Doubt that'll happen, but if it does it would be cool as frick, and not just for Pokemon, but the Mario Sports games as well. >Mario Golf/Tennis is released on Game Boy Online and you can transfer your character to the N64 games
It wouldn't be cool as frick it'd be the bare minimum. You can use a transfer pak in FREE emulators since before the Switch even came out.
Nintendo is pathetic.
It was on the giga leak anon, they are working on it and NSO dev team is even using flashcarts because Nintendo won't give them shit to test old hardware. All in all it is not 100% confirmation as it could just be proof of concept or training for their team but still a possibility
Its not impossible but good fricking lord is it a nightmare. Idk about stadium 1 though but i just recently beat 2s gym leader castle with rentals and i would sooner chop my own dick off than try that again.
Oh frick i didnt even know there was a round 2. Im not even going to bother with that though unless i figure out some way to inject some mons on my phone.
It gets absolutely ridiculous, they start using competitive items and movesets. It's hard even with a well trained team, 100% not meant for rentals to go anywhere near it.
Also not seen here: they get massive stat EXP boosts, which is a huge "behind the scenes" advantage that will make you miss OHKO and 2HKO windows that you were sure you have, will make you question why the frick that Pokemon just outsped you, etc. Stat EXP is no joke in gen 1 and 2, you need to vitamin and grind the frick up to be on equal footing.

