It’s an interesting and quirky first person shooter. It is not an RPG. Using a tabletop RPG licence doesn’t make it an RPG.

Yes it is dumbo, what the fuck are you even talking about. It’s entirely stat-based and incorrectly leveling your character can create a literal progress roadblock in the second part of the game. Every build plays different, and the game locks out content and punishes you for trying to be a jack of all trades, which is why it has one of the most renown replayability factors in the genre>first person shooter

Wrong, an RPG is a game where the world and its inhabitants work through a pure layer of mathematical abstraction with no means for the player to avoid interacting with the world through said pure numerical abstraction, it might be hard for your primate brain to process but that’s what RPGs fundamentally are, and that’s why things like Deus Ex, The Witcher, Souls games, Diablo and what have you will never be RPGs because the player’s mechanical inputs don’t work in concert with everything else, but rather against it.
"Choice and consequence" in non-PC progression terms, while welcome, is ultimately irrelevant if the game doesn’t work as an actual role-playing game, giving the player a means to ignore numerical abstraction means the game cannot be a roleplaying game because the PC is no longer playing on an even field with the rest of the numerical abstraction in the game, you can no longer have an actual roleplaying game, what you have is something entirely different with the trappings of both RPGs and other genres, the worst of both worlds.
Play true RPGs like Angband and Unlimited SaGa instead-

my first run I played a smooth talking toreador and finished the game without even knowing celerity existed. You’ll be surprised to know I only cheated once, and it was in the fight with the tzimisce where you finally kill him. I still don’t know how the fuck I managed that.
