I’ll start: A resident evil style horror game that takes place in a tower. The story is that in the near future, some fictional city was abandoned, walled off and had a huge metallic dome placed over it, with the exception of one tower piercing the dome the city is completely closed off. The reason for this was an unknown source of deadly radiation stemming from the city itself, the dome reflects this and keeps it inside.
The main character is a journalist trying to figure out what exactly happened in the city to doom it, believing there was something darker to it. He enters the city but can’t leave, with the only way out being the very top of that skyscraper, which itself is not just tall but incredibly wide (like 10 blocks). The tower was built to serve as its own city with restaurants, homes, parks and even aquariums. Protag enters the tower from the bottom floor and must reach the top.Inside the tower there are many types of mutants, as itself seems to be the place where the radiation is its strongest. These mutants are descendents of the people and animals that lived in the city and have undergone rapid evolution due to the radiation, completely adapting to the derelict towers environments. They basically form an ecosystem completely alien ti earth.
One enemy idea i liked was a cephalopod like creature that originally came from the aquarium, taking the shape of a humanoid to trick the player and stealing supplies from his safe rooms and inventorys. The creature itself is completely black and its "back" is completely covered by suction cups, the player might be going through one of their safe rooms and hears the door creak but finds nothing. Just to look to their side and see the humanoid figure glued to the wall

I just want a modern single player LotR RPG, not an MMO, that lets me go on adventures across the land as a Human or Hobbit in a time after the War of the Ring. Experience a small story, in a setting I love, tricking trolls, running from goblins, picking up a treasure in a long forgotten cave, resting at a camp fire by a creek, cooking a good meal of eggs, coffee and sausage that I bought at a nearby town, undressing and splashing around in a creek after a hard day of adventuring, and then going to sleep. On my adventure I encounter another soul, and choose to help them with their troubles, and we discuss where we’ve been and what we’ve done as the days move on. In time my new friend’s troubles are dealt with, and they decide to come along, a fellowship of two, that may grow just a little more. An AI companion that I don’t order around in battle, but who has many dialogues for each place in the world we might go. Fewer potential companions than a Bioware style RPG, so that each one is far more fleshed out. The journey is half the game, in lonely forgotten lands with good company and danger breaking up the far flung adventure.

>game starts with a small, nuclear detonation of a now-lost Bikini Bottom suburb (which becomes the industrial park) by the Atomic Flounder orchestrated by Man Ray
>Sinister Slug is a Riddler Expy, and MM and BB need to follow his slime trail of clues
>Jumbo Shrimp breaks MM’s back mid-game and is imprisoned in Man Ray’s lair. You will play as BB for a while, gathering help from the International Justice League of Super Acquaintances
>BB, with the help of Miss Appear defeat Jumbo Shrimp, and with help from The Elastic Waistband, help overcome his injury and regain his resolve
>Final arc is MM vs Man Ray, with the latter revealing that the villains have created a superweapon that will fulfill their goal of subjugating Bikini Bottom and ruling as overlords
>super weapon is the Dirty Bubble, but it develops sentience and betrays Man Ray
>Final battle between MM and Dirty Bubble, culminating in DB’s first death
>credits roll and stinger reveals that Man Ray escaped and is out to reform his villain team

A top down shooter whose primary mechanic is the ability to "program" automatic actions, and these actions are performed at a faster speed than manual actions. You have the ability to scan for a period of time, and this isolates all events that happen in that time that are usable as "triggers". Triggers can then be tied to your various abilities to make them be used automatically. Triggers include:
-Certain enemies entering certain distances from you.
-Reaching health thresholds.
-Picking up items.
-Using other abilities.
-Using certain weapons.
-Much, much more.

An arena shooter that’s set entirely on a patch of open ocean, the only obstacles and level geometry are the absolutely unearthly-gargantuan waves that roll around. You control a rocket-propelled jet-skiier and you go around above or below the waves fighting. Archeologist RPG. An adventure/exploration game where you are meant to read books and talk to people as a way of discovering the possibility of the existence of some long-lost powerful weapon, armor, or magic spell.
Also, talking to people and reading books is a way to inform the player where there might be other people and other books who know a bit more information, and traveling there and doing that reveals a bit more information, and so on, until ultimately the location of the secret, long-lost, or hidden treasure is discovered.
Sometimes, talking to people and reading books can reveal the existence of a power blacksmith or mage or swordsman who might be able to craft unique armor or train a unique magic or teach a unique move.
Indiana Jones concept as a way of creating a progression dynamic in a game, where only common stuff will be discovered accidentally but better gear is discovered only through research, detective work, and adventure. The opposite of hand-holding.

