he wasn't even supposed to have a big role in the first place, the late shift towards having wholesome man as the protagonist is manly what made the game lack so many things to this day
i wonder what's lacking that isn't actual roleplaying choices because mister chungus is killing you and everything you do is to try to remove him, and remaking the whole main story with new motion capture and samurai segments definitely didn't use any resources that could have gone to actual side content than isn't killing some thugs in an alley or below a bridge.
next you'll say i didn't play the game and that all the plot holes are characteristics of the cyberpunk genre
Come on now.
They promised a deep roleplaying game with multiple classes and what we ended up with was a looter shooter action adventure that used to be closer to borderlands before 2.0
Game is still decent and can be enjoyable but you can't truly fix it.
There is no way in 2077 that V would do anything that Phantom Liberty puts forward in its story, and I'm surprised that the writers thought that one half-dead solo who has suffered greatly at the hands of corporations would be the point of contact for the president of the NUSA who is also the leader of Militech.
>president of the NUSA who is also the leader of Militech.
I feel like most of PL existed solely to try and flesh out non-Night City oriented groups like NUSA/FIA from how much they keep mentioning "ugh nuh muh jurisdictions" to make up for how little they actually show up in the base game.
Not a good excuse, but it's my cope on how it's focused too much on groups the base game doesn't touch.
PL did do a good job on expanding on those groups, but the base problem is that V just wouldn't be the merc for the job.
You just wouldn't call up a leukemia patient to save Joe Biden from an African warlord.
V was the only person Songbird could contact from the plane and by the time Myers is safe he has already proven he's capable, has some level of rapport with songbird while having a unique means of contacting her, and is already largely briefed on the situation. Maybe it would be more suitable to zero him and put some more spies on the case instead but at that point you're also potentially exposing yourself to further information leaks. Sometimes keeping the circle of people in the know as small as possible is the way to go.
I was originally going to do another playthrough after finishing my first with the Aldelcados ending
finding out pretty much all of the other endings are absolute shit killed any desire I had to replay
because I like to roleplay a character from beginning to end
admittedly cyberpunk is pretty shit for roleplaying in the first place since the ending choice is really the only thing that matters
I picked it because I was roleplaying
if I was going to die regardless of what happens, I would rather spend my time in good company than anything else
Re-downloaded it before I went to work today. I've been reading a lot on Gnosticism, and I want to see if any of Phillp K Dick's themes from Do Androids Dream actually made into this game.
>You don't get a big cool boss fight >You don't get to actually win no matter the decision you make >You might as well just ignore the DLC and do the Star ending or Secret ending
One of the worst pieces of shit I've ever played. Mr.Hands was a severe fucking letdown as well, I thought he was going to be a Johnny Cage-esque looking character. Johnny is le heckin emotional throughout the entire DLC and is mad at you if you save yourself despite him promising you in the hotel he would gladly give up his life for yours. Like what the fuck was the point. Oh yeah, thanks CD Projekt for making the game not harder, but a bigger inconvenience to play. Literally did not give a fuck about anyone in that story by the end, and the Songbird betrayal was the most obvious shit in the world. Too bad you're heavily limited in your options.
>You don't get a big cool boss fight
Good, their idea of boss fights in Phantom Liberty was fucking awful. Both AI mech encounters should have been scrapped.
Theres nothing to save, buying this game is you giving an OK to CDPR and the rest of companies to keep trying until you just accept that games just dont work or never get finished and thats good and heres why.
literally the only way to not get double crossed is to let myers die at the beginning. which is based, by the way. you still get the rest of dogtown without the largely shit main quests there. reeds actor was phoning it in big time, on top of him being a bore to begin with. he really ruins most of the main quests for me. he and alex are 2 of the most pathetic cuckolds of all time. its true alex is less bad, but i had zero interest in befriending her whatsoever, took every rude/dismissive dialogue option for her, at the end i dared her to try and kill me, and she still treats you like you're spy buddies. its funny.
after reading all the homosexuals whining here i expected songbird to be the worst character in the entire game, and she ended up being the one good part of the main dlc.
>hmmm, kidnapped person who was forced to do psychopathic things for the israelitenited states from a young age
or
>man who has gotten paid billions of dollars to act in things and yet still cannot do one of the easiest accents on earth and is an absolute charisma vaccuum who puts you to sleep, and also his character sucks corpo cock and begs for more
>enemies scale with your level >items that you currently have don't scale requiring you to pick up the same exact items, but with a tier 2 text on it
Looter shooter skinner box mechanics are the easiest way to make your supposed "RPG game" complete shit. The biggest joke is that at the same time your player attributes affect weapon stats. Scaling item system stacked on top of another stat scaling system. Why???
There's no reason for this item tier scaling to exist.
That's a man
Why didn't they just make a Johnny Silverhand game?
Because Johnny Silverhand is canonically a loser.
he wasn't even supposed to have a big role in the first place, the late shift towards having wholesome man as the protagonist is manly what made the game lack so many things to this day
what is it lacking because of his inclusion? all he does is comment on your quests, are you stupid?
also the samurai quests (optional) are up there with the best side quests in the game, easy.
i wonder what's lacking that isn't actual roleplaying choices because mister chungus is killing you and everything you do is to try to remove him, and remaking the whole main story with new motion capture and samurai segments definitely didn't use any resources that could have gone to actual side content than isn't killing some thugs in an alley or below a bridge.

