The time skip ruined Ace Attorney. So many things wrong resulted from it, including it basically tossing away any possibility of Maya and Nick getting together properly. If it didn’t work out in those seven years, why would it work out now?

AA Investigations duology (especially AAI2) is fun and a bit different from the AA trilogy
TGAA Chronicles is very different from the usual AA but the overarching story is great.

I can understand feeling that way, but some people try to present that, their personal feelings, as proof that a romantic relationship between Phoenix and Maya would be unhealthy and creepy. I’ve long since come to realise that almost everyone who does that are rabid Wrightworth shippers, lashing out at everyone who supports a ship other than theirs. It doesn’t help that they’re total hypocrites who also proudly proclaim that one of their favourite ships is Athena x Blackquill.
