>NOOOOOOO what do you mean I can't use the shotgun as a heckerino sniper rifle in a game that's 99.99% CQC?
If you disliked the shotgun you are a casual shitter and nothing you say can convince me otherwise.
Shotgun in Doom 3 was the best shotgun in all of Doom. Carmack agrees.
I lowered it's spread and there's nothing you can do about it
You already get a chainsaw (and flashlight, kek) as a melee weapon anyway
I like doom 3, but come on now. It's clunky and akward, and does not feel great to use
>stand beside a doorway and wait for the enemy to come
>fail to kill because 5 pixels of the crosshair weren't on target
The Super is pretty good though, too bad it's not in the main campaign.
That's right OP, all glory to D3!
>Doom 3 has arguably the most OP shotgun ever put into vidya
>Ganker claims it is too weak and needs a buff
I bet you play on recruit as well.
kino pic. Saved. Death to BFG!
dat 120fps tho
Say what you want about the game, but the ambience and audio logs still terrify me to this day.
Guys how do I beat the Maledict on ROE? I keep dying to that bullshit fireball attack and 3+2 artifact charges seems like barely anything considering you only do scratch damage otherwise.
>ROE
God, that reminds me. I badly need to play ROE. Never got around to it when I was younger.
Git Gud. No really the maledict has a truly absurd amount of health compared to every other enemy in all of doom 3 so you just gotta slug it out.
OK I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some clever trick I was missing.
He filtered me hard as a kid, and I recently replayed them only to get filtered again 🙁
Consider this the cyberdemon has 4000 HP. The maledict has a total of 7500 and goes through the invulnerability from the artifact.
Hide Under the giant skull s horns to avoid the fireballs
I defeated him without Artifact. Do this:
the most fun shotgun to use
>MP stats
I disagree but respect your choice.
I think both high spread and low spreadfags can both agree the alpha/beta shotgun is superior.
Reznor sounds, too.
Shotgun is most fun, especially on Hell Knights.
Fuck i miss games having dynamic shadows
You'd think nowadays 32gb ram 8gb vram would at least make up for shitty implementation but no
Fuck modern gaming
Seeing all the games from that period to now at once, you would've thought the vidya Library of Alexandria when down in flames by the end of the 00s.

That's what happens when you start firing talented people to hire trannies and twitterinos to meet your globohomo quota
>Doom 3 is the best Doom game
Correct
>and on of the finest FPS game of all-time
Also correct but only because the previous Doom games were just the poor man's Half-Life.
Remember enemy projectiles have actual collision so you can blast imp fireballs out of the air.
>revenant appears
>molest him with plasma fire
>all rockets explode in his face
uberkino
I really liked this style of Doom. Nu-Doom doesn't really appeal to me. That Pitch Black (Riddick) fps was also amazing. Escape from Butcher Bay? I wonder why that style of fps died out. It felt like it borrowed some elements of an immersive sim, but was still 90+% action. Real fun. Should be called "immersive fps" or something, but we only got 2 games like that =(
The need for every game to be open world killed these types of games.
Yeah. Doom 3 was unironically the best Doom. Carmack agrees, it's what Doom was always meant to be.
>but we only got 2 games like that
Play Prey 2006 and Condemned and Chernaya Metka
>Prey 2006
Ah yes, I did play this one and enjoyed it. Forgot. To be honest, I didn't really like the Indian spiritual stuff. Every time you die you have to do some mini game to come back to life, I would have preferred to just have check points and try again, but I can still appreciate the rest of the game.
>Chernaya Metka
Will check it out, thank you.
If you are familiar with the game I highly suggest doing a HUDless run on veteran difficulty - adds a nice twist of tension to each encounter when you are never quite sure how much health and ammo you have.
>HUDless run
Sounds kino. Perfect game for it.
What mods/console commands do I use for that?
I tried to play on release and stopped when I found the first of these elastic men. He comes running at you and doesn't react to gunfire (stunning enemies is a big part of the original Doom). He basically just comes running and uses his retractable arms to attack you while you shoot him, waiting for the invisible HP bar to run out so he falls to the ground. It was at this point that I realised I was playing a shitty FPS made by people who had no idea how a shooter should work.
You do realise you can duck under the attack right?
There's nothing inherently wrong with enemies in an FPS not having pain chances as long as they're balanced correctly in other ways. Having an attack animation play out even if you're shooting them adds to the challenge and forces you to come up with a strategy beyond just aiming your crosshair and stunning them in their place.
enemies not reacting to getting shot is the main problem with the game.
there's no problem
no, it simply doesn't work. It results in gameplay where you sortof hold your crosshairs over an enemy while holding down the trigger until they fall down. Not scary or interesting, just boring and lame.
Well it is interesting
Quake multiplayer matches don't have hitstun mechanics and they're not boring or lame. I can definitely see the argument for it making combat less satisfying, but it also ups the intensity of an encounter which is the opposite of boring for me.
>OP is inflammatory superlatives
>first reply doesn't even wait for any discourse before he becomes needlessly defensive
People actually wonder to themselves why this place sucks.
>people defending Doom 3
That game was garbage and a lame attempt to make Doom for new audiences. Kys.
Best sound design of any horror game ever.
If there is one game that deserves ray tracing doom 3 is it.
hell yes, dhewm3 could add that as an option
Is that the DLC?
thats the base game
Huh. I don't remember that scene at all.
>Reflection in the glass
Wait, what kind of insane mod is this?
>shitty ass bfg edition
Wait. For real? Is OP BFG? And this pic is OG?
nah OPs image is vanilla doom 3 but with the brightness turned up. that pic is just from dhewm3 with the parallax texture mod from back in the day. bfg edition has totally different textures and motion blur and shit
dhewm3 and the original iso is all you need. it even ignores the cdkey requirement for the base game and roe
>OPs image is vanilla doom 3
I thought so. Also I don't think the brightness is turned up, it's just pre-invasion. The intro was a lot brighter than the rest of the game, especially the processing area which is what OP pic is showing.
I remember it being that bright.
This, both D3 fans and haters should acknowledge that later releases of this game are cancer
When will id let a re-release of D3 actually be good?
metadoom justifies the existence of doom 3
I would have taken a spiritual successor to Doom 3, over 2016 and shiternal any fucking day
I liked Eternal. But yeah 2016 sucked balls.
Doom 3 was pretty meh, the engine tech was amazing for the time.
Doom 3 is the only doom I enjoy playing.
QuietTomato is that you
Yes. Hi.
draw the girl who stinks good playing doom on the 3do
You have shit taste
Doom 1 is literally the only good Doom game. Doom 2 has a few good levels too. 3, 2016, and Eternal are all fucking cancer.
You should kys.
Quake 4 was a better Doom 3.
The mission where you pilot a hover tank *chefs kiss*
