depends on what it is and what you’re using it for
like overload I usually go area because shielded enemies or mechs are often clustered together and you often don’t need the extra damage anyway, even a small chance of a group hit is worth it
but with incinerate’s travel time I find it difficult to land group hits, plus that’s more of a high damage move so you want to squeeze out as much as possible
I guess ask yourself if your main problem is crowd control or dps. -
It just depends on what you’re fighting. Wide singularity is great for charging Husks but Heavy Singularity can stunlock a charging Krogan with full shields/armor among doing its usual thing when those defenses are down. I generally didn’t go for them though since the single target versions are better for the more dangerous enemies/bosses in the game. You can always put one one version on one companion and the other on another with the same ability so you have more options that way.

If you play the trilogy a certain way, you can end up in the Citadel DLC at the worst fucking party ever.

I’m currently trying to do a playthrough of the trilogy where Shepard actually tries to deal with the Reaper problem in a "realistic" timeframe. As in not doing sidequests unless they seem pertinent to dealing with the reapers. I’m on ME2 currently and it’s awkward because the whole fucking game constantly trying to pull you towards sidequests.

Plus they did some lazy things. Instead of updating ME1 outfits they updated the ME3 outfits and ported them over to two and three.
They replaced ME1’s kino walk/run animations, including the over the shoulder jog, as well as male/female variation, with the shitty ME2 naruto run and no male/female variation.
They got rid of the use any armor glitch meaning your non-soldier Shepard can no longer wear heavy N7 armor.
Aside from that, they made QOL changes to the gameplay that actually for the most part improve the experience. Things like guns having different firing rates, aiming feels closer to ME3, the MAKO handles better, and the classic leveling is fixed. ME1 is the best in the trilogy, and you’ll feel that when playing LE, I just wish they didn’t jank the lighting and animations.Some textures are better like human faces, but the detail is just not on the same level for practically everything else. Textures are better, lighting is worse.
Plus they did some lazy things. Instead of updating ME1 outfits they updated the ME3 outfits and ported them over to two and three.
They replaced ME1’s kino walk/run animations, including the over the shoulder jog, as well as male/female variation, with the shitty ME2 naruto run and no male/female variation.
They got rid of the use any armor glitch meaning your non-soldier Shepard can no longer wear heavy N7 armor.
Aside from that, they made QOL changes to the gameplay that actually for the most part improve the experience. Things like guns having different firing rates, aiming feels closer to ME3, the MAKO handles better, and the classic leveling is fixed. ME1 is the best in the trilogy, and you’ll feel that when playing LE, I just wish they didn’t jank the lighting and animations.-

Because femshep is hand-made, she wasn’t scanned from a model, unlike maleshep.
She was made with similar tools you use to make a custom character.-
She’s so much uglier than most of the generic NPCs though it’s astonishing. They have to have been able to have done a better job than THAT. At any rate I agree with the implication that they should have scanned an attractive person for femshep the way they did maleshep.

I sorta get it? She’s more or less a secondary protagonist in this franchise at this point. But it sorta sucks knowing likely she’s the only one returning, while people like Tali, Wrex and Garrus won’t show up.

Always felt like Male Shepard was the worst of both worlds when it came to Sci-Fi game protagonists.
Neither the development of an Isaac Clarke/Marcus Fenix/Exile nor the wish fulfillment of a Master Chief/Gordon Freeman/Revan.
Just a 7th generation cover shooter man, funny lines but nothing more.
Femshep at least adds a bit of incompetence to keep things interesting.-

Hale’s ridiculous voice acting adds a desperation to the role that makes her seem more a political choice for Spectre than a legitimate war hero or whatever.
Listen to femshep try to threaten someone, it’s comical. She always sounds like she wants to cry or jump somebody’s bones.
Male Shepard’s renegade lines are god-tier, but he’s really bland besides that. Femshep adds hours of replayability. Plus her being a female driver makes it believable as to why the mako handles so poorly-

Yeah, 2 has much better characters. But I think the small arc he goes in from 2-3 is neat. It’s nothing special and there’s characters they clearly wanted to give depth too as well. But it’s cool to see him grow.

Feels like the only people who seethe about Jacob 24/7 are those who got cucked in ME3-
I liked the idea they were going for with him in ME3 (building/protecting a family), but my issues with Jacob stem from him being full of shit in ME2.
He wants you to trust him from the get go even though you have no reason to do so, but is suspicious of anybody non-Cerberus and especially aliens (Tali, Thane, Grunt). He talks himself up as the honest alliance soldier who got saddled with too much "red tape" to get shit done, even though he was a freelancing corsair, and thusly was barely working within alliance regulations as is. He claims to hold himself to some great moral standard, but had no problem signing up with a terrorist organization just because his fee-fee’s were hurt that he didnt get any recognition for stopping that Batarian poison attack.
Its gets worse when you compare him to Kaiden or Garrus. Kaiden IS the honest, morally concious, loyal alliance soldier, who actually sticks to his guns and gives you shit for working with goddamn terrorists. And when Garrus wants to break regulations, its because he believes the ends do truly justify the means, and he actually understands and accepts the consequences and imorality of acting that way.
ME2 Jacob is either a complete retard ala Conrad Verner who thinks himself a "gud guy", but was too stupid to realize quitting the alliance in order to work for terrorists is a pretty morally questionable decision. Either that or he’s a complete jackass who wants to have his cake and eat too; he wants the validation of being a just, righteous hero without making any personal sacrifices or drawing the line like Kaiden did, and will ignore his own "code" at the drop of a hat if the going gets tough or situation doesnt suit his whims.
I also give him shit for sitting at the beach for half a year.

I spent like 9 hours trying to get into it cause I had nothing better to do and I quit playing just before I got onto the second open world planet, because if it took me that long to get there then the game was clearly only gonna waste my time

Indoctrination theory makes sense if you consider the fact that Cerberus is loaded with Reaper tech, and they used a great deal of reverse engineered Reaper Tech to bring back Shepard; which is what allowed the Reapers to subtly take over Shepard’s mind such that by the beginning of the 3rd game, the hero has been completely subverted and is driving the entire galaxy to extinction.
