DS2 was bad and DS3 was mediocre, but I genuinely think DS1 is the best video game of the last decade at least. Don’t have much of an opinion on Bloodborne; it’s got good artstyle and atmosphere but that’s about it.-
I think Bloodborne was a very interesting experiment because they were playing on things

Those were my biggest gripes with the game, and really soured the entire experience for me. Other minor, subjective nitpicking:

Blatant and bald-faced lie. Dark Souls has objectively more build variety due to the number of different magics you can perform. Bloodborne is limited to strength builds, dex builds, arcane, and bloodtinge, and the latter two are barely even viable. Not just that, but armor actually means something in Dark Souls so your stats don’t just reflect your weapon but your armor choice as well.

Bloodborne removed a number of stats to streamline the game for retards who have never played an ARPG before, leading to even less of the aforementioned build variety. Those “useless” stats in Dark Souls can actually be used to make unique and fun builds like a Luck build.

Protection from status effects doesn’t change the fact that there’s no actual defensive bonus to the armor, it’s just different cosmetic pieces of cloth. In the DS games (especially 1 and 2) poise actually means something as does equip load, so your choice of armor can mean the difference between being a slow Havel-wearing juggernaut or a flippy ninja boy with no poise.-

Bloodborne is more tied to equipment and gear than numbers so you get as many builds. You can make a mindflyer build but it’s success is on you and your gear rather than just the numbers

There official statement was to make the game over all more challenging which I agree to that because unless you exploit or farm fag the game that smaller pool of options demands you think a lot harder on how you approach a fight, more so in the late game where the difficultly ratchets up.

Never understood this meme. Demon Ruins/Izalith are the only clear outliers, genuinely bad and unfinished areas. Archives are GREAT and I will never understand why people say otherwise. Catacombs are fine. Tomb of Giants I can see an argument for being bad, but I found it a nice change-up of the gameplay, stumbling through the dark and not knowing what’s coming. And Nito is a great boss fight.
