could leave most of Earth intact but inaccessible except your base
>more combat diversity what with stargate's weird weapons and shields
Huh.
>implying
>that dialing noise
Cool but that just doesn't sound right
>Jackson struggles and stutters in basic conversations when talking in the ancient language he's supposedly been using daily and studying while living on the other planet for at least a year with a wife who speaks it
>whom he even taught English to along with some of the other natives
This made me lose interest in the series very fast even tried watching some of the highest rated episodes but it just isn't for me.
Daniel will NEVER be Abydonian or learn the Ancient's starrunes
*Ascends in your path*
*Ultimately helps people of Abydos to ascend too, by proxy*
Now that the dust has settled, WHAT FATE OMOROCA?
what the fuck was the deal with those guys anyway. they're in like one episode of the whole series
They didn't really have a purpose other than WHAT FATE OMOROCA
A lot of early episodes were just planet-of-the-week stuff where they took real world mythological stories and adapted them to the Goa'uld running plot. Some of them stuck (Asgard), others didn't (Omoroca).
If you didn't already know, Omoroca is the Babylonian name for the Mesopotamian Tiamat, and the episode was referencing the story of how Bel Marduk killed her and ripped her body apart to create the heavens and earth.
>Amazon owns the Stargate license
>does fuck all with it
I hate Bezos so goddamn much.
Well Teal'c, MGM are run by idiots.
God I spent so much time fucking around with these. I feel like I remember them being wire mod compatible so you could make your own manual dialing system.
>Team's dedicated nerd is Rodney and not Samantha Carter
Dr. Rodney McKay is one of the greatest if not THE greatest minds of our generation and without me Atlantis would have gone to crap several times over.
>without me
Right
zelenka is cute
>gave a character only memorable for being tsundere towards sam his own spinoff
weird choice
It worked. Him and Sheppard were the best parts of Atlantis.
Also
>tfw you will never live in a world where Joe Flanigan was able to buy the rights to Stargate before MGM went bust
It worked. He has great chemistry with John and Ronon.
btw Joe Flanigan would have been the perfect casting choice for Nathan Drake in an Uncharted movie.
>he dislikes Rodney
Weak!
McKay is great but I'll grant you that Carter was unfairly hot.
God I want to fuck Sam so much.
Sam is for cuddling for warmth on ice planets
*naked cuddling
But anon, that would allow all the heat to escape
we'll be creating a lot of heat
but that's against regulation
worth it
>*Gets beamed up by Thor mid thrust*
Anyone else remember when this was going to be a thing?
Didn't amanda tapping record a bunch of lines for it and everything?
>Stargate
Make way for the superior show.
Lost its way after Season 4
This design overlap is so on-point that I wonder if it was intentional.
>your weapons are so low tech that everyone stopped developing technology to deal with them
Thor was quite rude.
Also friendly reminder from Daniel that the Zat is retarded https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGFz3X8PqKM
Our weapons are "unique" in barbarity because we developed doctrine during Goa'uld occupation that simply didn't need to change. Everyone else uses weapons of terror and we got good at real war.
I watched
>All the Star Treks up to Enterprise
>Farscape
>Stargate (Movie, SG-1, Atlantis, Universe)
>Babylon 5
What else should I watch?
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
logh
The Expanse
Dark Matter
Space: Above and Beyond
Enterprise. (no really, like jump halfway through s1)
Wait, there's a gmod stargate server?
It almost happened.
I feel like I remember this but it's like a vague fever dream where I wasn't sure if it was real or not.
It was real, but it got cancelled.
I'm surprised there isn't a big Stargate mod for the original X-COM
Go be a zoomer elsewhere.
The SNES version was so much better. The MD/Genesis ver. was fucking horrible. Even the control scheme got nuked to make up for having one less face button and no shoulder buttons (such as making the run button the same as the grenade button, and that's just retarded). The music was awful (they didn't even use FM synth and it sounded like shitty mid-90's ringtones), there were no mode-7 flight stages, the screen got horizontally smushed for some reason, among other reasons. It's just baffling, they could have at least made the music sound good since it was the fucking MD/Genesis.
>the screen got horizontally smushed for some reason
Most SNES games ran at 256x224, most Mega Drive games ran at 320x224. The art has to be redrawn to compensate. Sounds like they did it the lazy way. Earthworm Jim has the same issue, but the other way around: the Mega Drive looked right, so the SNES looked stretched.
Why is there never any new scifi kino
Don't want the underlings to get any bright ideas about a hopeful future.
Here, have some more dystopian and post apocalyptic fiction. That's your future.
