I think a "Undead nightmare II" would have been cooler as a monster mash scenario. Werewolves, vampires, etc. start popping up and Dutch realizes there’s good money to be made in hunting these creatures.
Depending on choice Arthur is afflicted with either vampirism or lycanthropy, micah will be infected with the opposite. Arthur must try to hold onto his humanity as long as possible and later battle micah in a storm.

Because they did it twice before and they lost money. They sold Undead Nightmare/Episodes of Liberty City, two gigantic expansion packs to existing games, and it just didn’t hit the numbers that they thought they’d hit. You might as well call EFLC GTA IV 2. But it just wasn’t profitable in the long run to keep it going.

I think Rockstar is going to go the way of Blizzard in the coming years. They are at that turning point I think.

I mean their dedication to online is pretty bad. They’ve only out out like 2 original games in the past decade. But theres really no denying that RDR2 and even GTAV were top tier high production games, even if only playing single player. As long as they put out a solid crafted game once a decade and slap some nonsense multiplayer, they’ll never have to worry about money again. I guarantee GTAVI will be preordered like fuck no matter what it is or how long it takes. It’s basically a legend despite not even existing yet.

I play RDO too much and all Rockstar ever did for it was show me how awful/ and greedy of a company they currently are and will be for the rest of their days-
I think I lasted about 4 months of playing it before giving up on it. And that was in 2020. I’ve never witnessed a dev give so little of a shit about their online game before. Especially one that made a billion dollars off the game already.

i dont think its as simple as blaming GTA Online. games are simply becoming more expensive to produce. making something like this would cost a lot of money. would they make a profit off it? probably, but at some point it doesnt become worth it to produce a really big DLC because its a large money sink.

I’d say if they’re going to make another Red Dead game they should focus on someone else or a different group entirely. Two games dedicated to the Van Der Linde gang is enough in my opinion. You’ve seen the gang when they were on the run, functioning as a group leading to their eventual downfall. Then you saw the aftermath and the fate of each member eventually leading to Jack Marston and Edgar Ross. It’s over. At least, it should be over.

Native Americans rising from their burial grounds in New Hanover, riding undead buffalo and mustangs, leading battle against survivor caravans and towns. Murfree Brood/Skinner Gang vs. Undead vs. Player clusterfucks. In another universe the possibilities are all realized instead of just being wasted potential.
