Alice in Border takes some 4D chest thinking where you need to figure out the circumference of the entire building while standing in one room inside of it. Alice had better characters but no one watching it can imagine surviving a single one of those games. When watching Squid Game people can imagine surviving each of those game.

That first fire room puzzle was absurd, how did they expect the average nip to survive that shit of they weren’t autismo geniuses?

It would have made more sense if that was one of the few missing cards from the Beach’s collection instead of the 7 of hearts. The heart’s tag game always has that winner, no way anyone ever wins the fire room. The life/death room was only a 3 or 4 difficulty as well. No way anyone passes that unless it is a 12 man team and most people sacrifices themselves.
Pretty sure that game wasn’t in the manga and was made up for the live action show so maybe that is why it was so off the wall. Or maybe the manga is worst who knows. Season 2 is going to be even worst I feel.

It’s a solid ok, the only interesting part of the show was with the undercover cop (fuck me if you think I can remember any of these retarded fucking names, what’s wrong with Korea?), it was interesting to see the things going on backstage, something a lot of show like this don’t focus on.
however, just like every thing korean I’ve ever watched, it can’t stick the landing. Terrible twist, terrible motives.
I know I shouldn’t compare to kaiji, but kaiji had interesting games to make you think about how to win and then have Kaiji (hopefully) find some way to win you didn’t expect. This is just 9 episodes of brave man’s road, with less emotional highs and all the social commentary 10 minutes at the end. There’s no interesting way to win any game as they’re all basic children’s game. Tug of war was the only interesting game as it was the only one where they had to use a real strategy.
Show also falls in the pitfall of death game media where every game is "if you lose, you die" meaning protag cannot ever lose ever so there’s no tension. Bringing Kaiji up again, Kaiji loses a few times in the show, even if there is no real consequences for it, it brings the tension up.-