A WWII shooter where the Americans are drawn western style and Japanese are all rendered in anime style.
A Mahou Shoujo battle arena or battle royale. You can customize your character with different equipment and spells, from different interpretations of magic from different culture(pointy hat witches, japanese papercraft magic, mikos, card-captor style mahou shoujo, voodoo dolls, etc).
A modern FPS where all operators are cute anime girls. When they get shot or killed their bodies will explode into gory bits and their screams will fill the entire area, nearby allies will lose sanity from watching their friends get blown to bits.
A race-based fantasy MMO except all the races are from monster girl settings. Think Lamias, Harpies, Slimes, etc. Not porn.

I rescind my previous "based". have a nice day, degenerate.
I’m not into gore or ryouna or any of those things but I really like anime shows/games where cute girls are pictured in worlds that are full of suffering. War is an unexplored territory of that.
It could be surprisingly good from a game mechanics point of view. For example, you could use efficient weapons that are very good for killing your target, or flashy moves that aren’t as effective but will cause strong psychological damage to the entire enemy team.

A game where you play as a detective whose only weapon is a hipfired 50cal machinegun. You’re meant to solve crimes peacefully and try to avoid using your 50cal as much as possible against crooks, but if you use it things start getting more and more crazily violent like an late 90s arcade shooter. Third person, the gun is realistically simulated in terms of recoil and power. Aiming is done like in Goldeneye 007 on the N64 (hold button to stop moving and aim with a free crosshair).
There’s a whole police procedural manual that you have to follow and you get docked points for not going by the book, but the crazier things get the more ‘loose cannon but gets results’ points you get.

It’s just the exact gameplay of Transformers Devastation except the structure of the game is Dead Cells. Run-once randomly-generated branching playthroughs with shuffled-up weapons and abilities, but all of the combat mechanics are Transformers Devastation exactly. Use the somewhat-limited selection of enemies and environments in a way that doesn’t bore the player and dump 90% of the effort into tuning the combat and movement and slapping together more weapon variants.

it’s not an exploration game, but there’s an indie game by ACE Team (the zeno clash/rock of ages devs) called The Deadly Tower of Monsters that deliberately evokes the cheesy b-movie aesthetic. I don’t remember anything about it so it’s not great, but it’s out there.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30892AnonymousGuest
A game where you play as a xeno-archaeologist following the footsteps of ancient elder beings while taking care not to get killed by alien wildlife and/or rival archaeologists. Basically Indiana Jones in space.
The only times this has been done are just as additional stuff in games, for instance it’s sort of a plot point in the Halo games, and there are a few gameplay mechanics in games like Alpha Centauri or Civilization Beyond Earth. Never a game on its own though, and I feel it has a lot of potential.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30897AnonymousGuest
Oh and I guess Indiana Jones-like games in general. And don’t come at me with shit like Tomb Raider or Uncharted since those are basically "shoot people and occasionally solve a puzzle: there also is a bit of fun historical/myth stuff in the background I guess". I want some actually interesting lore and shit that you feel like you’re only scratching the surface of as you explore, with the shooting relatively being little more than an after-thought.

I’ve pitched this before but I’ll pitch it again: it’s a competitive multiplayer game (shooter seems easiest but you could do it in other genres) where you play as a group of young kids play-fighting in their house and yard.
Depending on the character “class” you choose (i.e. which kid) the features of the map are re-skinned to look like their imagination; maybe one kid sees a WWII battlefield, another kid sees the old west, a third one sees a magical gumdrop princess kingdom, etc. Same map geometry and game rules, just a different aesthetic.
When the kids “die”, the map turns back to the real world and they have to run back to their “respawn point” to come back into the imagined world and continue playing.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30907AnonymousGuest
Don’t forget that one kid who literally sees it as play-fighting and it’s just the normal playground/wherever they are.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30913AnonymousGuest
Eh, I get the joke but I think that detracts from the magic.
Maybe you put one of the parents as a secret unlockable character for that. They’re bigger and faster than the kids but they don’t have any special powers due to a lack of imagination.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30905AnonymousGuest