ruins everything good in the game*

No it isnt
I was originally going to do another playthrough after finishing my first with the Aldelcados ending
finding out pretty much all of the other endings are absolute shit killed any desire I had to replay
Why didn't you just save before choosing the final mission like everyone else?
because I like to roleplay a character from beginning to end
admittedly cyberpunk is pretty shit for roleplaying in the first place since the ending choice is really the only thing that matters
I can't imagine what you have to tell yourself in order to think that game was worth multiple playthroughs at launch.
>at launch
what the hell are you talking about?
I've only been playing it since 2.0
The nomad ending is the midwit ending. I swear every journalist/youtuber that speedran the game for clicks picked that ending because Panam ass.
I picked it because I was roleplaying
if I was going to die regardless of what happens, I would rather spend my time in good company than anything else

yeah, just 2 more patches and they will fix everything and add everything they promise

Hensen knife throw was kino
It's genuinely worse than when i played it on PC at at launch. I just started PL and so far it's boring.
Jokes aside, I haven't played since that garbo release
How much did the game improve and how's the DLC
Theres nothing to save, buying this game is you giving an OK to CDPR and the rest of companies to keep trying until you just accept that games just dont work or never get finished and thats good and heres why.
FROM BEING A GOOD GAME!
Why is saving Songbird and sending her to the moon considered the canon ending? My V does not allow people to double cross me and live.
Who said it's canon?
Mr Blue Eyes said. We will see So Mi in Orion and save her once again
>We will see So Mi in Orion and get tricked by her once again
the sad state of songbird simps
We have to save everyone who really need help, bro. WE ARE THE SAVIORS
no such thing as "your V", no matter the origin you choose, V is a street kid that helps everyone and say quirky lines
literally the only way to not get double crossed is to let myers die at the beginning. which is based, by the way. you still get the rest of dogtown without the largely shit main quests there. reeds actor was phoning it in big time, on top of him being a bore to begin with. he really ruins most of the main quests for me. he and alex are 2 of the most pathetic cuckolds of all time. its true alex is less bad, but i had zero interest in befriending her whatsoever, took every rude/dismissive dialogue option for her, at the end i dared her to try and kill me, and she still treats you like you're spy buddies. its funny.

Black lesbian for more EGS points, hurray.
Didnt hesitate to take Reed route to get her killed and fight Hansen, his fight was fun
I dropped the game entirely once I started playing it. It's so fucking bad.
>enemies scale with your level

Playing for the first time since launch.
Where can I find a good power revolver in early game?