Sci-fi is too mainstream and has been taken over by Hollywood suits. Sci-fi was at its peak when it had just enough of an audience to justify getting TV shows and movies, but still niche enough that the suits looked down on it as being manchild fantasy shit. The demand for mainstream recognition has only fucked over sci-fi.
I fully agree.
Sci-fi is always at it's best when it's exploring ideas that are provocative and strange. Mainstream audiences don't like to be made to think, so they'll always hate truly interesting sci-fi.
I'll never forgive what they did to Foundation. Not as long as I live
>The demand for mainstream recognition has only fucked over sci-fi.
This applies to pretty much everything niche honestly.
Good sci-fi has to be smart, because it's not about aliens or spaceships or laser swords, it's about ideas. That's why Star Trek and Stargate and Mass Effect talking about their sci-fi worlds and their implications. It's to make the viewer ask (and answer) important questions, not to just show a bunch of shit blowing up like it's a Michael Bay Transformers.
?si=3ZLWiy1LQ-HrF2Ua
Now if they ALSO want to have a bunch of action and shit blowing up and maybe some titties, that's just gravy.
That's a dangerous way to think about it because then you get tranny communists who shove their shitty politics into it under the guise of making people "think" when really they're just trying to make propaganda. Although, that is sort of what star trek is, or was originally.
It's about how you approach it. Modern writers have lost all subtlety and instead of presenting ideas and exploring their ramifications, they outright tell you THIS GOOD THIS BAD. It's so hamfisted that nobody takes it seriously and it actively does the opposite, it pushes people away from exploring those concepts out of spite.
Star Trek was a wagon train to the stars story its creator wanted to cram his views into later before getting moderated by the rest of the staff, with 1st season TNG the closest to an unbridled look at Gene's Roddenberry's vision and also the one that angered the fans the most (at least pre NuTrek) for being pretentious and hamfisted and telling you how to think.
it's too aspirational for the final man. you will stay mired in the dregs of the world
More sci-fi should turn the ship itself into a waifu.
I never watched this far, context?
That's from Andromeda, it's just the ship AI avatar.
>Andromeda
ew
Well that explains why I've never seen it. Thanks anyway.
I do agree with your point about the ships though. At least Mass Effect gave us EDI.
there is this old sci-fi about an astronaut who entered a new dimention or something and for some reason ended with a crew of different alien members, do you know the name?
Farscape
thx
Farscape, with the wife material, that monochromatic bitch, and the nudist blue plant who orgasms with light
Old sci-fi used to be about complex politics, philosophies and themes. Now it's all about arbitrary tribal representations. It's basically devolved.
>perfect IP for a MMO
>the gate excuses all sharding/instancing
>small squads perfectly fit the 5 man dungeon setup
>roles already prepared by the series
>alien races already canon
>manage to utterly fuck it up and get it completely canceled
augh
Also, I've never seen a series continuation drop in quality as steeply as SGU dropped it. I also can't fucking believe they SOMEHOW made it EVEN WORSE with that dogshit Origins series. I've never seen a show so completely and utterly miss the mark regarding the tone and focus of prior entries.
Why the fuck does he have that badge on his forehead? Was it ever explained?
In-universe it's made of molten gold poured into a wound carved into his forehead and marks him as Apophis' First Prime. Of course in real life it was just some badge attached to his forehead with prosthetic glue and they put it on upside-down a few times.
>and they put it on upside-down a few times.
I laughed out loud reading that.
I think it's molten gooold poured onto the head because he's high ranked
That is a Jaffa mark, signifying which Goa'uld a Jaffa serves. The mark Teal'c has signifies he is/was the first prime of Apophis.
>Jaffa
Strange choice of word, considering how it's usually an insult in cultures where the word is a real thing.
Jaffa all have a tattoo on their forehead of their System Lord's insignia, but the highest ranking like Teal'c was, get an insignia of gold, poured molten into a a carved shape. Yes it hurt.
wasn't there an MMO in production at some point that got shitcanned? I know SGU referenced it in the intro
Yes, Stargate Worlds. I followed it for a little while many years back, but updates dried up and then you just never heard of it again.
I hate to suggest this, but a Stargate Extraction Shooter like Tarkov and The Hunt would work well.
For those interested in Stargate.
Here is the recommended viewing order.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b5T6bk5bS9LDaIVXR55-agOd_FYgTN0TZcpZDfvnMg4/pub?output=html
Normally you can watch in order till Atlantis then it becomes like 1 episode of sg1 then atlantis then sg1 etc. But it's important as they have frequent crossovers.
>not skipping episode 3
>skipping episodes
it's okay to skip shit or boring episodes anon - nobody who actually matters is going to look down on you for it
EP3 is the exception, it was written by a feminist schizo and even now it's incredibly awkward to watch. More awkward than even the infamous reproductive organs line.
is ep3 the one with the impending mongol rape of carter?