Procedurally generated RTS
A persistent campaign with the entire planet – continents, borders, cities, etc – mapped out. Several major factions and countless smaller factions fighting every which way in an all out chaotic war.
You’re a small squad of a few mercs operating out the back of a truck, you can expand to the size of a battalion and upgrade your base to something like an aircraft carrier or a fortress somewhere.
Gameplay somewhere between Kenshi, Ground Control 1 and Company of Heroes, setting equivalent to a fictional modern/near-future Earth. Do whatever, ally with any faction, be an independent PMC selling to the highest bidders, just sow chaos as terrorists, remain a small elite squad of local heroes, get down to the bottom of whatever it was that sparked the conflict.

Look up Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare
It’s not exactly the same description but it’s close.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #30938AnonymousGuest
Already got it. It’s too much of a Mount&Blade clone, and completely static at that.
Thing is, it scratches another itch I’ve been wanting, the rare RTS+FPS which only a few games do (like Call to Arms) and almost none of them do well. Freeman actually has not bad shooting, but its strategy side is very lacking. Hopefully it actually expands and improves in the future.
Regardless, it doesn’t really check the boxes I’m really looking for. I want to see a game with RTS focused gameplay where it isn’t a bunch of isolated missions/maps; instead I want it to just keep going all the time on a scale far beyond the boundaries of a cordoned-off combat map and stays in "RTS mode" the entire time.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #31037AnonymousGuest

Shit man, you’re like the only other person on Ganker I’ve seen that also wants this type of RTS.
RTS is really held back by its mission structure, and individual map design. I’d love to see a seamless, large-scale RTS across vast distances
6 months, 3 weeks ago #31042AnonymousGuest
Isn’t the problem how someone gaining traction and plowing through the first encounter has basically already won and is now simply dragging a 40 min game into god knows how many hours? Starcraft games end after both players clashing with a majority of their forces and one of them came out on top. They could go on but it’s 95% settled then and there.

I’m thinking singleplayer only, long comfy campaign with intelligent AI
6 months, 3 weeks ago #31052AnonymousGuest
I think the trouble with that way is how exploitative it would be for a player and the lack of diverse setups possible. It will just be a big ass steamroll ever growing bigger or playing at the limit constantly.
RTS campaigns usually sets some limits and arbitrary boundaries to shake things up. Building up a huge army and just keeping it seems like it severely limits how you can be challenged other than giving the AI bigger and bigger armies as well. I think Homeworld did something like this except it was the usual mission type maps. I’m sure it can be done but it’s an unused concept as you say.
6 months, 3 weeks ago #31059AnonymousGuest
Basically Homeworld Deserts of Kharak but not limited to individual maps and missions, an entire continent, and you have to balance between scouting out the enemy, gathering resources, and building up secondary defense units to attack the enemy crawler once located.
Mix of comfy long range scouting, resource scouting and gathering, and attacking enemy resource gatherers/scouts before finding their crawler to attack it too Something long and slower paced, not fit for today’s ADHD type RTS gameplay where APM and rushing is all that matters, it would be as dynamic and random as possible, the least tourney-fag RTS ever made.
It’s what Deserts of Kharak should have been, instead they stuck with the cliche, traditional limited map and mission based structure, nothing innovative, only derivative.

An actually satisfying sandbox girlfriend simulator with a good deal of interactiveness, customization, and emergent gameplay that makes the girl feel alive and dynamic, i.e. not just a porn game or visual novel “game” or dating simulation with the same rehashed phrases and stupid repetitive mechanics and barely any interaction. I feel like there should be a huge market for this, but it seems like nobody has really bothered.
Alternatively and much less ambitiously but also somehow non-existent, an adventure game where a cute girl follows you around on your travels and is very expressive in having her own interactions with the environment rather than just following you around and doing whatever you command her to do, and in reacting to the things you do or the situations and environments you are in. I guess like the companion system in the Fallout games, but designed with the relationship between the player and companion as a major focus.

