The old lady nurse who was coordinating was setting up the tables/supplies so I started helping her. I’m a weirdo. On one hand I would like to have a partner, a gf. But on the other hand I absolutely loathe to be around people. It’s easier to be more selective in forming parasocial relationships. You can find someone who you feel like you really relate to, who has the same interests or tastes as you. Friends are circumstantial, you just had to be in the right place at the right time, you had to find someone who was willing to put in the effort to be a friend. None of those things necessarily make them closer with you
Friends grow apart as we change and finding new friends is difficult, especially ones that may share our new views. But finding a new streamer is easy, there are millions of people putting themselves out there, you just choose one and try. I’ve noticed streamers are the first ones to get triggered about the idea of parasocial relationships, while exploiting them for their own benefit. This is kind of sad and can be hurtful. It’s a part of human nature, there are obvious motivations and benefits. Would you really prefer people just feel alone? It’s time people got over their hangups with this and accept it.

I literally lost friends over League of Legends and in R6 Siege a long time ago because I was the highest ranked person, and everyone I was playing with was really bad. It was terrible for me because unless I played god-like every game we’d lose and all they would do is whine and bitch at each other even though they were all terrible.
