creatively bankrupt industry
You want every single game to be a completely new IP? You don't want a single well received game to get a sequel?
not every new game needs to be a new IP, but it'd be nice to have some that aren't decades old from either the PS1 or SNES days
Starfield is the only AAA game this year I can think of that's a new IP
and look what happened.
i agree with you but i can understand the other anon by realizing that AAA studios can't even make solid 5/10s anymore. starfield sucked ass, but not the normal bethesda game sucking, genuine sucking. skyrim and fallout were as deep as a puddle but at least they were as wide as an ocean. starfield is just as shallow but the content that wastes time is just as shit as the story.
maybe having companies make sequels and such is the lesser evil, at least we see something recognizable and gets associated with better older games rather than getting brand new things we have zero starting opinions on and it shitting the bed.
im scared that the next stage in this horrid evolution that game companies are going through is to pump out live service games when they realize they can't even make passable sequels anymore. just start crapping out online everything of any ip they currently have. really though, what could go wrong next?
I want every game to be story complete. I do not want sequels. Why would I need a sequel if the last game was perfect? You can release a level editor to the community and they can make more levels
name your 3 favourite games
Those games got sequels
A long fucking time ago
It's time to stop
Make something fucking new
>sequels are.. le bad!!!
Yes I want a new fun IP, I don't want my favorite IP from 25 years ago chewed up and shitted out by incompenet retards that ruin it story and gameplaywise. Let the past rest, try to create something new.
Baldur's Gate appeared on DnD books first in 1968.
If you are going to count all spiderman like that and do it the same for all the IPs.
Is there one you're missing?
bros, I can't believe zelda is only three years away from turning 40
>tfw Kid Icarus is only 10 months younger than Zelda with only 3 (three) games
>HERE'S MY CHERRYPICKED LIST (YOU)S PLEASE
Armored Core was on ice for a decade.
erm, forspoken and pizza tower were new IPs
>Todd sama makes a masterpiece, a new IP that shines some light into the never ending abyss of thr game industry's creativity
>degenerate secondaries cry and ask for more Elder Scrolls, a series as old as your father
You deserve this.
At least half of them have trannies in them or can be related to trannies in some ways. Pikmin 4, Spider-Man 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy... I think Armored Core is tranny-free.
>There's no fucking way Pikmin is 22 years old
>Released October 26 2001
Man one day Nintendo shits are gonna be celebrating their 100th anniversary and we are going to be in our 80s and 90s
Nintendo as a company is already over 100 years old, it was founded in 1889.
Yeah but I mean the video games obviously
capcom and sega are the kings of recycled ips
Sega only recycles two ips Yakuza and sonic lol
Also Total War, Hatsune Miku and Puyo Puyo
They only do this because the freaks keep paying for it. Why are you blaming the corporations and not the smoothbrain retards who enjoy slop?
Pikmin doesn't sell, it's just Miyamoto's pet project
It's Dungeon's and Dragons. It's nearly a 50 year old thing.
Using that same logic, shouldn't Diablo be 2000 years old?
No you retard, that is not the same logic at all.
Baldur's Gate is literally part of the Dungeons and Dragons IP. Blizzard does not own the rights to a religion
Not at all. Baldurs gate is a location in D&D universe. It was always a dungeon's and Dragon's Product.
If you wanted to reverse it and allow BG series to be it's own thing than Spider-Man is a 5 years old instead of 60 and hogwarts Legacy is less than a year old.
Diablo series has iconography of religious bullshit but so does literally everything on OPs list.
>Game series I like is getting a sequel
>Game series I don't like is getting a sequel
>"Again? Make something new already."
>Game series I like doesn't get a sequel
>"This series was awesome, why won't they make a new one?"
>Game series I don't like doesn't get a sequel
>"It had its time, let it go. It was never that good anyway."
What else would you call it?
>the only one older than me is Spider-Man
I've always thought that was supposed to be Schopenhauer.
I'm pretty sure Star Wars is older than 46 years
>be game studio in a capitalist economy
>release Star Wars: the Dogshit Saga
>release The Last of Us: Part II: Part II: Act 2: Intermission 3: Dogshit Edition
>release Red Dead Redead Redeadrededemption III: Brokeback Marston and the Doodoo River
>release Dark Souls of the Bloodborne Ring: Shadows Make the Same Game (more than) Twice
>get millions of dollars because 90% of gamers are stupid
Game studios are a company, which exist in a capitalist economy.
The only goal of any non-profit organization in a capitalist economy is to make money.
Any acts of human altruism are solely coincidental, and if it means maximizing profits, shall be prevented.
If you played a game in the past 5 or 10 years, and felt that it was "good", then you are the unknowing participant of what is called 'coincidence'.
It is 'coincidence' that you felt it was good. The company doesn't care; they only care that you like it /just/ enough to buy it, and are /just/ too unmotivated to demand a refund.
Even then, if you do refund it, the hordes and hordes of stupid upright-walking animals don't care enough. They love it. They love the flashing lights and blinking colors.
There are 8 billion people on the planet. Let's assume that you are of "average intelligence", based on IQ.
IQ operates across a bell curve: if you are "perfectly average", then you're right in the middle.
4 billion people on the planet are stupider than you, such that it is scientifically measurable.
Realistically, it's far, far more, if you're using a computer. It takes more brains than usual to operate one.
That is why Hi-Fi Rush is GOTY
Which ones are you older than?
Same as you but without marking up MK. MK's older than me.
High Fi Rush and Starfield were both great and decent. Then we also hot Redline and Forspoken
creatively bankrupt audience
>Ganker is full of MMO and singleplayer MMO players
>tfw same age as pikmin