Civ is close, but I want something where I can leave the planet and gradually tech up to even colonize other systems. A grand strategy that progresses into age after age would probably work best with what I’m thinking about. But I’d also like a game where you play as characters from an ongoing lineage and progress through the ages playing different characters in that family.

A multiplayer FPS game that copies the look of old 3D fps games, down to the low poly low res look, but the world its set in is enormous. As big as possible without bricking people’s PCs, to which the low fidelity will help in rendering. Ideally as big as the actual Earth. It’s less about fighting each other and more about exploring a gigantic world with mysterious lore. Gigantic buildings with multiple rooms, huge expanses of otherworldly mountains and valleys and ruins.
Everyone spawns in a different spot, and you could go hours without seeing another player. You can fight them or you can explore together. There’s hostile NPC monsters and shit too. I haven’t quite figured out the gameplay loop yet, but I like the idea of a gigantic world you could get lost in with the movement and speed of an old FPS game. You can communicate with other players via text, but only if they are close enough to you. If you die you go to a personal respawn point you can set via expending some resource.

You have to find out more about them and go out with them doing various activities until you get laid. You can also do various things in the world like camping or going to the library to build your character, you might even find someone doing that stuff you can go out with.

A recreation of Spore, using it’s creature creator system but making it (and the whole game) much more intricate and detailed, designed as an actual simulation of species growing and not a kids game. Put more time in expanding Cell stage through Creature stage, implement the cut Aquatic stage, possibly split off the Tribal, Civ and Space stages into expansions/sequel games with importable creatures so as to not try and cram 5 different games in one.

>Competitive ARPG where one player plays a paladin assaulting a den of evil, and the other player takes on the role of a lich defending his home from the invading paladin
>Lich starts the game in a kind of pseudo-RTS setting ala Dungeon Keeper, and can set up traps and summon minions to defend the lair, and can nominate an item in the lair as their phylactery. All of this costs magic power.
>Paladin starts the game in first person and is first tasked with defeating guardians before he can begin to break through the doors
>The time it takes for the paladin to kill the guardians and break the doors is the time the lich has to set up
>Once the paladin is through the doors, his sole mission is to kill everything inside and ultimately to kill the lich
>The lich can now directly control his minions by expending magical power and can cast powerful debuffs to hinder the paladin
>If the paladin succeeds in fighting his way to the lich’s chambers, the final confrontation will ensue, in which the lich is also given a first person view of the action and the two players duke it out
>If a phylactery was created by the lich and went undestroyed by the paladin, the lich can die once and resurrect with an amount of health directly proportional to the amount of magic power that was used to create the phylactery
>Regardless of the outcome of a match, both players are rewarded with loot in the form of spells, weapons and armor, minions and traps, voice lines and cosmetic rewards etc.

>Eccentric houses with medieval towers
>Underground bunkers made by people fearing the apocalypse
>Large ragged wood house where bullets penetrate the entire thing, lots of civs to rescue
>Hoarder house full with random shit acting as hiding places for suspects
>Incest home where one guy is the perp but everyone looks like him
>Destructible walls by explosive means or a shitload of bullets
>Toys looking like guns wielded by kids hiding in dark places
>Make custom appearance NPCs in the editor to save/kill/arrest
>Neighbors and shit walk in at odd times during the assault
>NPC’s do what they normally do until you make your appearance with the SWAT team, so a house can suddenly catch fire and you might catch perp sitting on the john or playing video games (like in the Sims)
>Snipers overview the entire neighborhood for suspicious activity and report confused civilians coming near the house to visit their neighbour
Endless fun and possibilities!

Taverns as natural waystations and meeting spots for adventuring and so forth, and being able to ride up to one, hand off coin to the stableboy for the horse, and walk through the mud and rain and drink an ale sitting in the corner observing the crowd – all unscripted and emergent.

