That’s becoming the standard for low skill jobs. They have such a high turn over and nobody has given a fuck about labor rights so they just rinse through employees like crazy.

You’re severely detached from reality if you actually think that’s true. Part of the reason they can treat their employees so badly is everyone wants such a brainless job where you get to see sunlight.

once you get the zappo, it’s gg.

eventually as a plumber you just make the apprentice do all the gross shit anyway while you sit in the van eating donuts and processing the accounts on your laptop.

I’m thinking about applying for an apprenticeship, tired of living an unskilled life. How is it bros, will it really kick my ass that bad? I’ve been slaving in a kitchen most of my work career, but the pay is shit and I need out.

I’ve done food delivery on foot for a month where I live, big city. I worked 3 days a week for 6 hours, and made around 300$ total which is roughly 20 a shift (had a couple of good ones over 30$).
The job is honestly mindless. Once you figure out the route it’s just walking. Interactions with people are kept very short, so that’s nice. Sometimes a restaurant or a fast food joint takes too long to pack your order up and you have to hurry because the more you deliver the more you get paid. I once spilled coke all over my McDonald’s order once and they were nice enough to repackage it without any questions. I also hit my big toe pretty bad while working and then some at home, so a month later my big toe nail came off and there was a little tiny new toe nail growing. It was a nice job.

There are always tradeoffs. Private courier services are the closest analogue but you’ll be delivering to rich fucks typically and there will always be harsh deadlines and lots of travel.
More feasible would be long haul trucking, I think.

They still haven’t solved inclement weather navigation, and have a long way to go on what’s already there. It’ll be piecemeal – certain highways in certain regions. And that assumes politicians don’t get in the way, when the will. China might do it first.

New Zealand, working for the Department of Conservation.

They pay ppl to hike to remote huts occasionally to do repair work, maintain the trails etc.
Some of the huts take ~10 days just to reach on foot and some of the most remote ones only get a couple of visitors a year.

NZ also has hundreds of random islands in the tropics and antarctic which are scientists-only and left alone for research purposes. Again, if you work for DoC there’s a good chance you can get sent to say, somewhere like Campbell Island, camp for a month and count bird populations.

Wilderness ranger no doubt. Just chill hiking around innawoods all day, getting on to kids, looking out for bears, helping out stuck/lost hikers, checking on plants n shit. A lot of parks cover areas that don’t have road access which means a lot of traveling by foot.

I’ve always wished I could do it but apparently it’s pretty competitive because it’s such a kino job. As long as you don’t get stuck with poo duty that is.

Reminder that it’s not the company’s fault that they have to overwork their staff, it’s the quality of workers going down that caused the mess in the first place. Half of the United States is clinically retarded. Thank god I have a comfy engineering job now and don’t have to work with literal mouth breathers like most of this thread.
