mine works to this day while the RB on the series X joystick i bought 2 years already died.
Guess I was just unlucky. I ran through 3 or 4 during the life of the 360. I still have one that I beat armored core with but it'll probably be the last one I use
controller drift is a complete mystery still despite people saying they know the cause or what not
either you put in extreme hours or dust and dirt is fucking up the parts more than believed
it's fucked that it took this long for hall effect sticks
to even become common on third party controllers after sega implemented them ages ago
depends on the controller, I have one from 2008 that basically turned to dust while my other one from 2011 is just a little smooth on top despite being used the most.
x controller is a downgrade. It's a poorly built snowflake and breaks from just about anything. Fall 2 feet from your sofa onto the carpet? busted.
And don't let the precious fucking thing get dirty, because you'll probably destroy the controller if you open it up because of it's retarded design. Cables will tear, vibration motors kaput, goddamn mess of wires.
not even ergonomic, nowhere to rest your index fingers unlike the 360 controller.
complete opposite of the 360 controller.
360 controllers could handle dirt, grime, wear, tear, being tossed, being spiked; fucking US Military used them for jerry rigged drones and bomb defusal bots.
the 360 controller's primary fate was simply outliving the rubber on the joysticks which took 10 years of constant use to wear down to the bare plastic nubs. Mechanically, the thing barely ever fails.
X is a downgrade from the xbone controller. The d pad feels so much shittier and I hate the texture on the triggers. Also bumpers aren't nearly as nice. And the xbone controller is a downgrade from 360 in every way except the dpad. Genuinely Xbox controllers have just gotten worse.
The latest models of the xbone were really nice, they fixed the horrible bumpers and added bluetooth, not as good as the stock 360, but a decent middle point.
yeah the plastics they use for the gulikit triggers are straight ass
even worse if you're a pajeet, any amount of hand oil makes the triggers unusable
it's a shame, everything else about the controller is amazing
There still quite a ways to go before it's great at anything. I usually still prefer my DS4, makes my hands cramp on the triggers less.
You can't really claim the ergonomics are peak when it's still a unibody controller and doesn't let you move your arms independently from one another. The right analog stick has also been consistently useless once you move away from simple platformers and is better replaced with a touchpad and supplemented with a gyroscope.
hall effects means it uses magnets to register the stick travel. Meaning the physical wear is almost non-existant, They last much longer and feel pretty much the same.
Does it have hall effect sensor joysticks? if not then it's worthless shit
No it doesn't, controllers with hall effect joysticks are still very rare.
>aren't all their good controllers wired?
pretty much yeah but you could always get a 8bitdo instead but it costs almost double >do they feel different or just last longer
both since it's magnets instead of scratching carbon
if I didn't own a xbox controller already I would be using something else entirely
and I cannot replace my dualshock 3 with anything else since sony does not give alternatives nor do third parties have a brain and realize emulation is a market outside of low budget garbage and 2 companies
>you could always get a 8bitdo instead but it costs almost double
there's not a large price difference where i live, but the 8bitdo doesnt have the neat magnetic sticks, right?
The latest models of the xbone were really nice, they fixed the horrible bumpers and added bluetooth, not as good as the stock 360, but a decent middle point.
Agreed the revision xbone controllers were decent.
I had a wired one for PC but unfortunately the cable wore out. Maybe when the wireless Series X 360 style controller comes out I’ll use that for PC again
ebay exists and let's just forget retards unironically think that a shitty old television is worth more than a new one despite you can do everything the old television did if you had more than 3 brain cells to set up some software
It is quite aesthetically pleasing.
If only the joysticks lasted longer than a couple years or so
The average 360 controller lasted 8-10 years. I have a poorfrag friend who claims his controller from 2007 still works just fine.
Guess I was just unlucky. I ran through 3 or 4 during the life of the 360. I still have one that I beat armored core with but it'll probably be the last one I use

Mine legit still work to this day, better than the PS3 or PS4 controllers I have.
mine's from 2013 and still works
shit dpad
x series controller is better in every way

Modern Microsoft is full of shit lying retards.
feels like a cheap cereal box toy in my hands, hate it

It's perfect except for the dpad and how the shoulder buttons can turn squeaky over time
I got one of these but it just isnt the same. I think its the triggers. The 360 had triggers that actually felt like gun triggers.
At least this has hall effect joysticks so it will last forever
yeah the plastics they use for the gulikit triggers are straight ass
even worse if you're a pajeet, any amount of hand oil makes the triggers unusable
it's a shame, everything else about the controller is amazing
I wish MS kept the green player indicator on the controllers
xbox and playstation controllers have always been complete shit for precision because of their analog sticks
Imagine my immeasurable joy when i plugged my 360 USB controller on my Series S and it worked just fine.
Shut up no way.
There still quite a ways to go before it's great at anything. I usually still prefer my DS4, makes my hands cramp on the triggers less.

For me it will always be this one, my hands are too big
>My HaNdS aRe ToO bIg
well why don't you wrap your big hands around my neck and choke me, fag.
i need a controller, anons
which should I get? i currently use an xbox one controller
kingkong pro 2? xbox elite?
get a wavebird my dude
anything with hall effect sticks best budget would be gamesir
I got a gamesir g7 se, it feels pretty good even if the buttons and dpad are membrane. The hall effect sticks are really nice.
what exactly does hall effect sticks mean? do they feel different or do they just last longer?
kek no
checked them out, but arent all their good controllers wired?
would really prefer wireless
hall effects means it uses magnets to register the stick travel. Meaning the physical wear is almost non-existant, They last much longer and feel pretty much the same.

the ultimate bluetooth does have them the wired version doesn't
has anyone tried the xenon? Looks tempting but I am not sure if its madcatz quality.
Does it have hall effect sensor joysticks? if not then it's worthless shit
not madcatz quality, but the texture of the sticks feel different
not worth when you can get the first-party Series X|S controller as cheap
HOWEVER, the pink and red ones do feel like Madcatz shit. The plastic on those are worse. Get a black, white or the special edition ones.
Really? I really like how the red looks.
Anyone tried plugging these into a real 360?
Agreed the revision xbone controllers were decent.
DualSense is objectively the best.
I had a wired one for PC but unfortunately the cable wore out. Maybe when the wireless Series X 360 style controller comes out I’ll use that for PC again
Do you mean the xenon? Or has anyone else announced something like that?
do you? How is their Neogeo controller knock off? I have mixed reviews on amazon.
Is this the controller thread? Because I have an 8BitDo shilling quota that I haven't filled up yet
At the cost of the worst fucking D-pad in the history of mankind.
The twist was very close to being decent.
Kys shill
Pretty sure you can't shill a controller that's over 10 years old and no longer in production.
ebay exists and let's just forget retards unironically think that a shitty old television is worth more than a new one despite you can do everything the old television did if you had more than 3 brain cells to set up some software