>Each boss you defeat is not killed, but rather corrupted to join the dark side
>The bosses congregate in the hub world after you turn them, the whole place slowly turning to craggy rock and fire as the game goes on, bosses become supporting NPCs who provide shops or smithing or quests

Multiple characters from different video game worlds are summoned at once by a multidimensional hivemind who’s tasked with protecting the multiverse from catastrophe. Their very own existence is under threat and they must team up and head to the core of the multiverse, Earth, in order to save it from destruction. Enter:
>Captain G-Urricane, long time champion of futuristic grand-prixes across the galaxy, clad in blue
>Alice Arafell, protagonist of a western ecchi puzzle game that became popular among PC gamers in the past few years.
>Hoshiino Ougon, pop diva of the Para Para Parfait Parade series, a rhythmn spin-off of a long ongoing series of RPGs which ended up overshadowing the main series. Her songs became widely popular across the world and are a staple of anime culture.
>Bill Seeker, gritty battle-trained protagonist from the cult classic FPS game Brutalizator. After decades of cryostasis in the atmosphere, he divebombed (naked) towards Earth only to find himself in an alternate Earth where Russia won the arms race. His rightful killing intent did the talking as he rampaged his way to his country and his family.
>Nano-Nanico the Mico, a forgotten gem from the animal mascot craze, is fondly remembered and highly adored in South America’s indie scene, despite being a highly primitive 3D platformer. By transforming fruits into various shapes, this little monkey fella is capable of growing massively or shrinking drastically.

>%roguenot%, the obscure main character from the even more obscure roguelike Balfor’s Domain. He doesn’t actually appear in the game, being only in the banner for the game documentation page on the official site.
>Agents Black and White, from the 90s beat ’em up, Black & White. In the futuristic utopia of 2007 where aliens freely come to our planet for business and tourism alike, a drug is being slowly spread amongst the masses that manipulates the DNA of cosmic beings, transforming them into gigantic creatures hellbent on mass destruction and it’s up to the Agents to investigate this conspiracy. They also serve as a co-op mode for this game.
An unknown force is slowly consuming Earth with dimensional powers of its own, and the only way for those heroes to overcome it is to alter reality in a way the hivemind can shape back into safety. The playable character can be changed on the fly, which results in the gameplay shifting adequately to suit them, same goes to the level’s objective and the such, sometimes requiring a specific character to be used in order to progress. Once the player switches between characters, their gameplay styles will slowly begin to fuse together, such as Bill being forced to time his shots in tune with the music or G-Urricane having to use Speed Racer-like apparatuses as his style shifts from pure racing to a more platformer based one. With enough input from the player, the genres can fuse together incomprehensibly to a point where the characters must actually help each other because the genre shift is too much. Hoshiino ends up in a live concert on top of G-Urricane’s ship at high speed, Bill Seeker gets harassed by sluts as he solves precision based block puzzles to survive mazes and hit enemies and so on.

A Miyazaki directed Soulsborne that takes place in the distant future. My pitch would be, the main character is the sole survivor on a small transport ship that crashes into a massive alien mothership.
Decades ago, it was an ark ship, containing hundreds of thousands of colonists on their way to establish a new civilization on an empty planet. The inhabitants lost touch with their mother planet, and experienced a breakdown of order among the conscious crew members. Infighting led to the accidental destruction of the colonists thought to be safely in suspended animation.
After spending half the game on the mothership, the mothership lands on an alien planet and the player character must survive there.
Gameplay is Bloodborne-esque, but with blasters, knock off lightsabers, and other science-fiction weaponry.

A medieval fantasy RPG, with elves, halflings, dwarfs, orcs and fae. The whole nine yards. But in a style similar to The Sims. Simulating relationships in the party, having to keep it together. The battle sections are influenced by what they’ve learned outside of it, their personality traits and their relationship with the other party members. You can choose the traits if you want, or have them randomized. You can choose continents to start on that’re basically the easy, medium and hard modes. Easy mode is idyllic meadow stuff with a pretty mundane evil overlord, Medium is more realistic in how people act and how corrupt people can get, and Hard is some Berserk-tier shit.
I put way too much thought into this.

