Honestly? Frick this game. It's obscenely hard in all the most anti-fun ways. Another a thousand too many collectibles and so many things needed for completion are unfairly hidden off camera or placed in sections that are essentially a death farm to try and get. It made me angry and miserable to play when trying to actually complete levels and unlock costumes and bonuses. The flashback challenges are all insanely difficult, most of the bonus areas are too, and the last couple of worlds in general aren't even fun. Also, none of the boss fights were enjoyable.
I have essentially nothing nice to say about this game in hindsight. It could have been so fun if the difficulty weren't so overtuned to frick you over and waste your time.
The game is pretty good just playing it through without caring about 100%. You're right about the collectibles, but if you ignore those my only issue was that some levels drag on a bit compared to the old Crash games.
The developer interviews state that they were worried that the game would be too easy. Based off what they say they all could probably speed run the game easy in just a few hours.
I am confident they chose to ignore whatever feedback they got. There's no way people tested the game and thought "yeah, this is easy and fair". The dipshit devs just wanted to chase and double down on the meme status of "Crash Bandicoot is the Dark Souls of platformers", without understanding the consequences of that.
BTW, funny how they put the picture of Nu-Tawna at the very end instead of near the beginning like the other storefronts. Really makes you think Activision figured out one of the problems.
I personally think they should have gone the Jak and Daxter route with her, maybe given her gun like Jak2. Being a bad mix of Wrath Coco and Nina just doesn't work.
She really is an eyesore compared to the rest of the cast. Should have never included her or kept her other concepts, like still being a Crash fanboy or her outback look with giant boomerang gameplay.
People were aware but there isn't really a condition for a lot of interest. >IAT had significantly lower sales than the Crash remakes >NST and NF currently still have more active players on consoles >PC version of IAT already came out on Battle Net and then was quickly cracked nearly 2 years ago
I just checked steamcharts and the release height is only at around 200 players which is currently an average day of NST players. Ouch.
I swear I haven't seen a single person who said they are buying this who isn't (at miminimum) double dipping on it
I don't think anyone who doesn't already care about Crash 4 (which isn't that many people) cares about this shit
When's CTR that is the game the people actually want on PC
This is one of those games where you can actually feel your soul leaving your body as you play through the game.
The frustrating thing is that fundamentals are there, but every single thing is hindered by the absolute worst game design I've seen in quite some time.
What were they thinking?
>Just want a remake of the Two games that needed remakes >They release a game that's a downgrade to warped and designed in a way that only the people who intentionally put Stormy Ascent a level that was removed for not being fun could
Oh boo fricking hoo the PS2 games.
When was the last time you heard someone say to skip over half of Wrath of Cortex to enjoy it properly? That being said I'd be fine if CTR:NF and a Bash Remake make their way out the gate
We've already spoken about this on Ganker anon, nobody really cares and people want NF on steam.
Even the steam discussion threads are all mostly about CTR on steam.
Everyone that cared about crash 4 already bought it on the other store or pirated it
I want nitro fueled too wtf its still not on pc, the games gonna die before it ever gets ported
What the other anon said, nobody was asking for IAT on steam, people seriously just wanted CTR.
NST was regularly talked about for years until NF came out and by the time Activision shifted Beenox of NF, Beenox themselves had to make a public statement saying the game's support got plugged because they were getting so many messages and notifications about more CTR support.
IAT in comparison just kinda came and went, all it's really done is cause a pretty big split on opinion of the game and everyone's either gone back to NF or other crash stuff or just moved on to something else.
It's the devs own fault though so I don't personally feel bad for them in the slightest, everything in IAT was done intentionally if you look at interviews and the artbook comments.
This was ported months ago.
Does it still have Blizzard's DRM that forced you to be connected online at all times, or can it be played offline?
>This was ported months ago.
It was not. The Steam version literally came out yesterday.
It was an exclusive to their store on pc for months anon
I think that I pirated it last year
>Crash 4 flops again
Good.
No one cares, Crash 4 sucks dick. You either get 4 hours of quick easy gameplay or 60+ kaizo bullshit
Who cares
this game has so many small issues that frick it apart
Honestly? Frick this game. It's obscenely hard in all the most anti-fun ways. 100% gays in shambles
Completion in the remake trilogy was fun and satisfying
The fourth game makes me want to lock the developers in jail and make them complete their own game before letting them out
The developer interviews state that they were worried that the game would be too easy. Based off what they say they all could probably speed run the game easy in just a few hours.
that's because both playtesters and journos don't give a shit about 100%ing a game, and nobody cares about the opinion of autists on Ganker
the problem is that the devs somewhat gave a shit, because they went too hard on the collectables but i guess they didnt get any feedback from testing
I am confident they chose to ignore whatever feedback they got. There's no way people tested the game and thought "yeah, this is easy and fair". The dipshit devs just wanted to chase and double down on the meme status of "Crash Bandicoot is the Dark Souls of platformers", without understanding the consequences of that.
would
Who cares for this when there's already straight-up nude mods
Yes, People just don't care.
Now CTR on the other hand....
They knew. They just didn't care.
BTW, funny how they put the picture of Nu-Tawna at the very end instead of near the beginning like the other storefronts. Really makes you think Activision figured out one of the problems.
what are you on about she looks hot as frick
I think most people wouldn’t mind Tawna being a playable character but this isn’t Tawna.
Speedrunners and collectiontrannies ruin vidya.

Did anyone care?

What were they thinking?
pls give me just crash bandicoot and platforming levels. remove everyone else and gadget levels. k thx bye
Best we can do is hidden boxes in impossible to find places
Crash is dead
Did anyone even care on release day?
Why did they give tawna such a fat ass. I'm not a furry but damn
It was an EGS timed exclusive, I played it a couple of months ago. Wasn't compelling enough to play more.
>It was an EGS timed exclusive
Why do I share a board with morons
>Ported
>Game on PC gets "ported" to PC again
Coco's cocos
counterpoint: tawna's tawna
They both end up on their backs in Crash 4 so why argue?
I'm tempted to buy the game just so I can call activision Black folk for not porting ctr and refunding it
>Just want a remake of the Two games that needed remakes
>They release a game that's a downgrade to warped and designed in a way that only the people who intentionally put Stormy Ascent a level that was removed for not being fun could
CTR and Bash?
If you bring up any PS2 game get toothpicked under your fingernails.
Oh boo fricking hoo the PS2 games.
When was the last time you heard someone say to skip over half of Wrath of Cortex to enjoy it properly?

One and Done, Now we need the real crash game here aka CTR: NR
Not in smash
Why did IAT get an artbook but not NF?
NF had alot of cool stuff I wanted to see more of...
Frankly I assumed it was ported months ago already, I forgot it actually hasn't.
