It’s not about hating or liking minorities, you stupid brain-damaged liberal. It’s about conveying what is ideal depending on context. In an idyllic rural community, you want a demographic majority of a specific race for reasons that are not reducible to racism. Homogenous societies tend to be higher trust and have higher cohesion.
For example, a game set in an African inspired rural village should be majorith black. Likewise, an English rural town should be majority white.

Did anyone else lose the daytime background music? Don’t think I’ve heard it play since the first couple of hours of the game.
Every other piece of music seems to be working fine, and I find it hard to believe that daytime is the only instance where we don’t get any bgm. -
It’s pretty comfy but a lot of its mechanics are not explained off the bat, some of which are pretty crucial (eg managing your stamina/health/wakefulness meters). So it’s an overwhelming introduction to the game.

If you loved and I mean actually loved the first game then the ending is kind of worth it. The rest of the game is garbage and don’t expect a decent port.

I love York so I was just glad to see more of him and the shifting perspective between future and past often worked really well and got me excited to keep going and see more. Unfortunately the combat gameplay is boring, the puzzles all solve themselves, and the time it takes to actually improve your stats far outweighs any time saved in the actual gameplay so doing the side stuff doesn’t feel rewarding at all.

This is Swery’s best game overall. It’s a really comfy mix of Majora’s Mask, exploration, investigation, photography, and gardening. You can take it all at your own pace. The first hour is pretty slow to get going though before it really gets going in terms of mechanics and quirky characters. There’s an awful lot more to this game than it appears at first.
DP1 was an awful game in lots of respects, but the story, characters, music, and vibe all added up to make lightning in a bottle. The Good Life isn’t that, but the gameplay is much more enjoyable than any of his games up to this point. If you’ve ever actually enjoyed the moment-to-moment gameplay of any of his past titles, you’ll enjoy this.

The worst thing about the game is needing to manually toggle quests to progress them. Have a quest to upgrade your farm? Well, if you upgrade your farm without the quest specifically active, it doesn’t count. Most games have all quests progress even in the background. You don’t have to manually activate them. But this game is built like a game from 2002.

The green bar is your fatigue and fills up by sleeping.
The red bar is stamina (health) which is filled by medicine and healthy food
and the bar marked with the orange and blue icons is stress which you can refill by eating well and drinking.-
I thought the blue and orange bar was sleep. The right side looks like a guy who has a lot of energy and the left side looks like somebody in bed. But maybe this is why I don’t play charades.
I just remember when I got the pop-up tutorial about sleep, my bar was at zero so I assumed that was it.

Game has hidden stats, you can’t just say "I tried some stuff" and pretend the game is bugged. It’s easy, eat food marked as healthy, drink specific stuff to relieve stress (more often non-alcoholic as you can get addicted). Oh, and also shower every day and do beauty care.

I did all of the quests to get sick including binge drinking to game over two times to become an alcoholic for the quest. If the game has hidden stats then I probably fucked everything up. Those quests are pretty stupid.

Unlike most creators Swery had a good excuse to drop out of D4’s production, at the time he was struggling with a condition that caused him to have almost no stamina leaving him unable to function until a doctor could figure out what was wrong with him.
Probably doesn’t help that microsoft are infamous for making absurd demands of developers like asking for tacked on MP or in this case the shitty kinect focus when the game actually works better as a point and click adventure.I really liked D4 when it hit PC but by then it was already dead.