A multiplayer co-op game where you play as clone troopers fighting an extended battle on a planet infested with AI-controlled battle droids.
Servers support 50+ people, and the levels are enormous control-point maps with strategic locations. A "game" lasts anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on the size of the planet.
The players’ objective is to capture the droid’s main base before a timer runs out, at which point droid reinforcements arrive and the players lose the game.
Certain control points provide resources, which grant access to bonuses like faster respawns, drivable vehicles, anti-air defenses, artillery strikes, etc.
While the players are offline, your clone becomes AI-controlled and can be ordered to perform basic tasks like defending bases, patrolling, and repairing vehicles.
Droid enemies range from basic B1s and B2s, to dwarf spiders and droidekas which work more like minibosses and will take teamwork or special weapons to bring down.
The droids are also controlled by a "director AI" capable of moving reinforcements around and even organizing attacks on clone-owned command posts.
Because the director can be unpredictable, players might need to go on smaller-scale recon missions to discover what the droid army is doing, and help plan larger attacks accordingly.
Winning a lot of missions can award armor customization, command ranks, etc.
It doesn’t need to be Star Wars, any setting pitting two asymmetrical armies against each other would work well.

I had to watch it a few times to pick up on certain things I overlooked. If you haven’t you should read the book because even though it deviates from the novel it does pay tribute more often than not (hypnosis code word)
With that said, I was surprised how much influence the game Control took from the 2nd book in the series, “Authority”. Surprised this isn’t discussed more.

action platformer where every level has a different tool/weapon for mobility and combat and you lose the old ones
combat is a medium in terms of difficulty but its just satisfying anyway

girls would have stats to manage; Happiness, Exp, Stamina, and stats used for dancing or sex; charisma, anal, showmanship, vaginal, handjob, blowjob,
you would hire girls and manage their salary and wellbeing, charge clients for sex according to their stats, and set up passive income with dancers.
you should be able to take control of an avatar, the bouncers, the girls, the johns once they paid.
You should be able to manage the game or just sit back and watch

Mario 64 100 players players work together to platform and players can attack each other.
Diablo 2 rts world of warcraft together. Can upgrade individual units can play as 1 unit or as big as you want. Can invade towns of enemies learn their language and take control of their populace.
Player controlled police.
Units can upgrade spells they find from killing stuff in the wild like poe.
Court and jail system.
Multiple people controlling armies.
Can betray each other by learning to control aspects of each others armies
Descent and metroid
Descent and star fox
Diablo 2 but its nintendo generational stuff.
You play as a famous nintendo dude and you go through all generations of nintendo from the beginning to modern.
Binding of isaac x legend of zelda dungeons but there is 5v5 pvp. You fight a huge boss in the middle.
A game where instead of killing things you have to resurrect them in challenging ways.
A smash brothers melee clone which has 360 degree attacks
Aerial CLANKS GRABS shields SMASHES
360 degree grabbing.
Double triple SMASHING and VELOCITY jumping and attacking.
No jump is ever the same no attack is ever the same.
Melee needs a sequel not call of duty ultimate dumbed down gameplay

Rust, but with mechanics that actually help undergeared players avoid heavily armed clans, and mechanics that make being loaded with armor, and carrying 3 rifles with 500 rounds of ammo somewhat cumbersome or impossible to move about stealthily.

An action WWII game about Roosevelt using his actual crack addiction to rid himself from being wheel chair ridden. I’d imagine roosevelt would like senator armstrong except his head would still look frail like in real life He then goes roids on a muscly rampage fighting axis forces in ww2. The bosses would be axis leaders the final being emperor Hirohito who’s some ghost samurai type shit. I also want one of the finisher lines for one of the bosses to be something about a chicken in every pot.

Alright I’m just going to start listing shit in order of importance from most to least
Take No Man’s Sky. Big endless space, bunch of randomly generated shit, base building.
Now let the player walk around inside of his ships and own different ships. He should be able to set a course, stand up in the cockpit, and walk around while it’s in flight. The ship will have customizable interiors. Weapon storage, navigation computers, possibly enterable gun turrets. For comparison see Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter or late game Subnautica. The player should be able to exit the ship, not just by pressing a button to leave it but by opening a side or rear hatch and actually walking out.
Now add space battles, Battlefront 2 style. In fact literally just copy Battlefront 2 for this it’s perfect. Make NPCs or just AI pilot the other ships.
Full on capital ships with modeled interiors, also customizable to some extent to have things like interior turret systems, different types of gun batteries, or other modified subsystems. Think StarSector but the changes aren’t abstract. The player can pilot these as well though they need hired NPC crew to function properly.
Boarding actions and space piracy. Landing a fighter craft inside the hangar of another larger ship and if you’re good enough being able to kill the NPCs inside and take it over. If you wanna get real memey add shit like grappling hooks and tractor beams to do the same to fighters, jumping out of your ship and hooking to another mid-flight.
Maybe throw in orbital bombardments and other crazy shit, also some basic economic simulation like being able to colonize planets with factories you build.
Also mod support.
Basically it’s the Sandbox of NMS, the gameplay of Mace Griffin and Battlefront 2, the strategy of X4, and the customization of StarSector.
I will never ever need another game. I have been aching for this for years.

