If you could only buy 1 switch game this year, what would it be?

I guess Fire Emblem. My Switch games are just BoTW, Mario Odyssey, 3D World port, and Arms. I got more mileage out of my Wii U lol

I think the key difference is virtual console. The Wii U had a handful of good games and that was it. But I sunk hundreds of hours into N64, GBA, DS, and Wii games. Now Nintendo is just actively telling their consumers to go fuck themselves. At least in the Wii U era they did all they could into making the console worthwhile.

I’ll never understand why people think the wii u was a good system and this is coming from someone who fell for it as well.
Even the VC games were abysmal compared to the wii and 3ds libraries and were mostly padded out with capcom titles. -

Actually good Zelda remasters that complemented the 3ds ones, the virtual console expansion, and an actual good new IP (Splatoon). The Wii U was still miles ahead of shit like the Xbox One at the time. It still doesn’t compare to the effort put into stuff like the Wii but the Wii U vs Switch levels of care is night and day

they marketed the fuck out of it while it was floundering but id argue the wii u feels way sturdier and was better built compared to now where they completely phoned in quality the games were pretty solid few duds..but the output was abysmal and nintendos fucked themselves with the fundamental design of the console

The fuck they did, the wii u itself barely had any marketing during its life. Hell the largest marketing campaign was for Splatoon not even the system itself.
But we’re talking about effort, pumping out ads is all well and good but if they’re all low effort trash then no one is going to want the product which is exactly what happened.

I would say Dread but it seems like it’s just too short, so maybe the new Mario Party if there’s planned updates/DLC.
The only other new Switch games that I bought this year were 3D World and New Pokemon Snap. It’s been a pretty underwhelming year. -
