Could they exist together in harmony?

Could the 4 transformation gimmicks exist in harmony together within one game / region? Competitive aside, if the next game(s) included all 4 in raids, would you prefer that to having a single new gimmick?

Maybe as a side mode or something. I think it would be pretty fun and chaotic

Mega Stones and Z-Moves already did, where you could only use one or the other with a given Pokemon. It would probably work the same way if you had more.

    >players vote on the gimmick it will come with
    Could be neat

Dynas can't, they're just megas and z-moves in the same package.
    Megas and Zs can coexist.
    Teras are a maybe.

Dynamax can, you just have to massively rework the mechanic.

Could they be variations of the same thing?

With how vague Galar's lore is left you could make and argument for Eternatus being an Ultra Beast similar to Necrozma, and that both use variations of Infinity Energy similar to megas, but Terapagos seems unrelated with what we know so far.

The Tera energy is implied to come crystals in area zero right? The energy seeping from the crater could be from a meteorite containing infinity energy? Poke-lore writes itself

        >Eternatus being an Ultra Beast similar to Necrozma
None of Eternatus's base stats are prime numbers, something which all Ultra Beasts have in common. Eternatus is NOT an ultra beast. /thread

You could adapt it like the anime, one mechanic per encounter.

Only for formal battles, events or tournaments, for the rest of the time do what you want with your friends.

I wished they could, but I don't see it working in execution. Megas and Z-moves can definitely go together—that was at least proven in gen 7, especially because they require items.

Dynamax is just too isolated of a mechanic, especially because it has limitations form where/when it can be used, and how balanced it is considering it obliterates the single battle formats and forces you to "pass the blunt" in multi-battles. It is a very wishy-washy mechanic

I feel like Terra would mesh way better with Megas and Z-moves. Terra has that ability to do what Mega Evolution could sometimes do by flipping a Pokémon's type in a single turn, except anyone can do it. Not saying it's perfectly balanced, but it's not nearly as messy or isolated like Dynamax.

Dynamax only needs Dynamax energy which could be produced by a portable power spot of sorts. The other problems still persist though - maybe just make the pokemon just a bit bigger instead of ultra massive so it can be used in more locations like indoors etc.

My major issue is with how strong it is and less the presentation. Double health + strong attacks that buff you and debuff opponents with the effects extending to your partners and even the non-targets. It's most "fair" use was from PvP doubles and raids. It was "too good" for singles and sucked for multis.

Also max moves should be nerfed to be a bit weaker than z-moves (e.g. 120 BP max) so zmoves still have a niche as one-time super-powered nukes. This would go along with the smaller dynamax size which would be a result of a portable power spot giving out less Dynamax energy compared to a real power spot.

I've wanted to think of a way to nerf max moves, either by limiting them to a 1-time use in their current state or by just removing the secondary effects altogether

Did they ever get into the nitty-gritty behind Mega Evolution besides the fall out energy from AZ weapon?
Cause the other three are just phenomena caused by a Legendary in the region.