Oh god yeah i doubt ill even bother with that. I dont know much of anything about gen 1/2 competitive stuff anyway id be trying to have a fist fight with a running lawnmower
I'm surprised none of you have mentioned the possibility of the in-game Gameboy. It's likely that stadium ends up releasing alongside the Gameboy and will be compatible.
It would be cool if they release GB/GBC/GBA for NSO with Gen 1/2/3 the same day they release Stadium 1 (and? 2). Even cooler if they somehow manage to emulate the Transfer Pak and let you choose your save file from Gen 1/2 to load before booting a Stadium game. Afterwards, they would really throw the ball out of the park if HOME compatibility is added for those old Gens but I expect no dreams fulfilled only disappointment
If they don't integrate the Game Boy Tower with the GB games, this will be an absolute joke, but sadly it's what we've come to expect for many years now
stadium is impossible with rentals unless you heavily abuse explosion/mirror coat/counter, not to mention the AI knows your moves and knows that their move will crit so they choose that move
>1 can be beaten with rentals but you use a ducking stupid team and all the fun is sucked out >2 is basically impossible to beat with rentals unless you absolutely use bullshit tactics and have luck on your side
The frick is the point?
>rental only
KEK, nothing burger, what a waste of money.
I'll stick to Project64 and using save data from emulating gen 1&2 interchangeably, playing with rentals is aids and no fun.
They're already literally shutting down services on the 3DS and sweeping that shit right under the rug and pretending it never existed, so they can sell you the new old product, again, in a new service.
You'll own nothing and you'll be happy.
The service for the eshop doesn't shut down till next year and even then, it's just eshop. Yo still have the games you download and the online for those games will still function. This is why Bank subs are becoming free next year. You can still use Bank and Transfer, you just wont be able to download them anymore.
Real talk: Nintendo's done with the GB titles, save MAYBE releasing something like the mini SNES where it's a game boy-like shell and an emulator full of certain titles but since they killed their handheld division for the Switch (as in they folded the portable HW and console HW divisions into one homologous unit), they've similarly decided supporting older games from their handhelds just isn't worth the effort. VC sales ere minimal (RGBY only sold 1.5m), they didn't even put the best handheld Zelda game on VC (I got minish cap as an Ambassador alright, but no-one bought a 3DS till the price drop either so they didn't get it) and of the two highest-selling handhelds they've ever made, the selection of games was decidedly normie bullshit, gimped ports of NES titles or crappy tie-in games, with Pokémon updating itself for the modern as time goes on.
The Switch is popular - the highest-selling home console unit they've ever made and only 45m off its highest-selling games unit ever. And due to that, they're targeting a lot more people than just their baseline fanboys, because that makes more sense than the alternative of pandering to a niche of the overall.
Ok so what's the problem with rentals? It could be a niche meta as long as there's a decent variety (I have no idea how many rental teams are in the game)
Combination of the rentals being really bad and the whole appeal of the original games being bringing your guys from the GB games to fight in 3D battles.
Rentals are one of every non-uber legendary. They have Gamefreak certified garbage sets. The harder battle in both games are against npcs with good competitive sets who can read your inputs. Rentals can get you halfway through at best without relying on bullshit and luck
Kadabra is literally the only top tier rental pokemon in stadium 1 due to having usable stats and a decent movepool. It’s basically required to be on every team.
They fricking suck, unless you do the autistic speedrun method and just suicide every turn with explosion and win, i will cope and guess that the gb games will be announced on Pokémon day and that’s why the stadium games are set to release in 2023
This is 100% what will happen but it was mind boggling stupid for Nintendo to announce stadium before this
>Kadabra is literally the only top tier rental pokemon in stadium 1 due to having usable stats and a decent movepool. It’s basically required to be on every team.
Depends which Kadabra, I remember one of them being kind of ass.
They fricking suck, unless you do the autistic speedrun method and just suicide every turn with explosion and win, i will cope and guess that the gb games will be announced on Pokémon day and that’s why the stadium games are set to release in 2023
Stadium was designed for transfer Pokemons from GB. Still, a rental ones are useable but most of moveset are very luck based and it gives you a mental challenge for sure.
Their sets were made back when GameFreak didn’t care about the movesets of NPCs. A hodge podge of absolute garbage sets that would piss off even a monkey.
Game Freak had no hand in this game, as evidenced by the ruthlessness of the computer trainer teams and AI. The rentals are bad on purpose to encourage you to train your own Pokemon, that is the true core experience of Stadium. Half of the game serves as an enhancement to the GB games, from the extremely useful PC tools to manage your Pokemon to the doduo/dodrio tower speeding up breeding and grinding.
That's why not being able to use your own teams is based, it forces you to use mons and tactics you wouldn't usually. In a way, Stadium was due it's own dexit anyway
Toughest trainer between the two games for sure. If you don't freeze it first thing you're fricked. That or multiple paras in a row. Either way, you can't win with strategy, it's down to luck
there was a guide long ago that explained how to beat the game step by step with only rentals, that was the only way I did it, because I was poor, didn't have a N64 nor game boy and had to play it on project 64
When was this? There have been transfer pak plugins for pj64 for a while. Nowdays you can get perfect N64 emulation on the mupen64plus vulkan core. Glorious time to be an emulator chad and laugh at the consoomers.
Oh yeah that was rough. N64 emulation has sucked for such a long time, by far one of the hardest systems to emulate accurately. I was overjoyed when that parallel vulkan shit came out a couple of years ago, perfect N64 emulation AND hardware acceleration AND it doesn't melt your CPU doing it.
The fact that Nintendo struggles with n64 emulation in their own system says a lot.
>s-surely they'll add Game Boy transfer compatibility!
You fricking idiots never learn, selling only half-baked products is what this franchise does now. The Stadium games are near worthless without transfer, and they absolutely will not put in the effort needed to make it possible.
They could have released an ultimate Gen 1-2 pack of RBY, GSC, Stadium 1+2, and any other thing that may have connectivity and you know they would have sold fricking hard.
The rentals aren't that bad. My family couldn't afford Gameboys for me and my siblings but we were allowed the N64 because we could share. Beat all of Stadium 1 and 2 with just rental mons and we were all around 8-11 years old. We still have the Earthquake Gligar gift mon ready to redeem whenever
Are in-game saves on the Switch N64 still fricked? I'll never get over losing an entire run of Paper Mario. Won't bother renewing for this if that's still the case.
reminder/PSA for those who don't know, N64 emulation on the Switch sucks major wiener, this will almost definitely be the worst version of this game. wait to see how it performs before subscribing to this shit service if you want it that badly.
>no transfers
extremely homosexualy but expected, i knew virtual console compatibility was out of the question the moment VC was replaced with GaaS shit
>switch online
it'll be the biggest crock of shit of shit if it doesn't have some kind of online play, but once again, expected
KINO
>Broke
No transfering pokemon ruins the game
>Woke
Lack of gameshark to circumvent the Prime Cup grind ruins the game
How will this work with only Rentals?
You answered your own question. Rentals only.
Poorly
git gud
It won't and you'll buy it any
Welcome back Stadium 🙂
>rentals only
WHATS THE POINT
Minigames. 🙂
When Game Boy gets added it will have the functionality
Doubt that'll happen, but if it does it would be cool as frick, and not just for Pokemon, but the Mario Sports games as well.
>Mario Golf/Tennis is released on Game Boy Online and you can transfer your character to the N64 games
It wouldn't be cool as frick it'd be the bare minimum. You can use a transfer pak in FREE emulators since before the Switch even came out.