Whatever Rend was supposed to be.
>3 teams on a massive map mirrored evenly 3 ways
>Round-based games, where you fight to win and once a team does, everything is reset
>Each team has a base on opposite corners of the map, with shields that drop once a week opening you up to raids
>Gather shit for your base to build it up and craft better gear
>Coordinate with your team to have each person specialize in some form of crafting or gathering
>Harass other teams at any time to slow their economy
Logging on to chill with my team and do my little job, and maybe go gently caress with the neighbors was peak MMO fun. But the game was plagued with some absolutely garbage elements, mainly the win condition. It literally killed the game and the devs were too stupid to fix it even after the writing was on the wall.

An MMORPG roguelite game heavily focused on the struggle between group cooperation and self-gain. Essentially Realm of the Mad God, that’ focuses more on its roguelite aspects
>100+ players decked in starting equipment enter a massive dungeon
>if you die, it’s permadeath (potential for dead players to have the ability to possess monsters, although this might result in mass suicides at the start of a session)
>monsters get stronger the longer you spend in the dungeon or a certain floor, similar to RoR
>have to hack and slash through mobs of enemies and occasionally gang up as a group on a larger one
>limited upgrades per floor placed in specific locations that can only be given to a set number of players
>as a result, obtainment of these upgrades either results in several small groups or individuals attempting to hijack them for themselves or requires the entire group to deviate off the main potential route costing them time.
>certain obstacles or bonus shit require large amounts of players, giving an incentive for groups to stick together
>bosses at the end of a floor are absolutely gently caressing huge and requires the main group to split off into sub-groups, to make things easier
Just a rough outline of certain aspects, but you get the idea. The net coding for it would probably be an absolute mess.

Literally just a version of Evolve that doesn’t suck.
To be more specific, a version of evolve that:
>makes the win state not be about killing the other team, but instead on different objectives the team must complete, and killing the team makes it easier
>monster must evolve to stage 3 and destroy the relay to win. The higher stage it is, the less wildlife spawns, and those that are left are dangerous, forcing more confrontations with hunters
>Hunters must destroy a certain number of eggs around the map and then wait for rescue. The nests spawn smaller monsters when under attack, and get stronger the less eggs there are
>Survivors randomly spawn on the map for the hunters to rescue or the monster to kill. If the Hunters rescue enough survivors, an egg is automatically destroyed. If the monster kills enough survivors, a new egg is created.
I have a lot more in-depth ideas about mechanics, but it’s essentially a version of evolve where that forces confrontation more often, since the human-monster fights are the actual fun part of the game.

take mining in space games to a whole new level. can do the ‘find special egg, blow it up’ from elite dangerous

but it also has landing on asteroids and mining them directly using special vehicles. All the characters are cute lolis.
Game has upgrade paths but its designed to be super comfy, mining in space as a hard working loli

Space battle combat, but instead of piloting spaceships you play as the space bug hivemind (think gunbuster) and when you die, you switch consciousness and control the next bug in the fleet. Part of the game is choosing which bugs are on the team to give yourself a strategic advantage. Certain units can infect enemy ships and make them playable.