That's the one
Solitary man.
That is all.
>when you write an episode of Star Trek that gets shit on for being racist, so you copy it for Stargate and make it even more racist, guest-starring Shang Tsung
Isn't the writer a woman? I guess she really wants to be dominated by foreign men.
>it has mongolians in it so it is racist
Just what was his problem.
Too advanced
No fucks left to give.
Really what laws did he break?
He was annoyed with people not appreciating their life.
one of my fav things about stargate is how consistent they kept the stargate for what i watched.
"what if we had a wormhole that basically just worked like a phone" straightforward shit
heres the Stargate "game" you get when the creator has a boatload of passion and soul but 0 talent.
Stargate should have been built on the source engine and look like Counter Strike but with a story.
Rush was the only neat character in sgu.
Also titty lady.
xcom style game. narrative morality choices on how to resolve situations on each planet for different bonuses. fuck steal renegade or paragon. recruit aliens, other worlder humans, different special forces teams. tons of room for expansions/sequels. seems so braindead simple to make hundreds of millions
>fuck steal renegade or paragon
that's an interesting morality x y graph
Vala also voices Morrigan from DA, if anyone didn't know.
Really, SG always had sexiest women on the show.
>Kate Mulgrew voiced her mother
I have never been more turned on while talking to a dragon.
>Claudia Black
She's also Admiral Xen, the Quarian who wants to experiment on the geth in Mass Effect 2 and 3, and an Asari matriarch, I think Liara's dad.
And the spider bitch consort of Azmodan in Diablo III.
What was the name of the animated series?
sex
Fraiser's actress is a rather cheeky one, ain't she?
And Morena is sexo.
Like you wouldn't believe
>Fraiser's actress had huge tits the entire time under the lab coat and I never knew til years later
>pregnant shots
The best part of the holidays when I'm with family and watching the Hallmark channel and Teryl Rothery's big ol' GILF titties show up in every movie.
>when you watch again and realise they use a ton of camera/wardrobe tricks to film around them
they're even better than you think
>Dr Fraiser will never cure your boner
They had one episode when she has to get quarantined along the crew
If you didn't notice then that's on you
Big tittied Tok'ra scientist lady for me PLEASE
Why didn't O'neill hit it when she straight up offered him her body
Her coming from a dumb sex planet was unbelievably desperate and I'm glad they got rid of her
True, but I like the bimbo human personality and the hardcore scientist nerd tok'ra split
For me it's Freya.
Bottom right (Isis? I'm not sure) made me so fucking horny, I think it was 2 episodes where she appeared and took over all the men, just like that.
Hathor
Hathor, had a bath full of snakes. I was more of an Osiris guy myself
The SNES game was surprisingly good and had a great soundtrack.
WHAT
FATE
OMOROCA?
There was a Stargate point and click made with the Adventure Game engine by a fan, it's short and some dialogue is awkwardly phrased because English wasn't their first language but it's a fun diversion for an hour. They were obviously big fans.
Fucking hilarious
10/10 joke
Shit show
>The model who played the infamous role in The Crying Game had no plans of acting in any other roles than that one
>Stargate producers wanted him for Ra in the movie
>Given he didn't want to act any more, he asked for a ridiculous fee of a few million assuming they would turn it down
>They agree to it
>He does the role and goes back to modelling with very full pockets
ironically he looked more like a girl as Ra than he did when he was actually playing a crossdresser
>ironically he looked more like a girl as Ra than he did when he was actually playing a crossdresser
No wonder i got my femboy fetish from that movie
A shame he didnt act more he was fantastic as ra
He was apparently drunk while playing ra, they had to give him the weird goold voice to cover it
Never forget O'Neill was tortured literally to death multiple times, and any vitriol towards Baal was warranted.
Also, them dropping the Goauld voice was gay and stupid.
And Colonel Mitchell had shoes too big to fill, but he did good, and never tried to be O'Neill. He canonically did get the job off autistic dedication, with some luck.
It's Goa'uld.
That said, it's hardly unreasonable. Vocal chords don't normally work that way, it's likely that they do it to intimidate their subjects, as time went on they had to change tactics because one too many System Lords were dying.
And really, with such a charming smile he has no need to intimidate.
oneill had a hard, hard life. lives even.
That episode and Avatar were really comfy.
I know one of his demands was to be more fun, lighthearted than movie O'Neill, but I really did like when they showed his damn near animal cruelty.
When he was hiding on Earth, and maybe after that sure. But I think there's whole episodes he never uses the voice, or even shows an eye flash. Should've had that on a hundred percent the time on any ship.