Not legal
>pokemon cannot be transfered
What's the fricking point
Source- my ass

Link to giga leak, then?
It was on Ganker a few months ago but here's a video about it
>Never fricking ever
>no transferring means rentals only
I hate this franchise
You'll buy it anyways
>buying shit i can emulate in less than a minute
??????
>buying videogames when i can imagine playing them in my mind
?????????????
Pic related, my mind. Laughing at Nintendrones but also I'm sorry for them.
>those names
Well excuse me anon I'm having too much fun to care.
lmao Nintendo wont even let you buy it
please subscribe to our expansion pack for our shitty online service :^)
It would be nice if i could at least transfer the prize pokemon to home just for collecting
Imagine getting an Amnesia Psyduck in Home.
/vp/ already owns these games, who cares.
JUst let people buy it from the Eshop with a game boy color emulator for the games
Double dip if you must but let people play their damn games
Unplayable with rentals. I seriously hope you gays will emulate them yourselves and get the full experience.
Its not impossible but good fricking lord is it a nightmare. Idk about stadium 1 though but i just recently beat 2s gym leader castle with rentals and i would sooner chop my own dick off than try that again.
Did you beat round 2, anon?
That's when it gets into unplayable territory.

You see anon, your fault in this thinking is that this would require effort on the part of Nintendo and/or TPC.

I dreamed of being able to use our Virtual Console save files with Stadium on Switch but I knew that was wishful thinking

The NFE have better moves than the fully evolved, forcing you use for example, Kadabra over Alakazam.
also the items available to you are GARBAGE. Berry is the only healing item you can have. 10HP.
Kadabra is literally the only top tier rental pokemon in stadium 1 due to having usable stats and a decent movepool. It’s basically required to be on every team.

Having a mental challenge is a prerequisite.

Gamefreak didn't make the game

kindly get nintendo's wiener out of your mouth, pokemon stadium without transferring misses the entire point.
No it doesn't, it's still a battle sim. You don't need your own ones when the game gives you plenty.
Is Japan getting the gimped one with only some Pokemon as well, or are they going straight to the 151 version?
They'll get Harvest Moon 64 instead
Level 20 Alakazam in PIka cup is unbeatable with rentals. You cannot beat that trainer.
Toughest trainer between the two games for sure. If you don't freeze it first thing you're fricked. That or multiple paras in a row. Either way, you can't win with strategy, it's down to luck

TAKEN DOWN AT THE WORD GO
At least we get to hear him again.
>/vp/: ugh, pokemon is so stagnant, this series is dead
>also /vp/: WOAH, A GAME I PLAYED THIRTY YEARS AGO? TAKE MY FRICKING MONEY, NINTENDO!!!
I have never stopped playing gens 1 and 2. Cope, seethe, consoom.
Are in-game saves on the Switch N64 still fricked? I'll never get over losing an entire run of Paper Mario. Won't bother renewing for this if that's still the case.
I’ve been using it ever since it came out and I’ve never had any issue like that
What was the issue again? I remember something moronic regarding saving
Oh right, now I remember
The emulator doesn't save unless you close the game
reminder/PSA for those who don't know, N64 emulation on the Switch sucks major wiener, this will almost definitely be the worst version of this game. wait to see how it performs before subscribing to this shit service if you want it that badly.
It's the only legal way to play. You need to support it.
The fact that you might be serious is so funny to me. Consoomers are just a meme right? Right? No one actually thinks llke this?
They do
Why do you think they complain about games not being translated when fan translations exist?
>Games via subscription service
this is for buying digital games also
Online services are not eternal
Nothing is eternal you absolute moron, you’ll die and some beaner will sell ur games at a flea market
What happens after you die doesn't matter
Many shitposters ITT right now will live to be at least 150 years old.
>Nothing is eternal
except for your worship for corporate wiener
>i dont know how to read
ah youll be the beaner i was talking about then
>no transfers
extremely homosexualy but expected, i knew virtual console compatibility was out of the question the moment VC was replaced with GaaS shit
>switch online
it'll be the biggest crock of shit of shit if it doesn't have some kind of online play, but once again, expected
This people are so incompetent they made Konami look like a company that actually respects and cares about their IPs
tied to a subscription. wish i could buy it alone
