You have genre defining games like Hollow Knight that everyone loves selling for less than 20 bucks and the flood of excellent other indie metroidvanias every year for a decade.
Next to it Metroid just does not look worth the money and almost completely riding on brand recognition from Nintendo.

The point of this is so they don’t have to package individual combinations of the platform specific disks with the boxes. If one platform outsells another, then they have unused stock of the fancy toys. Its not marketed correctly, but its a sound idea. Its a collector’s package, and you pick your platform seperately.
