N1 did good work with sprites, which is why a lot of people were upset the series went to using 3D models in 6.

I think the models are pretty good in D6, it’s just the gameplay was my main issue with it.

I think they are cute too but it can be hard to justify them when it was likely the reason half the humanoids were cut from the game. Maybe they will all be back in 7 since those models should be their way of futureproofing the series, along with fixing up the issues 6 had, like the stupid stat bloat.

Stat bloat, juice bar being too useless yet necessary for D-Merits, D-Merits in general, karma system fucks up reincarnation to be even less interesting, monsters are functionally identical to human units now… A lot of problems I had with 6 gameplay-wise. Melodia was hot at least.

I don’t see how you can get the max kill one without just letting the game play itself for hours at a time. I played the game solo with Magic Knight and even in the post game rakasha mode with a full set of rank 40 gear she wasn’t even close.-
Speaking of letting the game play itself, I don’t hate auto-battle. I hate how the game seemed designed for auto-battle, though. Like, it felt like they wanted to make a game that appealed to the mobile audience that liked Disgaea RPG or something, but… Yeah. So many issues with it. Not a BAD game, but definitely the first Disgaea that’s a step back from the previous one.

This is what made me drop it in the end. It was either let he game grind for me while I do something else or do it manually, which was way more tedious then it needed to be, mostly thanks to the game wanting you to use auto battle. We hit a hard wall where she needed to either grind out countless reincarnations for the 5 million kama a single stat point or max out the d-merits for the extract evility and grind it out that way, neither of which is fun to do with how damn much of it is needed.

I just finished this game.
Holy shit what a ride. Definitely the best game in the Tales of series in my opinion.
That said, though I liked the game a lot, there’s a lot of things I hated in it as well.
I will be creating a thread about it, so I hope you guys will be giving your opinions-
It was enjoyable. It does have several small issues that add up and a couple moderate ones but it does more things right than wrong and is solid overall
