God dammit, I think that was the worst thing about Duke Nukem Forever. I can't even imagine getting through that game with only 2 weapons instead of 4.
I thought it was some mod thing that I had to use effort to get working. I didnt realise it was all bundled together as a simple stand alone download until this thread

Why cant they make this into a normal game I can buy on steam instead of a mod? I liked ion fury
This is pretty good bait it's actually believable in a fricked up way. Good job have some yous
Also I was swimming in ammo by the end of each episode, and stopped worrying about running out like halfway through or earlier. Are people just spam firing and missing or what. tbh being full is worse for me because I'm afflicted with autism about wasting pickups, if I pick up a 10-pack at 49/50 it causes me physical pain.

I am playing on hardest survival difficulty and rubbing my body with and swimming in excessive ammo what I got. You know you can kill dudes with one shot to the head, right?
I'm doing my first playthrough on Survival and I find the enemies and myself both in sufficient danger. Now that my weapons are upgraded I kinda wish I tried Apocalypse but I think Survival is fine.
I think the Revolver just does that. Cause it's awesome. Yeah if stage one on Survival seemed simple I would bump it up to max difficulty before I went to far as well. I personally struggled just a little bit at the beginning but that was before I started using my crowbar as the effective mustant disassembler that it is.
I mean I'm not even sure if Survival or Apocalypse are the "true" "highest" difficulty. Like, things are 25% tankier in Apocalypse, but you also get twice the ammo compared to survival, so you can just spam revolver instead of taking your time. Also shotgun probably one-hits most early game enemies anyway, and even on Survival once I've found it I mostly used it.
Not entirely sure, just feels that the revolver one-hits more often when landing a shot at the upper parts of an enemy body than the lower parts of their body. Might be placebo effect with classic random damage though.

I think there might be something "like" locational damage. I know you eventually fight these mutants with riot shields and you can literally shoot their gun hand to frick them up. I do it all the time.
Yeah it was a neat change of pace at first but the outdoor parts with the motorcycle are way worse than the indoor bits. But that's the usual thing with mods, usually the gimmicks can't compete with the core gameplay. They're usually just the dev playing around, but that's part of the soul.
>Playing Ashes Episode 2 >Get the motorcycle back >Thats cool but it kinda sucks to drive >Game takes it away after a map >gives me a giant acid dog instead
This thing handles way better and is fun to use. So I'm at the point where it seems like I've got some choices to make regarding Prosperity. Thing is I havent even met the Water Baron yet so I'm hesitant to just throw him under the bus for a bunch of Raiders even if these Raiders didnt immediately try to kill me like all the rest. This mod is great. Oh and stop using ammo on mutants OP. Just whack em. I'm swimming in bullets because of that.
I think it should be easier for mod creators to sell their mods. Like a Steam store and platform for mods. 99c cost cap. Treat it as a market experiment and see what kinds of mods get produced.
Absolutely not. Mods are good because >they can remix commercial engines, copyrighted assets, etc. at all and no one cares >they can build on other mods without butthurt (usually) >the devs just want to make cool shit
Money literally ruins all of this. Minecraft mods became insufferable over pennies from adfly. Frick off.
>Gameplay is good >Aesthetic is good >Music is good >Enemies are good >Beat the level in 3 minutes and spend the next 14 minutes unsuccessfully looking for secrets
I have autism and cannot enjoy DOOM and its many WADs.
Good

How do I play this ashes game. I see it posted here a lot but its not on steam or gog
https://www.moddb.com/mods/ashes-2063
Why cant they make this into a normal game I can buy on steam instead of a mod? I liked ion fury
Unlikely, it uses a lot of copyrighted assets.
have a nice day
dilate.
>why can't I pay for this free thing
have a nice day
what would be wrong with paying like 5 bucks for it?
brainwashed
Actually money is how you steer the community.
are you incapable of enjoying something unless you were charged money? what the frick are you
you can donate to the creator dumbass
t. poorgays
inb4 poorgay seethe
post nose
>that thing people can get for free, well I'M gonna SPEND MONEY to get them, see how you like THAT poorgay?!
that's just poor business sense anon
Probably because there are assets coming from 500 different games.
why are amerigoys like this?
I thought it was some mod thing that I had to use effort to get working. I didnt realise it was all bundled together as a simple stand alone download until this thread

Dumb zoomer

so is this the one I download?
correct
so I'm reading there's 3 games in this series or something
ashes 2063
dead man walking
afterglow
Is there standalone download for those other too as well?
Those are episodes
Oh right ok. So that standalone file
has ashes 2063 and afterglow but not dead man walking?
Probably, I just downloaded them as individual Doom 2 mods. I don't actually know what that particular standalone contains.
It also has Dead Man Walking, it's a Campaign option when you start a New Game.
Dead Man Walking takes place after turtorial but before ashes 2063.
Is that when you should play it or just when it takes place?
Use the crowbar on cannibals and bugdogs/pitfiends, I never had ammo problems on survival.
dude that's game design nowadays its just like doom eternals OMGGGGGG
>not Crowbaring the Cannibals whenever you have the opportunity to
Sounds you need to git gud, OP.
I played on ultra violence equivalent and never ever ran out of ammo in a main weapon or had to scavenge for it. just aim homie
Aiming is for the unlucky.
I didn't really have that problem. Used my crowbar or pistol on mutants and shotgun/uzi for everything else
I am playing on hardest survival difficulty and rubbing my body with and swimming in excessive ammo what I got. You know you can kill dudes with one shot to the head, right?
more like resident evil
Should I play on Survival or Apocalypse and why?
I'm doing my first playthrough on Survival and I find the enemies and myself both in sufficient danger. Now that my weapons are upgraded I kinda wish I tried Apocalypse but I think Survival is fine.
I completed first level on Survival and it seems benign enough, which is why I'm asking is Apocalypse is better.
Feels a bit weird that I just one-shot basic raiders with a revolver.
I think the Revolver just does that. Cause it's awesome. Yeah if stage one on Survival seemed simple I would bump it up to max difficulty before I went to far as well. A well-landed revolver shot does one-shot most human enemies. It does well against smaller mutants too.
>A well-landed revolver
Does the game have headshots? Because I'm not sure it does. Just feels like classic random damage.

Remembering the direction this comic went makes me mad.
while novel at first, I really dislike the motorcycle bits
especially considering you can run just as fast

Frick that trash, example: Bethesda's paid mods. Frick yourself for not even thinking past the first stage.

Yep, if modders want to get paid then offer a patreon donation on the side or, I dunno, try making a real fricking game instead of ripping people off.
I thought this was supposed to be the appeal of post apocalyptic games
So 2063 was released years ago, and Afterglow was a recent 2nd episode?
Yeah that is fair assessment of it's chronological existence
Got me when I played the sterilized maps, but then I remembered they only used Doom 1 enemies in that episode.