> you play as a private detective hired to find a missing young girl
> case leads you to an isolated lakeside town
> slightly weird, but nothing supernatural
> gameplay is third person “realistic” movement. Think Uncharted 4 but with less context sensative stuff, also a souls-esque lock-on system
> mild platforming and combat against wild animals/forest bandits using ranged and melee weapons
> world is a bunch of semi-non linear areas that are highly interconnected, first time traversing one side of map to other might take an hour, but after opening shortcuts back its 5min run at most.
> your search for missing girl starts uncovering weird culty stuff, and it just keeps getting weirder and more unexplainable.
> as game progresses world and characters get slowly and subtly more sinister. EG bank teller starts as fat man surrounded by 8 people at desks working on computers, as you return the building gets more and more dilapidated and workers more disheveled. Eventually you see them as anorexic hunchbacks litterally chained to their boss slaving away at ancient typewriters. Then the chain has an IV drip sucking thier blood out. The final “true” version is that the Banker is actually a massive spider monster with ghoulish torso’s (with attached head/arms) for legs. Instead of computers or typewriters or parchment, the leg-creatures are tending to eggs and the bank isn’t even a building, it’s a web-filled cave.
> similar transformations happen to basically every NPC and location as game progresses.
> recurring theme of not knowing revelation from insanity
> you can end game at any point by getting in car and driving away, or you can stay and keep progressing until very end where ritual is completed and you have a “boss fight” against a moon sized abomination of non-eulcidian geometry (too big to fit on screen, but moving camera reveals its physical shape makes no sense), you cannot win, you cannot even interact with it, you just get knocked out.

> as things get crazier more and more complex and interesting enemy types are around.
> weapons and items are from all eras of history and it’s seemingly normal here. EG you might have a medival long sword as your primary and a Glock as your ranged weapon.
> no real handholding, you find out where to go by exploring and talking to townsfolk about new stuff you saw. Obviously as game progresses you get more “truthful” explanations.

>An Evangelion-inspired tactical RPG built in the same vein as the modern XCOM games
>Play as the mission director, with the responsibilities of managing your branch of not-NERV and it’s assets as well as your team of not-EVA pilots
>Send out trained recon soldiers to gather intel on the next impending angel attack so you can budget resources to make sure you are properly prepared
>Manage both the training and mental state of your pilots so they are ready for each attack with a Darkest Dungeon-like psyche system where they can be mentally challenged to result in positive or negative effects.
>Play into or try to play around your shadowy not-Seele benefactors who keep you budgeted. Either playing the loyalist to the cause and play into their dream of human instrumentality or try to play around them to influence Third Impact into your favor, but too many failures or play against them too strongly could result in loosing their support and potentially having them come after your firm completely.
I’ve actually been actively writing down concepts for this idea in a journal, might try to do something with the idea while in school.

a single player/coop game where you grind mobs/harvest resources/fight bosses to build a base. eventually you can start building bases in other places. you can opt in to an mmo-lite experience where you can build a base in a randomly changing pvp area. like a 100 foot radius around your base is always the same, but every few hours it changes and you might end up with not-so-friendly players as your neighbors

I think a Star Wars version of Jagged Alliance would be nice. A planet under control of the Empire for it’s richness in a rare resource. The original monarch house rulers secretly employs you to liberate them.
You must hire mercenaries from around the galaxy to reclaim the planet sector by sector, training resistance forces to maintain control. The mercenaries all have different stats, abilities and relations to each other that can build up in both positive and negative manners.

In depth waifu customization with tons of sexual positions like Custom Order Maid 2, class system like Final Fantasy V that all pilot different TSFs. Hub area like Three Houses. There are many densely packed free roaming areas that make make up segments of the world map, they are mostly the stages of giant battles and exploration but also have other activities. 1. an open world Harry Potter RPG set in the early to mid 1900’s
2. a new weird/modern fiction/whatever you want to call it first person detective game. gameplay-wise a mixture of Deus Ex/System Shock and Disco Elysium (competent shooting/action, open-ended gameplay, lots of mechanically deep dialog). the setting would be an intersection of city-slicking, the occult, film noir, and mild stylized sci-fi in terms of in-world technology (e.g. internet doesn’t exist but there’s a lot of electronic security, laser guns, and people ride Akira-style motorcycles)

Just imagine ordering worker units to start building barracks and other buildings and you get to walk around and watch your bases buildings get constructed around you, then order some units to be constructed, form a squad and then go out and shoot shit
Flat damage upgrades instead become unlocking new guns/weapons for squads
Tyranids, Orks, Chaos, SM and Chaos Demons as playable races. Tau, CSM and Dark Eldar as Expansion races.
