I was curious so I looked up the tracks again, this shit genuinely sounds uncanny. How come do you actually like this? The instruments just sound.... off...
Tsukihime isn't even 50 hours long.
I would say it gets very interesting to the point you are hooked on like, day 3, then as you go through the other routes your interest starts multiplying and its like the game has fucking caught you out from the water, you're literally thirsty to see what will happen next.
>how? why shouldn't i just read a book? i doubt it's as good as the first Red Rising trilogy.
At least for fiction, there's so many shitty fucking books that aren't worth my time. I don't even read VNs, I thought they were gay. But reading this one, it didn't trigger me, like >"here's 20 pages of backstory on some shit you don't care about" (Faded Sun/Silent Patient/that one crusader book <made by a woman>) >"my dad beat the shit out of me for three pages" (Silent Patient) >"I'm an autistic retard teehee" (The maid book)
And on and on. At least this VN started with some imagery, action, and does a good job of giving some exposition. Instead of 10 pages of "My father was XYZ, caste leader of the A clan, with uncle JK" no we get a simple summary once we're invested, because that's all we need.
But I admit I have weird taste. I like classics from poetry to novels (hell let's go to Don Quixoate. It's been years since I read it, but if I remembered correctly, it didn't start with 30 pages of him explaining why he's putting on the armor!), and that one Star Wars book that again, opened with action. 1632 (I believe, books about a guy who went back in time and founded America in Europe) at least had politicking and intrigue to get the plot running. That's all I want, plot.
For non fiction however I'll read anything, I like learning.
That is something that Tsukihime does that is pretty nice now that you point it out.
There actually is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, it's always there, and hinted at in places if you know what you're looking for. It signposts itself like a mystery, but solving the mystery isn't really the goal, if that makes sense. It'll go into exposition dumps, but only when it needs to. It wisely doesn't start with "we need to talk about VAMPIRES" before breaking out the whiteboard.
You say that but this Norway bitch got me in the hotel 11th floor right now and she been talking for 24 minutes straight.

It had to happen eventually. At least they get it out of the way all at once.
They let you get invested first, have a mental break down, and cut the girl into seventeen pieces before putting you through vampires 101
>why shouldn't i just read a book? i doubt it's as good as the first Red Rising trilogy.
What kind of question is this?
Do you really need a certain format to read something you find interesting or do you just read for the sake of reading alone?
Saber is associated with summer (youth, vigor, sunny stuff). Saber and Shirou fought as a team in the ending of Fate. Servant vs Servant, Master vs Master as any actual battle in a Grail War should be fought for. Both fought their foils and beat their respective nemesis. But they briefly crossed paths, and learned a great deal from each other in their short time together, then went their separate ways and moved on. Saber got peace, and Shirou had his whole life to look forward to.
Rin is associated with autumn (wisdom, maturity, transitions), while nothing is fully resolved for Shirou, he's now more aware of himself and also older (finished a school year) waiting for the future. Shirou pitting his ideals against Archer and learning from the experience so that he doesn't end up like the latter. The classroom is bathed on red hues of afternoon (kind of fall-color scheme). Rin and Shirou both essentially struggling with the legacy of their fathers. Shirou struggles with Kiritsugu's ideal and Rin's struggles are about Tokiomi and how he left her the family legacy to tend to. And both resolve their struggles by realizing that the reason they latched onto their fathers' legacies in the first place was because it made them happy. Rin found magic fun and Shirou envied Kiritsugu's happiness when he saved him.
Ilya is associated with winter (death, snow, cold, etc), and winter symbolizes 'rest', as well as life's passing. Irisviel and Illyasviel and Justeaze are homunculi created by the Einzberns to fulfill their wish and achieve the third true magic. Justeaze was sacrificed to become the core of the Greater Grail, and Irisviel and Illyasviel were created based on Justeaze and can be thought of as successor models of Justeaze to be sacrificed as the Lesser Grail.
Sakura is associated with spring (renewal, rebirths, healing, flowers). Should be obvious, Shirou died and rebirth in this route.
Okay, but how long is this going to take if I try to read the original text? I barely passed N2 last year. And I didn't realize this was 屋敷 until I tried to look it up (though I've heard the word before, obviously). Fuck it. I'm going for it and will manually add every word I don't know and every sentence that makes no sense.
Can we just ignore original taukihime alredy like we do with the anime?
The remake just fixed every major problem the first 2 routes had making them not garbage
Thematically, they are very similar. Lots of people consider them to be the same universe, but I'm fairly sure Word of God says they're different at some point.
Personally I take the approach that ZUN takes for the PC-98 Touhou games and apply it to Tsukihime/Fate.
Tsukihime and Fate are the same and in the same universe, unless something comes later that directly contradicts the former.
>sex scenes censored by default
>second worst ost by default
Soulless.
>second worst ost by default
W-What's the best OST
I already know the answer I'm just making sure.
The original, obviously.
(given you replace the ending theme but there is also no option to do that with the web version!)
>The original, obviously
Wrong. It's bako.
I was curious so I looked up the tracks again, this shit genuinely sounds uncanny. How come do you actually like this? The instruments just sound.... off...
Because I played Fate first.
The instruments are a bit warmer. Original sounds tinny.
Your headphones are shit
vs
Bakoh has better dynamics and the instrumentation is warmer in tone, fitting the melancholy.
Again your headphones are shit
Son it's fucking MIDI
for me it's BAKKY
I bet the online version for FSN is the same, but I haven't touched that thing in forever.
>It gets good after 100 hours
What is wrong with Western RPG tards?
The H scenes are not censored, I know this as I read them at work on the web browser.
How do I seduce funny cat lady?
It's TSOO-KEY-HE-MAY
based Battle Moon WarsCHAD
Not only is it okay, it's a moral oniichan obligation!
It's fine to have sex with your sister of you don't see her for 8 years, right?
>it gets good after 50 hours
what is mentally wrong with weebs?
>life only gets good after 50 years
Same principle. Woe to the man who rushes.
Tsukihime isn't even 50 hours long.

>hooked
>no voice acting
how? why shouldn't i just read a book? i doubt it's as good as the first Red Rising trilogy.

Nasu's VNs are some of the few that don't fucking waste your time

Is Tsukihime the same shit as Fate? I'm confizzled
>Is Tsukihime the same shit as Fate?
Same studio. Tsukihime was their breakout work, Fate came after. Both share a few lore concepts here and there.
Used to be yes, but keeps getting retconned so kinda sorta maybe
Thematically, they are very similar. Lots of people consider them to be the same universe, but I'm fairly sure Word of God says they're different at some point.
