GuestAre sports fans the biggest coomsumers out of all media?, think about it, they will literally refuse to play a game if it doesn’t have a jpg of their favorite player or their team. They’re quite literally degenerate gamblers on par if not more than gacha players.

Guesteasily the biggest. Think about how much a sports fan will spend on jerseys, merchandise, tickets, games, special hd channels/streams to watch their games, and other collectibles. If you added up the cost of a ravid sports fan it would far outweigh any neet even ones with huge figure collections

GuestNo it isn’t. Ultimate Team prints money, and so do the players. They can tell FIFA to fuck off, and only lost the name FIFA and the World Cup. When everyone plays Ultimate Team and can sign with players/club separately from FIFA it makes sense to make FIFA lower that shit.

GuestIs there a monopoly on sports game?, like, can I just make a fortnite looking football game that just has made up players and teams or you legally can’t?, some of the best sports games that I’ve played have had nothing to do with hyper realism of having real players and real teams, seasons, and all that sports bullshit.
-

GuestYou can make any sports game you want. The licenses are just for real life leagues and teams, but that’s really important since that’s what sports fans care for the most.

GuestThere’s nothing stopping you from making a great sports game with made up teams right now, you just won’t make money because the people who buy sports games religiously are turbo normies who aren’t satiated unless they can play with real teams with day-and-date accurate rosters
They also probably won’t buy a game that looks to creative or different -

GuestYou want to know why that failed, why almost all of the non licensed sports games fail? No franchise mode. The old EA sports titles from the 6th gen consoles was actually fantastic for the most part because they had fairly in depth franchise modes. And on the off chance you get a game with a franchise mode like Axis Football, the actual gameplay on the field fucking sucks.

Guest>EA leaks that big mean FIFA are trying to get a billion dollars from them to try and get sympathy
Fuck off, good that someone has a higher garden gnome powerlevel than those garden gnomes at EA. FIFA has all the leverage in the world because they know sports consooomers don’t give a shit about EA making the game, only the fact the FIFA brand is on the cover and they can play as every team under them -

Guestit’s only natural that some of that money that football fans around the world give to EA ends up in the hands of football professionals. $1B for 4 years license is not that much when we look at how much more EA makes annually only from FIFA.

Guestthis is stupid, I don’t think a name change from FIFA to EA Sports FC would damage sales. Everyone knows it’s the same game. Especially with PES off the picture. I don’t know if there will be any licensing issues for the players/leagues though