I don't understand the hate directed toward the original movie. IMO it's a sci-fi classic.
Wait, it's hated?
At least
and
didn't seem to like it. IMO it was much better than the show.
It's not fucking fair, we could have had an Xcom style game with base management and exploration/combat.
For me it was S4 pre bts
Woops forgot the pic
what the hell I don't remember that from atlantis.
She was in Atlantis from season 4 onwards, I think she replaced wier
>That time SG did a self parody episode and railed itself so hard you felt dumb for liking the show.
200 was kino
>Have a "meh" original property (Movie)
>Turn it into an absolute kino property (Series)
I feel like I know more examples of this but I got nothing.
IT'S
A
PLANT
>aliens are real and we're going to nuke 'em from orbit
giggle
Based. Also Scully's dad is Hammond.
Oh shit I forgot about that!
It's that one episode where Skinner is suspected of murder.
Oh also we can't forget the Cigarette Smoking Man as a Prior.
I have zero evidence for this but I'm a boomer and way back in the day I worked on maps for a Stargate HL2 mod for Puny Human (the devs that made Dystopia), but after they noticed literally nobody was playing their first source game they dumped the project.
It was a multiplayer focused game with gameplay similar to Day of Defeat. It likely would have been just okay.
When was this? I feel like plenty of people would play an sg1 mod back in 2007. I remember hl2dm having a few fun Stargate maps
>When was this?
Hard to nail down the exact timeframe when it was so long ago, that time period all kind of blends together, but I wanna say it was not long after Dytopia so 07/08 is a good estimate.
>I feel like plenty of people would play an sg1 mod back in 2007
I 100% agree with you, but I was just a guy making maps. Somebody much higher up the chain of command decided to throw in the towel. I only completed one map and it was a primitive world themed one with a roughly middle ages tech level village near the gate. I was never precious about backing up my work so it's lost to time now.
>the gouald are career backstabbers
>wasting so many resources trying to fuck each other over is probably literally the biggest reason they don't have perfect control of the galaxy
>the gouald also have assassins that run around scot free with weapons that specifically kill gouald
The wraith were way cooler than the gouald in both design and theme
The asgard have always been the worst part of SG
The Asgard were cool, the human replicators were by far the worst part of Stargate though
>the Ancients were kind enough to make the Stargates operate even if you had to rotate the ring by hand
>that was the limit of their benevolence to anyone less advanced than them that might ever conceivably use the gates
Well they deployed DHD paired with every gate for the less advanced civilizations.
It wasn't supposed to be used manually like that, good ol' human ingenuity just made it work anyway.
>It wasn't supposed to be used manually like that
They made it with moving parts big enough and loose enough for anyone who stumbled over one to start spinning the main dialing mechanism. It was never meant to be used that way regularly but they wouldn't have built it like that if they didn't intend it to be simple to operate in an emergency.
I don't know anon, it seems to me that this was the only way they knew how to do it. Once they knew how to make it solid-state, they did, as evidenced by Pegasus gate network.
For instance the Destiny gates were never supposed to be operated by anyone else and don't even have a separate DHD, yet they still physically rotate to dial.
The Stargate network has an auto-patching system that has corrected for stellar drift over thousands of years, as well as safeguards to route wormholes around stellar bodies. Hundreds of these things, all across the galaxy, keeping themselves functional long after anyone who knows or cares enough to keep it working has gone.
Nobody THAT advanced would be incapable of making a device that keeps its moving parts on the inside, or locking those parts when there's barely enough power to open a wormhole, or simply not working at all if the buttons are taken off.
So I never got around to Stargate, where does it rank on the sci-fi TV series pantheon? Better than Trek? Firefly? Babylon 5? Farscape? Red Dwarf?
It's a much more light hearted series and more a military action show with sci for elements. I think where it ranks depends on how serious you prefer your sci for shows
Probably right under Star Trek. Maybe also under Firefly if you're a big lolbert or space western autiste.
It's pretty high up for sure. SG-1 has a rocky start which is rather the norm. Somewhere between ST and Farscape in tone and personally I enjoy them about equally. Atlantis is pretty faithful to SG-1 in all metrics.
I know some Stellaris mods for it
Would need to be exapanded hard though
I can't believe this actually destroyed the gate.
the ships reactor probably went up
>Its a carter love interest episode
Luckily they all die
Baal was the best villain Stargate had
Anubis and the Ori are fucking homosexuals
Baal was a frenemy, Anubis was a villain, but he was more menacing when he was still a shadowy figure we hadn't seen yet. The idea of a Goa'uld doing away with the theatrics and acting covertly was downright threatening since the whole god act was played up to be their weakness up to then.
Baal ended up turning a bit like that later on, plus sass.
